  1. Akron referenced in article about NCAA Football Game
  2. The summer school to our east picked up a former 4* QB transfer from Purdue. Michael Alaimo (A-Lame-O is fitting) - 6'4" 215 lbs. Spent 3 years at Purdue and somehow has 3 years of eligibility left according to SI.com.
  3. You don't think we have the talent to knock off at least Indiana? They're O/U is ~3 wins.
  4. The amount of talent that has been brought in since JoeMo arrived is incredible. Please, PLEASE translate to W's in the fall.
  5. The ACC has the worst worst TV deal of the P5s in terms of money per school, but still distributes $17M annually to each school (14). The AAC is next with $7M per school. The MAC is next with $600k per school. By George, I think you've cracked the code.
  6. Big Ten/NBC $7B Media Deal Hits Turbulence This is quite the situation. Combined, the Big Ten schools will have to pay back $65M. The value on the deal is in flux (tens of millions - estimated $70M+ which is $5M per school) due to availability of schools for primetime games. Kevin Warren left for a job with the Chicago Bears, and the new commissioner - Tony Petitti - is scrambling to keep this deal together with as much original value as possible. All the while pissing off coaches with poor communication about schedules, etc. Also, PAC12's new media deal is not looking great.
  7. It's nice having a coach with a name worth a damn. Proof that Joe Moorhead's Camp carries more weight nationwide than let's say Akron Football Camp.
  8. You must be a hoot at parties. I like the idea of Suckeye fans being put in a mental & emotional pretzel over this. Deny the talent upgrade for the illusion that OSUcks has higher academic standards than Michigan OR Accept the talent upgrade and admit OSUcks has lower academic standards than Michigan
  9. I bet he couldn't wait to get away from Hue Jackson. Does anybody know what his academic story is? Out of high school, he was a Texas commit/decommit. He had offers from the following... Bama Florida Texas Tech Kansas Arkansas Colorado Illinois Missouri Ole Miss Texas SMU Auburn Texas A&M After decommiting from Texas, he had offers from Grambling, Marshall, and Vandy, ultimately ending up at Grambling. Academic issues or something else?
  10. The Rubber Bowl was in the college football games leading up to the Info coming into the fold. I'll never forget my team of Zippys whooping the Brutus team's ass at the Rubber Bowl in NCAA Football 2005. In the last decade, technology has vastly improved, which should make the process of detailing the stadiums & their surroundings that much easier. There are over 300 DI basketball programs vs 120 FBS football programs. The lack of detail in the college basketball games was always the least bit surprising (and they sucked).
  11. Congratulations to the players on finally being able to profit from EA Sports NCAA Football video game series. As excited as I am for the return of the greatest football video game series ever, this is equally as exciting for the players. The game earned $80M in annual revenue, and NCAA Football 2014 still sells for $40-60 (the game play mechanics are some of the best ever in any football game ever made). I wonder how accurate the rosters will be, how deep the rosters/NIL will go, and how this will affect fandom in college football. Touching on the last point, I say that because in the last NCAA Football game (2014), a few programs became favorites for users to do career mode with - Idaho & UTSA. The Vandals and Roadrunners grew in popularity from this. People being able to play with actually G5 players (assuming this goes that far) will potentially help close the gap that has been growing between P5 & G5 FBS football from a fan interest standpoint. At the very least, it's a step in the right direction.
  12. Agreed, and exactly why I asked if there were more games being added to the slate. If you had 3-4 games, and could get a Xavier or Cincy or Pittsburgh or Dayton added to them, 10-12k would be seemingly very feasible. Even as it stands, 8-10k should be had. I hope the ticket is for all games. This is the second straight year of a random, solid "event" on the schedule. Barstool last year and now this. Who do y'all think is pulling the strings on these - Guthrie, Groce, both, or someone else?
  13. @GoZips88 3.5 - just like I said last night.
  14. "There is literally NOTHING to do in DeKalb. This sucks." - Ridge Howard (probably)
  15. Also, why is Tyler Carter listed as a Fullerton player instead of Buffalo?
  16. Holy 💩 what?! Former top 20 player in the state of New Jersey. Had offers from Duke, VT, Rutgers, UCLA, Marshall, Temple out of high school. FCS interest this time around but could be quite the get. Competition is going to be solid in the QB room, and he has 3 years of eligibility.
