That looks so good already with one scholly left. Wow. Obviously guys like Prather, Nate, Tavari, and Scott need to take the next steps, but this roster is so much better already with those 2 P5 additions.

Everyone is saying we need a shooter/stretch 4. Give me Josiah.

To the Debbie Downer thread with ya. Off you go! 😂

Professional Zip lied... Verbal Commits is lying... Can't trust anything anymore.

I'd prefer Josiah - from Canton and we'd have him for 2 years vs 1. Both would be great. One way to bypass the Portal struggles of chemistry? Just get past teammates to transfer in. 😂 Edit: If this is accurate information, it's most likely Josiah Harris. According to Verbal Commits, Pat is not in the Portal.

I don't care about high school rankings. These guys spent 3 years in highly competitive programs, training and learning how to win the right way. Both were taught by Huggins for the first 2 years of their collegiate careers - that's worth a lot. Huggins preaches hard-nosed, tough basketball. Seth Wilson stayed after Huggins was fired and averaged 17 minutes per game. He can shoot - great form. Why he didn't score more? No idea, but the form is there and he'll have plenty of opportunities this year if he chooses Akron. Okonkwo left after Huggins was fired and UNC wanted him. He went toe to toe with the ACC for a year, and against Bacot every day in practice. He has more film from his time at WVU, and he is a pleasure to watch. Very Freeman-esque from a positioning and motor standpoint. Doesn't have the outside shot but he would be a menace in the MAC. Xeryius Williams was barely more productive at Dayton prior to coming to Akron. Was he a failure? Duvivier was maybe slightly more productive at Oregon State - maybe - and was awesome for Groce in his first year. Forgive me if I'm missing any other examples, but on the "failure" side, I can only think of Maishe. More often than not, those who spend time in winning programs will be able to be more productive in the MAC. Should these guys choose to commit to Akron, I have zero doubts they'll find success here. -
Correct, but it's a pretty important season. I'm assuming these guys know Sharron Young, and Sharron Young knows them. Would be big to establish chemistry and roots in Akron for the entire West Virginia crew. Not to mention this team needs experience, and there is no better experience than 2, 3-year big time P5 guys.

According to Professional Zip on X, the 3rd player on campus is from a PAC12 school.

I wonder who the 3rd is. James Okonkwo and Seth Wilson are the first 2. Makes me think these guys are all but committed, and JG just wanted them to visit all at once to make sure the chemistry would be a fit. -
	😎 Let's go!!!!!

Give the guy a break. He's just happy he can pitch booze, smoking, and sex to recruits again. Quite frankly, BYU fans are probably semi OK with this. The guy never won a tourney game and finished 5th or lower in the conference 5+(?) times. -

But he can prove he bleeds blue blood at the Kentucky fan cult meetings. -
Ali Ali would've benefitted from a redshirt, though. He played in 31 games, averaged 11 minutes per game, and 1.1 ppg. He was extremely raw but Groce played him because his height and length created matchup problems for other teams. His movements his freshman year were similar to what I saw in Brisco's film - not as smooth/refined. Ali Ali was still growing into his body IIRC. Brisco might be as well? I'm not saying Brisco couldn't help this team immediately as a freshman. I just saw that video and thought a redshirt year might benefit him and us more. He's a similar size to Baker and I think Baker might be more smooth/refined from what I remember of his high school tape (and he took a redshirt).
 -
He's aware this is Bobby Hurley, not Dan Hurley, correct? Or did they offer him enough NIL to make him not care about the Crazy Hurley?
 -
He has redshirt written all over him. He reminds me of Ali Ali. Very raw but you can tell he "gets it".

Fredrick King - 6'10" 250 lbs Center from Creighton - has entered the Portal. He's from the Bahamas. I wonder if Sammy Hunter would put a good word in for us if he were to be a target of this staff. -

 -
Agreed. I figured with Dawson transferring, we would at least have 1 announced commitment this week.

His dad made the wrong school choice. He has a chance to right the ship in the family bloodline. Come to Akron. -
Scott Drew is way too good of a person for Kentucky. My wife and I honeymooned in Waco a few years ago, and our Fixer Upper tour guide (along with several other people) raved about how terrific a human being Scott Drew is. I hope he stays at Baylor.
