i did get quite the chuckle from reading the thread discussing the line. Maybe they should do some research on our defensive personnel this year before they make such silly predictions. It reminds me a lot of the Pitt, penn state and Michigan boards. All three of them were quite surprised with the talent and speed of our defense. I think you guys will be as well.

Pitt played a sloppy and uninspired game. I don't even consider what happened last year while evaluating this game. They won't be sleepwalking into this one.

Coe is definitely intriguing, but I went with Jamal Marcus. I think he is going to be an absolute terror in the MAC.

Just because we stopped him in one game last year doesn't mean that he won't run crazy on us this year.

Until they prove it to me, I am not convined that our offense can move the ball consistantly. If we can't sustain a running game against them, our defense will be on the field all day long. In that scenario, only giving up 42 would be a blessing. Besides, Perine is an absolute monster.

Exactly. If cutting baseball is the cost for us to compete in football and basketball then I am all for it. If other MAC schools dont follow it definitely gives us a recruiting advantage.

Welcome to the real world. I am currently doing a job that was spread out amongst 4 salaried people. I am the only one left. My company couldnt care less about me being overworked. They want the job done and there wasnt the budget to pay 4 mid-level managers. As for the overworked crew at UA....nobody is putting a gun to their head and making them stay. If they dont like their job or if they dont give a damn they can surely leave for greener pastures. We are stil "somewhat" free in this country.

Now all the idiots are coming out of the woodwork. We would have to keep the same budget to try and compete at the highest level of 1-AA. It makes absolutely no sense. Bowden and the staff would be gone. After that happens, just go ahead and TRY to bring in a quality staff. It would be the death of the program. If they make this switch they can just go ahead and take the 8 tickets that we have because I would never go to a game.

As I stated, sometime down the road. Nobody said that we would build the arena next week.

Do you really think all these people have just flocked to Columbus because they are in love with their agriculture program? No. They do it because they had an affinity for the university since they were a child, or in Boise States case the last decade. I remember Bobby Bowden talking about how the enrollment at FSU increased several hundered percent after the football team came to national prominance. This is one of the reasons that universities soak money into athletics. They are hoping that success on the field equals an increase in enrollment. You cant look at the athletic revenue in a vacuum. Enrollment increases caused by athletics isnt factored into those profit/loss numbers.

Exactly...there is a quote in the manufacturing world that applys to this very thing. "Show me how you measure me and I will tell you how I behave". We need so set the correct metrics for the new AD position and make sure we have the right person to deliver on those expectations. We also need the right person tracking his progress.
