  1. His interview on McAfee the other day makes me think he'll be staying at UCONN.
  2. Considering Reggie Witherspoon (former Buffalo coach) is who Jim is replacing, you're not wrong. But who is gonna hold Pinky's leash now?
  3. I suspect we'll have some commitments this week for Akron.
  4. Calipari to Arkansas. Wow. That was not on my off-season Bingo card.
  5. Geno Ford product.
  6. Play. Basketball. In. Basketball. Arenas.
  7. At least the initial school would receive compensation if the other school pays off the existing contract. The latter point is certainly valid and something I'm sure people smarter than me can figure out (which means PCCC is screwed).
  8. It's good in certain ways. There is now an incentive to stay in college rather than going pro. The longer players stay in college, the better the game is. The downside is the lack of chemistry that builds and the lack of a connection that fans can build with their team's players. However, I think this changes to become more restricted. If NIL becomes more multi year contractual, that solves that problem.
  9. Yes. There are 1300+ players in the Portal - about 1/3rd of all college players. About 50-75% of P6s are experiencing multiple players leaving. For example, Colorado just had Eddie Lampkin leave for Syracuse. You can sort this by previous school or new school. Fascinating to follow.
  10. That was a pleasure to watch. Freeman was a stud. Once the chemistry settled in and his rotation of teammates played more traditional half court college basketball, Freeman really rose to the occasion. Him wearing the on court can, too, was pretty neat.
  11. My goodness UMass is so far ahead of most MAC programs, and I'm not just talking about NIL. They understand what it takes to compete and win on the bigger stages. Their fan base is well educated and high IQ, at least when it comes to sports. The knuckle draggers to our east are still working on spelling N-I-L. Great read - thanks for sharing!
  12. Those Diddy parties are better than Northeast Ohio parties for him I guess. "Just a Kid from Akron" I do hope Bronny goes to the NBA so I can tune him out like I do the rest of the NBA and just focus on real basketball - college ball.
  13. 4.8 PPG is now good enough for the NBA Draft apparently. nOtHiNg Is GiVeN. eVeRyThInG iS eArNeD. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  14. You should put the dates and geographical location for the home games to really hammer this home. 1 home game in September. 2 home games in October (1 late October). The rest are in November. In Ohio.
  15. BUGS gets a Freshman (will be a Sophomore) guard from Arizona State - Braelon Green. Didn't play many minutes but did appear in nearly every game (if not all).
  16. Just look at our football stadium. You can build the biggest, nicest facilities in the world, but if the culture is a losing one, it won't matter. Directional Michigan's have had losing cultures in their basketball programs for 2 decades. WMU has had the most success of the 3, and their Row the Boat football success is really what elevates them. The plan for their stadium is a solid, big picture one, but for it to mean anything for their basketball program, they'll have to commit to creating a culture of success instead of hiring the cheapest retread coaches they can find. It also has nothing to do with NIL, and we have no idea what their NIL looks like for basketball.
  17. Eastern Michigan's arena did wonders for their program and fan support.
  18. Dan Hurley - is that you?
  19. Just because the public hasn't been as involved doesn't mean the behind the scenes work isn't on pace or ahead of other G5s. We just had a class of 5 seniors graduate - 3 of which spent 4+ years each at Akron, including an All American. There's clearly something in the background that has been in place to incentivize being at Akron. Instead of calling BS on Wentz, maybe we should be looking at applauding what he's probably heavily funding.
