every team has bottom feeders in thier divison.not every conference has a entire divison full of them.plus our rpi is not going to get us in post season play.winning the last three,and we are conf champs.we are worst case in the nit.

i totally agree bring on three bcs teams.of course we just built a new stadium; so none of the games will be played there.start the season 0-3,and have about 15,000 fans opening day.then have about 5,000 fans for every game after that.this team has hadthree losing seasons in a row.they need to win games not get pounded by bcs teams.im am glad you are not the a.d. of akron.

i know alott of fans want us to play a harder schedule.how is it akron fault though when the entire west divison has lower rpi than akron.i have seen numberous times for the selections show when teams like Can't ,buffalo a few years ago,and akron are left out.the mac is a one bid leauge.if we went out and played a harder schedule the committe would say we don't have enough wins.if we pay a easier schedule they will say we need a harder sos,or rpi.we are not the only team to get dissed by the committe.when you win 26 games ,and don't even make it to the nit.that not a rpi,sos problem.it's a perception problems with akron,and the entire mac.the only way you fix this is by winning,and building a name for your program.i think kd has done a good job of that with the ncaa appearance last year,and going to the nit.the other problem is the mac is viewed as a low mid major.unless the leadership changes in the mac office that will never get fixed.akron had thier chances for a better rpi this year by beating texas a.m.,n.c. state,and not losing the first game at home.miami played hard schedule this year.do you think they have a chance for an at large bid?

when steve is making his 3 pt shots he is an assett to the team.when he is not making them in a certian game then he hurtsthe team.kd should have enough sense to take him ,but he does not.he's the coach so at the end of the season he is responsible.the only two complaints i have are playing zeke more which kd is doing,and watching steve's min.if he is hitting his 3pt keep him in.

unfortunately kd does not use our depth as much as he should.we should win this game but we need steve,roberts humptyto hit 3 pt shots.if they don''t it puts alott of pressure on our front court guys.

i guess steve was passing the two 30 ft wo balls that went up towards the basket,and ronnie fell down on those two also.stats don't matter.all that maters is getting dunked over on national tv.the play even made sports center.i am not saying steve should not play,but his pt doesn't justify his min.

everyone who said the game was close,and the zips were lucky to win need to look at the stat sheets.i am not trying to jump all over steve mc neese,but what is kd doing.steve played 39 min shot 2-8 from fg.1-7 from 3pt line.he had a grand total of 7 pts in a two overtime game. he did get 2 reb wow, along with 2 turnovers.i saw him launch two three pointers without even looking if someone else is open.there are other guys on this team who are playing less min with the same numbers, or better.humpty-(10 pts 4-8 fg,2-2 3pt ,in 27 min plus 3 asst.) roberts-23 min 2-7 fg, 5 pts, 4 reb,2asst. mc clanahan-10 min 4pts 1 reb 2-3 fg line.i just don't get why steve is in the game 39 min.we have three other guys who can do as good,or can do better.he ran down the court, and put up two 30 footers without even looking for an open teammate.yet kd keeps him in the game even if he misses every shot.any other player that did that would be pulled.when steve is hitting his shots especially his three pointers then keep him in the game.he helps this team win when he is shooting,and making points.games like yesterday should not have been that close if mc clanahan,humpty,or roberts played more min.to have a guy play 39 min when you have other guys like humpty,roberts,mc clanahan,steward is crazy.we probably would have won in reg if kd would have played are other guys more min.i know zeke was in foul trouble,but i hope kd plays him more.when he was in the game ou went more to outside shooting,and did not have any post up people who hurt us. i love kd, and i am not trying to pick on steve.steve has had some great games for us. i just hope kd decsions on giving pt from game to game don't cost in the mac tourney.some god news is eastern crushed western66-52.our loss to them is not looking so bad now.bg beat miami 67-64.everything is falling into place for the zips.they need to take care of business at miami.

it sounds like the perfect time to be playing them.i hate to see thier coach under fire since he is a fromer zip.at the same time the zips need to jump out on these guys early.as long as been on the zip board i have never seen alott of disrespect for another poster.we may not agree with each other,but i respect other people's opinion.even thoughthere are some things i disagree with gp on there are alott of issues that i totally agree with him on.the vcu boardis showing alott of turmoil,and venom. which i don't see very much on the zip board.now is the perfect time to be playing them.

i think a big problem is the akron administration in the a.d. dept.we can't keep an a.d. long enough to really get a long term plan for each sport.the sad part is akron is just stepping stone for a better job.once the a.d. gets here he is looking for another job already.im not saying they dont do ther job,but they are always looking for the next job.i was surprisedthey did not offer the job to faust.they had to pay him anyways for a few years,and he has not left akron.maybe he does not want the job? even though he had a rough time at n.d. i think he is still well liked even at n.d. they need to hire and a.d. who is going to stay for more than 1-2 yrs.

the fans that want us to schedule better teams would be the same one's complaining about kd when we lose those games.plus you would start to see the trolls come out when we lose two ,or three in a row.i remember when we lost to dayton two year ago some zips fans were questioning kd ability to coach.gp was leading the way,and it was alott more than him.you need to look at your post after the dayton game.the same thing would happen if we lost four-five in a row by playing on the road against top 50 teams.the board would fill up with unhappy fans questioning kd coaching ability.

torrence can run the ball if given the chance.i now jd pulled him because he fumbled,and he tried to bounce plays outside.i think jd really blew not playing him more last year.all of the rb fumbled last year.none of them seemed to have the talent of torrence.hopefully the new coach can handle the situation better.if someone is better at rb then great.i think last year jddid not play the best rb.

