That was a fun, fun game. Incredible effort and great win. Frenchy mentioned that pulls us even with CMU and we hold the tiebreaker.

Great finish to that half. The effort is there this game.

Sina is playing well on D. It's ironic that he wears #14 and looks exactly like Robotham.

Duquesne Basketball Coach Keith Dambrot

Just saw this. I laughed. I need to go read Shoo Shoo Rah Rah to see if there is any rah rah on the board. Update: I did. Whoa. -
Our rotations are going to be hockey-like to keep guys fresh.

Shoo-Shoo Rah-Rah is a fun read right now. -
Did they leave Akron off that list then?

LOVE the basketball component. This is what the MAC should've done with UMASS when they agreed to admit them as football only.

So we're playing with 7 scholarship players the rest of the season, 4 of which are freshman? Wow... I'd shut Sayles down and heal that wrist properly.

To have the opportunity to bitch about being lucky while making a Sweet Sixteen run, now that's something I want.

What Dambrot inherited vs. what he left for Groce is night and day. Last I checked, Dambrot inherited an A10 All Rookie Team member, and didn't reciprocate for Groce. With the injuries that have occurred, this season cannot be measured by wins/losses. The losing sucks, I want to win just as badly as anybody here, but that's not how I'm measuring the successes of this season now. I'm looking at the progress of our freshman, and I am very pleased. - While KLac hasn't been as big of a presence in recent games, there was a stretch there where he was a real force. He has developed some excellent post moves, has knocked down some jumpers, and his effort to get on the floor has been tremendous. - Virshon Cotton is looking like he will be solid for years to come at the point position. - Parrish, despite some frustrating moments of "what the hell were you thinking", is largely everything you can ask for in a freshman forward. He's aggressive, drives to the basket, rebounds, jumps the passing lanes. I'm really excited to see him continue to develop. - Patton is even getting more confident. He rebounds well and is starting to find more and more of his game on the offensive side of the ball. Most importantly, I like the main emphasis on building the culture to Groce's standards over getting a bunch of cheap and meaningless wins in the grand scheme of things.

Love the OLinemen. Love the size of the DBs. Love that Reggie Corner Jr. will be joining us. Love amount of Ohio recruits.
-
OU fans better drink one for the basketball gods tonight, hold up their beer to them, and say, "Dilly Dilly." They can't miss tonight from beyond the arc.
-
Not sure I'm following what you mean by "young guys" and "what's he doing".
-
Good. He eluded to this in Saturday's postgame. He's not afraid to lose if it builds the discipline he wants as the foundation for this program.

Josh and Noah were leaving regardless. Josh went to play with his brother or whatever, and Noah wanted to play closer to home. I doubt Dambrot did anything to push Antino to stay, which aggravates me. He then took Big Mike & TDM, not that I was a big fan of either but that's depth that left. Ivey is undisciplined, Utomi is still young but was underdeveloped under Dambrot (he barely played Utomi last year). Poke is Poke, and I hope he's having a speedy recovery. It's just frustrating. I'm confident Groce will get us to the next level quickly, but this year is a bit eye opening.

Love how our freshman and walk-ons play. I'm surprised Cotton isn't in there right now.
-
Classy. Oh, and the definition of a shooter is someone who makes shots.
-
I would have T'd up Mickle for the dunk after the whistle. I'm assuming that's what Grove was barking about. OU has some players I'm really going to loathe for years to come. Dartis being the main one. The more games that come and go, the more frustrated I get with how KD left.
-
That 48 point game has gone to Ivey's head. He thinks he's a shooter, putting up awful shots - hands in his face, step backs, etc.
-
Awful decision making by Duvivier early on.
-
SnobcatAttack will be a good read tonight (hopefully). I want this win more to see their reactions than for our own record/benefit. And yes, I referred to it as SnobcatAttack because they apparently don't like being referred to as the Snobcats. Also, what is this they're talking about with Buffalo fans not liking us calling them SUNY-Canada?
-
Hester may or may not be a wash with Duvivier leaving (I would assume Hester can run the point a bit better even if he's more of a 2 guard; I can't stand Duvivier at PG), but I think the ceiling for his impact is sky high. He looks like - build and highlight wise - a hybrid between some of the kids from Groce's first recruiting class and some of the kids on Buffalo that kill us every game. As rough as this year is, I think next year is going to be very, very fun. Cotton is really developing into a nice PG. We'll have some depth in the front court. Groce and staff will have a full year to recruit. But first, sweep the Kittens! IS THAT AN OPTIMISTIC TONE COMING FROM SKIP-ZIP?! Alright, who hacked Skip's account?

Between the bobbleheads and the coasters, the Man Cave is getting some nice Akron touches.

He never directly said anybody was uncoachable. I believe he said that as he builds the program and gets his system into place, he wants his guys to be coachable. I could see Utomi transferring like Gladden. His body language reminds me of Josh Williams from last year, who knew he was already leaving. Not saying Utomi is leaving, he just looks disinterested, disengaged, and beaten down. To put the focus back on the game tomorrow night, this is a must-win in my eyes for a couple different reasons. #1 We have to get the road monkey off our back. #2 Beating OU at OU in Groce's first game back since leaving for Illinois would be HUGE for the floor of the program. #3 Piggy-backing off of number 2, beating OU at OU in Groce's first game back since leaving for Illinois with our roster completely decimated by transfers, graduations, and injuries would really be salt in the wound for OU, their fans, and their program.
