I doubt it. Appearing in only 10 games for an OU squad that was bitten by the injury bug and flat out blew last year isn't exactly enticing. Only shot 22% from the field, too. With Walsh, he'll still be getting his education paid for, and Walsh has fine academics.

Oh I could give a crap about LeBron's BS. Haha. I just think a good showing can earn us some respect, while also pocketing over a million dollars.

This is such a great recruiting matchup for us. It gets our name into the minds of the Columbus-area recruits who might not be good enough for significant playing time at OSU, but want to stay somewhat close to home. That actually goes for a lot of OSUcks-fan-recruits in general. I can see it now. Ramart leads us on a game-winning drive to beat the Suckeyes.

Now that this is in the right section, I'll comment. She organized a 2A rally on their campus a few weeks ago. Her dad is apparently a big 2A guy, and has raised his daughter similarly. I've seen this photo and other photos from her graduation circulating, and have a few comments... - I'm a huge 2A person, but not a big fan of these open carry demonstrations. I don't think the optics of open carry demonstrations with AR15s (or in this case, an AR10) are positive for gun owners. - I doubt it is, but I hope the magazine and chamber are empty. Typically with open carry demonstrations, the magazine is not in the magwell to show that it's empty. - Can't must be livid that this is getting so much attention. - I wish she would've carried an AR15, not an AR10. I don't think the pro-gun control crowd knows about the evil AR10 yet. Edit: Let me add that I actually appreciate her reasoning for doing this.

In its third season under head coach Terry Bowden, Akron came one game shy from winning its first MAC championship since 2005 after winning the East Division but falling to Toledo in the title game. This will only be our fourth season with Bowden as our coach?! We are WAY ahead of schedule!

Not sure why stuff like this isn't done more often. On a side note, half the kids in college currently are probably familiar with Vanilla Ice from his house rehab show (maybe Stepbrothers Ice Ice Baby scene, too), and Salt N Pepa from the recent commercial they were in (Push It...). Can't say I'm much different.

Is it a lack of urgency, or a determination to find the right candidate? Do we know any details on the depth of the search, or is all of this pure speculation based on when Kest was relieved of her duties and the fact that we missed out on a supposedly good coach from Ashland? I'm sure people wanted a coach hired by now so we can save this recruiting class, but hiring the wrong person can be more detrimental to the program than missing out on a singular recruiting class.

It would be a shame if that impact was made while at Akron.

It could be a situation where Akron is saying, "Show me what you can do," in regards to recruiting. Somewhat of an audition, maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it fails to mention that Gueye is from the University of South Carolina, Parrish left, and LePear Toles will also be an addition, along with the transfers that sat out last year. With that being said, I am VERY excited for next season.

One of the comments on an article that discussed this said Goldhammer, for how embarrassing he is to the Cleveland fan base, should have to eat the horse crap as a halftime show.

Defense is a thing of the past for a lot of programs/teams. - I don't necessarily hope they were pushed out if they were 100% bought into the program, but I do hope they are replaced with better talent. I think @Captain Kangaroo hit the nail on the head. The transfers - at least in Akron's case - are being use to not only stop any bleeding quickly, but get us back on course to being a strong mid-major.

That's quite the positive spin to put on this, stating that the layoffs are due to going in a "new direction" and trying to ignore the fact that they upped the fee to make up any differences, which should bite them in the rear end as time goes on.

I hope he has elbows (no, I'm not calling for cheap shots). I'm sick of these Big Ten schools and Stanford pushing us around, not that we can't overcome that with superior skills - minus Stanford.

So as it stands right now, this thread is irrelevant? I think we're finding out very quickly that off-seasons with Groce will NOT be boring.