i have to agree with gp.people forget how bad this team was last year.i don't care how good the coach is you are not going to turn things around in one year.can they be better than last year yes.but to think we can beat three bcs teams is insane.they need to win games to build confidence,and get people in the seats.the schedule sets us up to be 1-3.kentucky is an sec team.we would not win a game in the sec.i don't have a problem opening with cuse at home,or gardner web.this team needs to play winnable home games.go find a sunbelt team to play home & home and i would feel alott better about the schedule.how many people are going to show up if we are 2-2,or 1-3.it's the same crap every year.go on the road against bcs schools and lose.we have a new stadium yet we are going on the road for two bcs teams.

does anyone know how long the suspension is..the good news is we have ohio at home.hopefully the bigsnik. c mcnight .zeke.conyers can do some damage inside,and make people forget about brett for one night.i am not saying brett is not a good player ,but other people have to step up like mc neese/zeke did for us last game.that's why players have to be ready to play anytime.i still would like to get zeke more involved in the offense,buti realize we have alott of guards that can score.if nothing else why not pass the ball to zeke.he is an excellentpasser,and can set up some open shots for are guards.

kd needs to get zeke more pt.he is the one player that other teams worry about going inside.when we played texas a.m. he shut them down inside.if zeke can do that against a top 30 team then the mac teams should not be a problem.

if kd suspended him im sure he has a good reason.i don't get how kd is losing control of the team.he suspened humpty for one game,and now brett.now is the time for mc neese to do what he did the last game.zeke has so much potentialhopefully he will get more pt.zeke is the one guy we have that can shut down the middle.brett is a great player,but we have other guys like zeke that just need to play more min.with brett we are alott better offensive team.with zeke in the middlewe are alott better defensive team.now maybe he will get more pt to show what he can do.

maxzip i started a thread yesterday about steve.he is giving us nothing on the offesive end.yet kd still plays him alottof min.steve needs to start making the 3-ball, or it will catch up to the zips.kd needs to play humpty,and roberts as much as possible.it's kd team he can do what ever he wants.i just think playing steve 20-30 min game is crazy.

i just wondered if anybody understands how kd gives out pt.like one poster said that zeke makes a good play on a block shot,and then he is taken out.i looked at the stats of the last four games.i am in no way picking on steve mc neese.the stats don't lie though. western 27 min 8 pts fg% 50% 3PT % 50%, toledo 25 min 3pts fg 16% 3pt % 16%,eastern 34 min 4 pts fg% 0 3pt % 25%, n.ill 23 min 2pts 0fg% 3pt% 10%. why is he getting so many min.why not give some min to steward,and see what he can do? in the four games he has played 8min 3pts,7 in 3pts,7 min 3pts,5min 0 pts. he has pretty miuch the same stats in about 1/4 the pt. i am not saying steve should not play,but why not give more min to steward,and mc clanahan.how could they do any worse? kd is a great coach for some reasonsteve is always out there.

it sounds like this kid can shoot well.that's a big plus if a 6'8 kid can hit the 3pt shots.it forces another big man to come out and guard him which leves more space inside.plus most big guys are not very good at coming out to guard a guy at the 3pt line.if teams play zone he could really help us then also.the biggest questions is if the kid can play defense? kd won't play anyone unless they can play d.i am hoping he can at least hold his own on the d-side of the ball.if he can then this kid coould help us next year.

zeke needs to get more pt.i the guy is not going to get better sitting on the pine.when zeke is in the game teams are lesslike to go inside.this is something that does not show up on stats.i realize you have to earn your playing time.bardo is not going to do what zeke does so why not give the min to zeke.plus zeke is a good passer which is another weapon.we know what this team can do when zeke was not here.our biggest players is nik at 6-8,and chris at 6-7.while those guys are solid players they don't scare anybody like marshall does.

i think the new coach at d-line is the most important hire.our d-line has never been anything more than average.we can never rush the passer on a consistent basis.with the 3-3-5 you were blitzing guys that were about 200,and the o-line was 290.we need a coach who can find guys who can rush the passer.i saw numerous times where we had teamsin 3rd and long.the qb from the other team would 5-8 seconds to throw the ball.

i am glad to see the change in offense.it sounds like they are going to some kind of more traditonal offense.i think this will help the qb position out more.you could see more play action passes.running the spread takes great skill at wr,and a qb that can run.neither of which we will have next year.im sure teams will put 5-8 poeple in the box to stop the run.this should mean single coverage for all the wr,rb,and te.hopefully we will see devo at hb since jd is gone.i am not sure about martinsince he has been hurt.the first year might be tuff to fill the te,and fb spots.we should be able to get some decent playersat those positions next year; since alott of teams use the spread.the next question is what kind of defense he is going to run.4-3,or 3-4 is alott better than the 3-3-5.with the 3-3-5 you need three huge linebackers,and 5 db that can fly to the ball.plus he needs to find some bigger db's to stop the run.

i usually don't get on kd,but some of his personell moves don't make sense.steward looked good for the pt he played.he can handle the ball,and does not turn it over.he even had a nice move to score on one play.i realize roberts was hurt. why was steve,brett mc lanahan getting so much pt. when they don't deserve it.steve made a few three's early,and took the rest of the game off.he goes down the floor and shoots a 40 footer.next series throws the ball away.the last play of the second half has a turn over the gives ohio two points.missed a technical foul shot,and front end of a one on one.bassett shoots a three right over him when everybody knew they needed a three.had a ten second call on him.brett mc clanahan can't hit a broad side of a barn.niether of the guys are defensive stars by any means.i am not blaming any of these guys for bad play. i just don't know why kd won't let steward play more when the other guys are playing bad.
