Come on man.... Recruits make their decisions on where to attend based off this board. Smh

My first half impressions against a terrible team.... 1. Not sure why Big Dig started over Pat. Also not sure where all these reports came that he lost weight. He looks as overweight and slow as ever. 2. Antino looks just as small and skinny as ever. Not sure where these reports came from that he turned into hulk hogan. 2. Pat looks really good. His footwork and touch leads me to believe he will be very successful. 3. Josh Williams has a lot of potential. I'm not sure if he will ever be a dominate player, but he will be very solid. I don't get the same wow that I did from Noah last year. Hard to tell from 1 game. 4. Ivey will be able to score. He is extremely quick and showed nice range hitting a 3 about 4 feet behind the line. Didn't get to see his skills taking it to the hole off the dribble. 5. Kretzer looked like he stepped back into 1996 with his haircut. I was worried about him being able to see, but his set shot looked great. All in all....we look much better than this time last year.

I hope their logic isnt that stupid. The guy is the most talented person on offense and he has made more big plays than the rest of the receivers combined. He isnt going to learn route running and footwork by standing on the sidelines. Get him on the field now.

Honestly, if the kid is that much of a sissy that he doesn't want to come here because of a message board poster then I don't want him on the team anyway. The reason I do it is because I am scared shitless about the direct of the program. We aren't getting any better and the lack of talent is staggering for the upcoming classes. We have a new president that has shown that he will do almost anything to save a buck. Eventually, he is going to see that paying Terry Bowden $125,000 a win is money not well spent. Meanwhile, most people on this board have their heads shoved up their ass about what is really going on with this program. If you changed his name from Bowden to Ianello, people would be calling for his head already. However, all I hear are crickets, excuses and "hey, at least we almost wins". Sorry if that isn't good enough for me. But, point taken.....I am done talking about it.

Really? Do you understand how nasty most boards would be if their team was performing like ours? Are you really that naive to think that one person cracking a couple jokes about our underachieving staff will somehow sway recruits to not come here? I would be more worried about recruits not coming here because we don't win football games. A staff with a w/l record of 14-30 doesn't exactly command respect in the living room of recruits. It does, however, mean that Bowden has made about $125,000 a win. Sorry if I find that a little excessive for a MAC school.

He is a big boy basically stealing a half million dollars a year. He is laughing all the way to the bank. He doesn't need you being his personal defender.

Thomas Woodson isn't the answer....we don't have the answer. This team is an absolute disaster and terry bowden does not have the solution after 4 years. The problem is that things are just going to get worse. Now you see why old "tater tot" didnt get a job after auburn.

It would be a train wreck because all 4 of those teams are TERRIBLE. Not only that, 3 of the 4 games are at home. Do you think NIU, BGSU, OU or Toledo fans would have this boards attitude about possibly losing to one of those 4 teams? It would be unacceptable. I am not trying to justify firing Bowden. I am trying to hold the guy to a little higher standard than most on this board do. I feel the guy is too comfortable inching the program along at a snails pace satisfying many of you by beating a few of the dregs of college football. I want to see a sense of urgency with him and his staff as far as bringing in guys with fresh new schemes, guys to help step up the recruiting level, etc... We still lag behind almost every MAC team in recruiting and it doesn't look like we are picking up any steam in this regard. Recruiting is the lifeblood of college football programs and we seem to be on life support. If you don't believe me, take the starting seniors and plug in the guys we currently have on the roster to replace them next year. The talent level drop off is frightening and we aren't exactly out athleting anyone right now. Are we better on the field now than we were 4 years ago? Yes. Honestly though, we aren't that much better and none of you should be remotely satisfied with this programs performance. Losing to BGSU by 50 is an absolute joke! We "may" beat a terrible 1-AA team and 4 or 5 of the bottom 30 teams in the country this year, but I am sick and tired of the excuses of why we cant even beat mid-level MAC programs after 4 years. Beating Miami, EMU and a 1-AA team every year isnt going to help us win the recruiting wars with Toledo, Ohio, BGSU, WMU and NIU. We have to start beating these teams and beating them now. The Bowden name loses its luster with every 50 point beat down to upper level MAC schools. If my viewpoint is too outrageous for this board then so be it.

And 4 years later the same middle of the road to good MAC teams that were beating us by sometimes embarrassing margins are still doing so. Maybe some of us are happy just not being one of the 20 worst teams in the country. Maybe some of us expect more.
