Agreed...I will be done as an athletics supporter if that happens. Being a zips fan is miserable enough a large majority of the time. I am not going to go through that misery for an institution that has completely separated from the identity of my university.

I agree on Means. I thought he looked promising as well. I also liked seeing Tyrell Goodman back on the field. We really missed him last year, but he is a guy that typically catches the ball. He isn't a game breaker, but Means and Goodman are two solid guys. MTB, Wolf or Pratt absolutely have to step up on the outside.Jamal Marcus definitely impressed. He has great speed of the edge and could get to the QB and will. Hundley definitely trimmed up. He looks to have a much better burst this year.

I thought the defense looked pretty good. The offense has no dynamic players whatsoever.

I talked to Givens after the game and he was out with shoulder surgery, but I doubt he is the guy that is out for the year.

I am well aware of all this. I was simply stating why Bowden feels that he needs to take a risk on such a potential PR nightmare.

Let's be honest here...Bowden is desperate to find a playmaker on offense. He knows that his job and hence his career is on the line. The real question is, why "wouldn't" he take the risk knowing this? The guy knows that he has to win big and win big fast.

I don't think that he is athletic enough to play linebacker for us to be honest. Hopefully, this role lets him help to contribute.

This offense sounds more like "we will design a play and if the first read isn't open the quarterback needs to run because our other receivers are so bad they have no shot at being open."

I have seen Chapman and I am extremely optimistic. However, Bowden didnt really recruit Chapman. Chapman recruited himself to Bowden. Bowden basically blew him off at first and got lucky in the end because he almost went elsewhere.

Bowden still can't recruit a quarterback or a running back.

Pohl threw for 321 yards and 3 td's against Louisiana and we lost because we missed 2 fourth quarter field goals. Pohl was 14-22 for 143 yards and 2 td's against JMU before getting hurt. Your disdain for Pohl is duly noted....freaking stop already. Jeez!!

Unfortunately, I don't agree with this. Just because it is "middle ground", doesn't make it right. The "middle ground" is simply a way of trying to please more people to win elections or not having the balls to do what needs to be done. It doesn't necessarily mean doing the "right thing". There are obviously times when compromising on a middle ground is a correct thing to do, but you are painting with too broad of a brush with that comment.

The MAC needs to worry about ways to improve the conference. I don't need the MAC making political statements for me. Leave laws up to the people and their elected officials.
