  1. Even better would be for it to never leave ever again! I hate seeing it with piss-yellow painted spokes.Zips win 34-17.
  2. Sorry, I just can't and like your mother says, "If you can't say something nice..."
  3. Something always bothered me about that logo.... like it could be sleeker and look faster and more powerful.I just tried to tweak it (head and ears back... deeper stride, tail straight back) but I did it in a paint program and the best way would be to do it in vector based software for good lines.I like the stretched roo better! How about one similar to UMich style with the "FEAR THE ROO" (minus the words) wrapped across the front with the eyes just above the visor opening?
  4. Did you get a link to the MAC fan questionaire? I replied at least twice to stop the weeknight games. Your compromise of one weeknight home game per season might be workable though.
  5. They are pretty clueless. No mention of BMcK, Bardo and SS... McNees will most likely not be at point with all the talent coming in, Roberts experience last yr, and the departure of Dials and Ced leaving the 2 spot open. If this team can gel and not turn the ball over, they have every chance of competing for the MAC title.
  6. Their travel would still be better than UCF & USF in that scenario.
  7. OK, this time I'm not seeing things There's steel goin' up on the next level!
  8. It could be that or restrooms... or storage.
  9. Would we quit playing weeknight games once the stadium opens? I would think we could draw better playing only on Saturday (assuming we're not playing Directional State Technical College).
  10. Probably doesn't hurt to have contacts at Cinci (former UA AD) and Pitt (JD) either, not that other schools don't also have contacts.
  11. So what does this eqivocate to nationally?
  12. Being in the BE may actually increase attendance in itself. The casual fan recognizes Pitt, Syracuse, Cinci, WV, etc. and that they usually are better teams (at least they have been or currently are ranked). Would you as an uninformed casual football fan rather go to the Info for a game against WMU or against Pitt? There's definately some potential rivalries built in there also.
  13. I know, we're still early in FOOTBALL season, but here are two preseason outlooks on the upcoming BASKETBALL team.Good news, bad newsContenders? (plus the recently popular Zeke mention)And we all know that even in the off-season that
  14. Nice lids, Cap! Where can one get one of those? Are they a special edition for the last year of the RB?
  15. Maybe the desire to be more up-tempo? Big guys aren't usually known for being that quick. Either way, I'd still like to see them get some minutes early in the season in preparation for all the banging that goes on in conference play.
  16. Thanks. Looks like he and Valentine (6-8 232 Soph) split time last yr. I agree, our bigs should be able to control the boards and hopefully score over them.
  17. sourceSince the Winthrop game comes early in the season, what will this mean for the big guys? An extra game to learn, or are their other big men still a challenge?
  18. Are you looking at their pictures on gozips.com? They are all wearing suits and ties... very classy! From your post I thought they were wearing all sorts of odd, dissimilar things (tshirts, jerseys, suits...). I have no problem with suit & tie pics. They are STUDENT athletes afterall.
  19. That's better attendance than Crawford's basketball teams drew!
  20. Looks like they are preparing to give the Zip backfield more opportunities.I'll say... Igor kicks a 50 yarder for a Zips win.
  21. I'm your point man. Just keep in mind the whole UA tailgating topic is a big unknown right now (stadium and lot construction still has a ways to go). I've yet to see a good University map detailing 2009 parking/tailgating plans. It'll eventually become clear, but for now we're all in the dark. Thanks sounds great. In the meantime look at my other guides and start researching when able:Lodging, Fine Dining, Casual Dining (for dining avoid the national chains--give me the local or regional flavor), Sports Bars, Golf Courses ( a couple muni hacker courses and a couple very nice courses), touristy stuff within an hour or two and one or two trendy, hot shopping centers for the ladies. Also, let me know if Ohio sells beer, wine in convenience and grocery sotores. Is hard liquor in state run places or liquor stores.Be sure to attach any links (most important part)The parking, stadium info can be filled in in August 09. My goal would be to have it ready for your 1st game in the new stadium.Bottomline the guide is written first for the visiting fan but should also be a nice reference for hometown fans too. I really appreciate you stepping forward. TMThere is a lot of info on downtown Akron at this site.
  22. Pumping concrete in the lower bowl seats today and it looks like they're trying to get the end wall by the truck ramp dug and poured so they can continue the seats all the way across without interruption.
  23. Can someone with better legal experience explain to me what is the difference between "one-half interest" and "full interest"Isn't that the property that is co-owned with his cousin? The one that was awarded the outrageous amount for the parking lot?
  24. Anyone know if they will be doing basketball also? It's tough trying to listen to the post-game on 1350 during the way home and I know I can get 106.9.
