I have normally been against a lot of your views on this stuff, but the recent ruling in favor of direct payment to players for just the P4 schools really pushed me to your side. If I were the commissioner of the MAC, I'd do what GP1 said and publicly call for a meeting with all G5 ADs but I'd go one step further. I'd invite any Power Conference institution that wants to get back to the more traditional roots of collegiate athletics to join. The sales pitch is a league where they'd be towards the top competitively and would be heroes saving traditional college athletics instead of the villains that power conferences have become. Once I have an agreement among AD's, take the idea to YouTube, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, etc. Go get exclusive streaming rights money. In the contract, include revenue sharing for the players that comes from the streaming company, not the schools. Have zero restrictions on NIL potential, but make NIL contractual to promote commitment to the school. Do not allow any scheduling outside of the league. No "FCS" schools, no schools from the now-semi-pro league. Keep it all in house. Operate the schedule like the NFL with set rotations, no pay days, etc. Play all playoff games on campus with a neutral site championship. Do this for every sport.

Not sure where to put this, but the Bussin's with the Boys podcast guys joined Dale Jr. on his podcast. Will Compton gave his recruiting backstory and Dale Jr. asked him who were some people texting him for recruiting. Will said that Rob Ianello really stood out because he always wanted to go to Notre Dame. That right there is exactly why even entertaining the idea of hiring a Notre Dame recruiting coordinator as your next head coach was the dumbest thing this university has ever done. Ianello could've sold 💩 to recruits as long as the Notre Dame name was on it.

This isn't very hard. - Big media market - Respected academics - Top of the MAC basketball program with tradition - Living, breathing football program Overall, UMass makes the MAC more competitive with a large market that can be sold to whichever media company gives the MAC their next TV deal. That's the bottom line. It's beating a dead horse, but the "traditional MAC schools" (mainly directional Michigan's, Balls, NIU, etc.) don't move the needle for people outside of the MAC offices. Those are the pearls the MAC has been clutching and it's nice to see them loosen the grip to accept a more competitive but non-traditional school to the MAC.

Yahoo Sports ranks Freeman as the 39th best prospect in the draft. Wow. Bronny isn't even on the list, so you know it's serious.

This is awesome. How many players are returning that had 5 plays in total to show, let alone a top 5? 😂 -

Trust me, if I were a high roller, I'd have a t-shirt cannon promo at every game just for NWAkron. I can't think of a single thing that would be a better use of my money/donor money.

Class of '24 Recruits & Verbal Commitments

Have we offered any RBs or QBs this cycle? I feel like every offer has gone to WR, OL, DB, and DL. -

JD went into Pitt and said, "Y'all had Larry Fitz because of me," and walked out with a potential stud. -
Because the previous NIL world was all under the table. Now the P4s can be held accountable for their BS.
-
This isn't the NIL world. This is the P4 world. P4s think their 💩 doesn't stink and that they can still bully everyone without repercussions. Hope Florida loses their house in the lawsuit. I wish nothing but the worst for the P4s.

Holy height. 6'3" and was a redshirt freshman last season.

I discovered over the weekend that I'm unable to participate as this game will not be released (at this moment) on PC. ZipsNation will have to carry the torch and lead Akron to the promised land.

Women's BBall coach getting in on the action.

This is going to be UNREAL. Helluva job by EA and their team on exceeding expectations with this trailer.

We have several members with degrees from other schools or have dual fandom. @GP1 gets Wake Forest @Illini Zip gets Illinois @Cykron gets Iowa State I'm sure someone will claim Ohio State Plenty of variety. 😂

"G5s can consistently compete with ~75% of the Power Conference teams, but they should go play their own National Championship because they can't compete at all with the top 10% (neither than 75% of Power Conference schools)." Loser mentality. Also, the Promotion/Relegation games would be as good if not better than "their own National Championship."

College Football 25 has its full reveal tomorrow. It's the most anticipated sports game in a VERY long time as the last college football game released in 2013. It looks like there will be 1 Ultimate Team player per school. Akron's has to be Jason Taylor - right? Or will it be more college-success-based? If so - Charlie Frye? I'm going to be all over this game, so if anyone is interested in doing a ZipsNation online dynasty, let me know.

They haven't had an easier draft decision since LeBron. Altman needs to not be an idiot.

In those 3 years, they would have the opportunity to play traditional power conference teams almost every week, including AT HOME which does not really happen in today's college football. Saying the best they can hope for is to have Vanderbilt's level of success; that's a possibility but a pessimistic "best case scenario." They could also suck those 3 years but win the promotion/relegation game and stay up for another year or more. Who knows what happens, but at least they'd have the chance to prove themselves, something that doesn't really exist in today's college football world. Players transferring out... How is that different from today's situation? You would pray for easier wins but no chance at the Playoff/National Championship? First, isn't that contradicting to "this would be great for Bama because it would create an even worse lower class?" Second, I can't relate to not wanting a shot at the highest level of achievements.