  17. This is the biggest & best OL we've had in a while, no? @catdaddyp
  18. Are these the only 2 games at The Fieldhouse that day? Or is this an all day event with games TBA?
  19. We are, which is interesting. They just announced the recruiting class the other day, and now we have this offer go out. Is someone not happy with Ali Ali returning? With Ali Ali coming in, does that bump someone out of a rotation spot based on style of play? When you look at the roster, we have 2 incoming freshman, so unless one of them somehow decommits, their scholarships aren't opening up. Tribble/Freeman/Dawson are seemingly locks to return. Hunter/Scott/Thornton are transfers who would have to sit out another year (Scott & Thornton are incoming this year, so I guess they could technically decommit? I don't know how that would work). Prather Jr/Lyles/N Johnson/T Johnson are the sophomores/redshirt freshman that can freely move and aren't seemingly locked into returning based on their limited time here. Does Ali Ali push Lyles down the bench? Are one of the guards unhappy/looking for more PT? Interesting situation.
  20. He has offers from Drake, Austin Peay, VMI, and UIC. I'd be surprised if all 4 of his interest were walk-on offers, and I'd be even more surprised if we offered him a walk-on vs 3 scholarship offers. The excitement on Drake's board seems to suggest he's a scholarship offers for them. 6'7" southpaw listed as a guard. Looks somewhat raw but malleable with a solid foundation. Athletic, can shoot, and can finish at/above the rim. His academy was top 5-10 in the country as of February 2023. The tweets describing him are an athletic 3&D guy who plays strong above the rim on both ends. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18608063/638f57a72aa6b80a3848657f
  21. Ask the person that followed up a similar sentiment with a story insinuating those who don't think a certain way in this situation are lesser people for it. Convenient how that person's similar sentiment and follow-up post weren't called out - just mine. All good. Go Zips.
  22. It's only "hurtful" because people choose to let a word "hurt" them. Being offended is a choice. Then how do you (being a general term) get more people to be offended? Tell them they're wrong and a lesser person for not being offended like you. That is absolutely herd mentality. I brought up Saudi Arabia, their vast array of investments in US companies, their laws against gay rights (punishable by death), and the lack of outrage vs this situation where a word was used. I brought up how this word appears in songs, movies, comedy shows with little to no outrage. I was laughed at and told my angle of the discussion is ridiculous. It's hard to take serious a situation that has so much variance when someone can choose to be outraged/offended/practice empathy. P.S. "Sensitivity Training" is the biggest indoctrination crock of 💩. "Think like this or else"
  23. Correct. When I watch movies like Blazing Saddles, I laugh, or when Rap God plays during a workout, I listen to it, and I'm not going to pretend to be offended just to save face with the herd mentality when it's said publicly. All for agreeing to disagreeing and moving on. Go Zips.
  24. I struggle to believe that apology is authentic. How often do we see this song & dance? Person says something that offends a group of people, mainstream media & the mob come after them, company forces said person to release a statement with an apology, time passes, and the MSM/mob eventually move onto the next thing they decide to get pissed about. Rinse & repeat. The first post literally insinuated he may not be in the Hall of Fame because of this if he wasn't already inducted. Several posts stated that whatever punishment he receives is warranted. Others called him a bigot, which is an overused & cheapened term at this point. Furthermore, being offended by what Huggins said is ok. Telling others they have to be offended is not.
  25. Ignorant would mean he's not educated on or aware of the situation, which is doubtful being a college basketball coach. What if Huggins just doesn't give a damn what he says, because being offended is a choice people make? I have gotten several PMs from ZN members who share similar points of view as I do, whether it be agreeing that the Huggy situation is overblown or that the herd mentality of a singular thought without accepting any other viewpoint is nauseating. I just wanted you to finish whatever you were insinuating about me. Seems to be potentially ban-worthy, so I'm intrigued. Go Zips, man. That's our common ground. Oh, and KSUcks.
