You don't hire JoeMo in the first place if you aren't interested in winning. He was a top candidate for jobs across the country and we got him. The problem is, we simply saved other Universities from the disasters of JoeMo's head coaching abilities. The team is simply unprepared, undisciplined, and unfocused.

Bought tickets for this game using the Father's Day package. Ended up getting tickets to the Guardians playoff game today and moved the tickets to the Buffalo game. Glad I did. Another TD for the opponent to close the 1st half, and that proves to be the difference. JoeMo isn't a winner. I'm convinced.

Keep an eye on the brown and orange then.

Arkansas State's HC is Bryan Hodgson, who was an assistant at Buffalo from 2015-2019, and followed Oats to Alabama from 2019-2023. This probably belongs more in the game thread once @clarkwgriswold makes one (you're welcome for writing one of the paragraphs for you 😉), but I didn't want to forget this tidbit of information over the next month.

Without seeing projected revenue and salary cap/floor numbers, it's hard to say this idea solves anything. Not sure how many schools outside of the top 16 or so can actually afford much of a salary "floor". Jimmy Haslam needs to worry about his NFL franchise's failing football coach & GM. Let someone else solve the the CFB problem in the meantime.

I may be mistaken on it being a done deal. Might've been "close". CUSA won't exist for much longer. Their media contract should be divided into the Sun Belt and MAC.

Talented WRs/TE and a QB that hit guys in motion when he has time. We don't know enough about the running game yet IMO.

The real issue is coaching. Good coaches adjust their game plans to the strengths of their personnel. JoeMo is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and his lack of adjustments is astonishing.

It's a RPO scheme that takes way too long to develop behind an offensive line that doesn't provide the necessary time very often. Nobody fears Finley's legs, and they play calls require him to make some of the toughest throws (mainly out routes). There is hardly any WR separation, and we aren't scheming to get the ball into the hands of our playmakers in motion so they can beat defenders. It's an atrocious offense to watch.

Dropping down a division isn't an option. The University will fold athletically. JoeMo has every resource he needs to be successful - more than many schools, actually. Tremendous stadium, good location (NEO is a hot bed for talent), etc. Tibesar has the same resources, and his defense seems to be fine. Special teams might be some of the best in the country, at least for G5. It's simply the offense that absolutely sucks and that's solely on JoeMo. His scheme/play calling/philosophy SUCKS, especially for an "offensive genius." He doesn't need additional resources to fix that. He needs to get his head out of his Kent hole and rediscover the Fordham/Penn State/Miss State/Oregon magic.

Also a phenomenal play call/design. Play action seam route. Chef's kiss on that one.

Saquon Barkley might be the greatest running back of all time.

The line has really moved on this game in favor of Akron. Almost a must win for Joe Mo IMO.

This would be news to me. The most recent media contract is under $1M per school. It's the 3rd largest G5 media deal, behind the American and MW.

If the MAC has any sense of dignity and self respect, they'd kick all of Toledo's and NIU's athletics out of the MAC. Problem is, Steinbrecher is beholden to an image that appeals to certain groups of people, and I'm not sure he has the spine to do that.

Lots of moving pieces still until any of this is solidified. PAC12 is having trouble finding 2 more members to get to the 8 team minimum. I'm not even sure the MW teams that said they'll join are all the way out yet given the 8-team uncertainty and TV contract uncertainty. Of all the G5 conferences, the MW is sitting pretty with their ability to add NDSU, SDSU, Montana, and Montana State. Compare that crop of programs to what the CUSA/American/MAC/Sun Belt have to pick from - advantage MW. Important time for the MAC to be proactive. WKU, Liberty, Delaware, MTSU, Illinois State, etc. Start drumming up interest and planting your flag as a premier G5 conferences, instead of a fringe conference CUSA.
