  1. David Coit has entered the Portal!
  2. Negative. Hankerson was a double digit scorer at NIU - 9.1 PPG at Akron.
  3. There is no floor lower than what was set by our two NIU transfers thus far.
  4. The way they officiate Edey, Freeman would've fouled out in 2 minutes.
  5. Yes please. Here's his highlight real. NAIA and stats aren't the full story. This dude is a FORCE. 6'8", very physical, and an in-game dunk contest winner. Groce & co. will coach up all the fundamentals. Get this guy in the Akron Blue & Gold.
  6. I feel stupid for not picking UCONN in my bracket. They're a wagon.
  7. Because Bama elevated themselves to become a program worth leaving for. The SEC as a whole has revamped its basketball profile. Colorado is losing Eddie Lampkin. New Mexico is losing Mashburn. The Portal can hurt everyone.
  8. The system isn't necessarily designed to screw over the MAC or bottom 15 conferences. There are nearly 50 MAC players in the Portal, but that's out of 1100+ players so far. The amount of P6s losing talent is asinine as well. The system hurts everyone who hasn't elevated themselves to be blue bloods in today's game. The MAC chose to sit on its hands for 2+ decades. The only thing they've ever been ahead of was cancelling the 2020 MAC Tournament, and that is controversial at best. When they allowed Marshall, UCF, UMass football, etc., to use their conference as a quick stepping stone, that was the first large nail in the coffin for the MAC. They then sold their souls to "separate" themselves with mid-week MACtion football, sacrificing the essence of collegiate football/athletics - Saturday GameDay environments. Steinbrecher is dying on the hill of "tradition" and blocking most, if not all "forward thought" marketing that would separate the MAC and re-establish itself as a top G5 conference. It's not a desirable conference to play in comparatively.
  9. Yes. https://www.ncaa.com/mens-final-four/future-info
  10. Utah State AD: "Tod, you have a very impressive record over the last few seasons. Why haven't I seen Toledo on Selection Sunday?" Tod: "Cleveland." Utah State AD: "Well Tod, we have aspirations of making runs in March and the Mountain West's conference tournament is in Las Vegas. And next year, Cleveland is a First & Second Round site for the Tourney. How exciting is that - right in the backyard of your old stomping grounds?" Tod:
  11. *Their entire team. All of their top production is in the Portal.
  12. There are over 1100 players in the portal currently for DI according to Verbal Commits. This is not isolated to the MAC or even G5 for that matter. Only 5 MAC teams had a winning record this year - Akron, Ohio, Toledo, CMU, and Bowling Green. For comparison, the A10's 9 seed had 20+ wins. It was a pee poor year for the MAC. Of the winning teams, Toledo is losing their coach most likely, so their departures are expected. CMU and Bowling are the head scratchers, but then again it's CMU and Bowling. Anybody worth their snuff on the court probably wants to play anywhere else but Mt Pleasant, MI, and Bowling Green, OH. Graduations will hurt the MAC more so than the Portal probably, and I think there's a good chance the influx of talent from recruiting and the Portal (eventually) will be better than what we saw with the MAC this year top to bottom.
  13. Anthony Pritchard (CMU) has entered the Portal. That means the entire All-MAC First Team is currently gone, and only one Second Team member is set to return. No Honorable Mention team members, 2 Third Team members, and 4 Freshman Team members are also set to return at this time. Still a month left of the Portal. To be fair, the MAC sucked last year. This might be addition by subtraction in some cases.
  14. I don't want to be around that stench more than I have to be - which is already 3x every year it seems.
  15. And throw the ball out of bounds on a throw away.
  16. No point in him not playing right away. With the transfer portal looking over every program, the "redshirt" is losing any sort of appeal.
  17. Odd. He entered in the beginning, re-committed to WMU, and is back in the Portal.
  18. Yes. Big fan of Dru. He has been nothing but tremendous to me during the time I've known him. Fantastic human being. Congrats to Dru!
  19. Updating this as we're up to 18/25 All MAC players in the Portal/Graduating. It would be 17/25 but B. Artis White is returning to WMU. All-MAC First Team Ali Ali, Senior, Guard, Akron Enrique Freeman, Senior, Forward, Akron Marcus Hill, Junior, Guard, Bowling Green Anthony Pritchard, Junior, Guard, Central Michigan Ra’Heim Moss, Junior, Guard, Toledo All-MAC Second Team Basheer Jihad, Junior, Forward, Ball State Rashaun Agee, Senior, Forward, Bowling Green Jaylin Hunter, Senior, Guard, Ohio Dante Maddox Jr., Junior, Guard, Toledo Tyler Cochran, Junior, Guard, Toledo All-MAC Third Team Brian Taylor, Graduate Student, Guard, Central Michigan Tyson Acuff, Junior, Guard, Eastern Michigan Jalen Sullinger, Junior, Guard, Kent State David Coit, Junior, Guard, Northern Illinois AJ Clayton, Junior, Forward, Ohio All-MAC Honorable Mention Greg Tribble, Senior, Guard, Akron VonCameron Davis, R-Junior, Forward, Kent State Anderson Mirambeaux, Senior, Center, Miami Darweshi Hunter, Graduate Student, Guard, Miami B. Artis White, R-Junior, Guard, Western Michigan MAC All-Freshman Team Arne Osojnik, Guard, Eastern Michigan Eian Elmer, Wing, Miami Will Lovings-Watts, Guard, Northern Illinois Javan Simmons, Forward, Toledo Sonny Wilson, Guard, Toledo
  20. At most - half. Most MAC programs have their top 2-3 producers from last season in the Portal. I doubt those guys are being told they won't have guaranteed playing time or a spot on the roster next season. To deliver a shock and awe effect with his tweets, that Tyler fellow would be better off driving into the production of the players in the Portal instead of the quantity. 46 players sounds like a lot, and it technically is, but it leaves the door open for questions like yours, 1981 - "how many are told to leave?" "60% of the MAC's total points scored in the 2023-24 season have entered the transfer portal. An additional 20% of the total points will have graduated, leaving only 20% of the total scoring production returning at this point next season." Those numbers aren't real, but they're probably not far off from the truth and really hammer home how much the MAC has seemingly lost so far. Will some in the portal currently return to their initial MAC school? Probably - one already has for WMU. But most will find new chairs to sit in during this wild game of Musical Chairs.
  21. DJ Burns is in the Portal. And by DJ Burns, I mean the Youngstown State DJ Burns, not the NC State DJ Burns. Basically, this is the TEMU/Wish.com version.
  22. Zeke Mayo, G from South Dakota State, is in the Portal. 18.8 PPG. I don't know how much the @clarkwgriswold fund has in it, but we need to empty it and bring two Jackrabbits into Akron - Mayo & Williams III.
  23. Al Davis said it best, "Just win baby win!" Good get for Miami.
  24. CMU's coach has to be taking interviews with other schools... Right?
