the point is -everyone is blaming luke for the losses this year.alott of the same fans wanted him benched midway throught last season also. the reason we are losing is because we are the most penalized team in the mac,coaches can't make adjustments at halftime,and we have no running game. the perfect example of the coaching staff is at Can't.crouch was getting his butt kicked by Can't's defensive end all day.why didn't akron keep a back ,or te in to help him.instead akron just usuing the same pass protection,and luke kept getting killed. to blame luke for the losses this season is crazy.there are alott of other problems starting with the coaching staff on down.

it's amazing how fast some fans can turn on a player.all i heard last year mid way through the season was to bench luke.i could see him taking the blame except that 1.we are most penalized team in the mac.2. the short yardage and red zone are terrible. 3. most games are leading rusher has about 50 yards. how many times have we been inside the ten. and come away with nothing.where does this great defense come from last year. our d was horrible and memphis,and niu. i do think we should play cj now only becuase the mac chmapionship, and bowl bids are done.

the only problem is that those #2 recruiting classes were based on the players we inked at the time. if you look now most of the top guys will never play a down for akron.im not so sure that in year four we will be farther along. i do think our defense is way ahead of anything owens had. the offense is another matter. i was not a big fan of l.o. ,but his teams could score some points. hopefully one of the qb's can step up next year. we also need to develope some young ol for next year.

while i thought the talk of the 10-2 season after the nc state win was crazy there is no reason this team should be 3-5 either. the bad thing is you cannnot tell me Can't,ou,cmu have more talent than akron.this is a team who won the mac coming back with 16 starters. our short yardage ,and red zone offense is terrible. how many times this year did we have third/short and get stuffed. we get inside the ten and seem to always come up with 0 points. at this point we need to play some more rb besides kennedy.i like dk, but we need to see some other guys get some experience for next year at ol,rb. we also need to get some other qb's some pt. im not saying bench luke at all.the fact is i cringe at the thought of a inexperinced qb ,and rebuilt ol next year going in at osu. no reason (none) the zips should not win the next two games. temple beat bg (enough said). if we lose to either of these two teams it's not because of lack of talent.

when you cannot get a third and one yard your in trouble. we have no running game.

for us to win the mac alott of things are going to have to happen that are beyond our control.while Can't may lose to ou,but i am being realistic that i dont see them losing two mac games;much less three for the tiebreaker. we still can have a good season, and maybe things will fall our way.if Can't does beat ou the mac is over at that point.

who would have thought miami, and toledo would have three wins combined more than halfway through the season.i thought the zips were havng a bad start,but those two programs fans are not use to losing. toledo has always had good attendance for a mac school. it will be interesting to see how much fan support they get the rest of the way.

when you can run the ball,and play defense good things happen. akron did and we won.way to many penalties though. it seems like every game is going to be a struggle from here on in. toledo has really fallen off though.hopefully we can get back to 500. next week.maybe now everyone will let the cj thing die.(or at least one week please.*

the thing that will hurt Can't this year is if they do win the mac,and /or if they win a bowl game i would think martin is gone. any coach who can turn in a team that had 2 winning seasons in 20 years will get the attention of the bcs schools. it's really doesn't matter what Can't can offer him money wise. no mac shcool has the revenue of the bcs schools.

why would you think it will be w big crowd? the teams have three wins between them.miami will bring no-one. we probably won't hit the ncaa target for d-one teams;so it will be interested to see what the ncaa will do this year ? i think they are asking for a bunch of lawsuits of they try to bump 10-15 teams down to 1-aa.

we could have jim brown running the ball for us.at this point it really doesn't matter since the line is not blocking. if we get allen back next year our rb's will be fine.we need to find some ol for next year.

i agree with the captn. we had the same disscussion last year about replcaing luke. luckily the coaching staff did not do that. the main problem is our running game is terrible.not just bad ,but terrible. against cinnci we had 65 total rushing yards.kennedy had 29. you won't beat teams when your leading rusher gains 29 yards.

he couldn't get the job done? we won he mac, and he passed for over 400 yards against memphis.i wish all the players on are team could not get the job done. every year like lukedid last year. i agree he did have good wr and and biggs last year. this year those people are not getting it done.dropped passes ect. luke can not throw it to himself.

you right .if it was not for north texas we would have one win. we need more 1 for one games. if the team is not willing to give a return visit /then don't schedule them. with the 12 th game it gives more non bcs schools leverage now. i realize the top teams will not do one for one's like osu. that still leaves three non conference games to schedule home n home.

the fate of the mac race all comes down to Can't. unless they stumble there is no hope for the zips.they have five mac games left.if they win three of the five were most likely w out of it.all we can do is win,and hope for the best.considering they have ohio,ball state,toledo,eastern,and buffalo it would take alott for them to lose 3 of the five. hopefully Can't will lose this week ,and then there may be a crack in the door.

we went to our first bowl game last year.name one team in college football that does not win year in year out that draws well?? look at all the teams that draw well. osu ,fsu,auburn. they win. look at our program. in the faust era how many winning season did we have? if osu started losing they would gradually lose the fan base.im not saying in one year, but if they finshished 4-8 for a few years ;their attendance would drop alott. i don't care if we build a new stadium if we go 2-9,4-6 for a few years no one will show.

the reason the zips don't draw is we don't win.everyone loves a winner.we had 15k travel to detroit for our bowl game. the games are on the weekends; so i dont think that having to drive to the games at night is good excuse either. if we start to win people will come. last year we played Can't in the snow bowl. that was one game that attendance could be blamed on the weather.other than that game everything else just doesn't hold up to me. it's all about winning!

does not matter how they did it.backed in/ fell into who cares!! they are mac champs. im sure the other mac schools that were not the mac champs last year would like to be overhyped. like akron was last year.

the one thing i am seeing is how balanced the mac is this year.it's getting like the nfl. i don't know if the league is balanced, or all the teams that bad? how do we beat nc state then lose all these games. n.c. state did beat bc,and florida state. like ck said the talent is there to win games,but no one is stepping up on offense to get the job done.i do think the defense (except for Can't) has played well. when you don't have a running game / not scoring alott of points; it makes the defense job 10x harder.

i have to agree gozips. the schedule is now in our favor.we still have to win the games but unless i read the records worng we do not play anyone left with over .500 record now. toledo and wmu have both fallen back also. miami/buffalo have not won a game.i dont really count the temple win for buffalo. if we can right the ship we can still salvage a decent ,but not great season.

i thought luke played a good game.other teams now know we have no running game. they can pretty much play pass every down ,and come at getsy. when luke did have time the wr dropped the balls,or we went offsides. that's where the coaches have to find a way to run the ball . when your leading rusher has 29 yards you not going to beat many teams.

man how quickly we forget that he led us to the mac champoinship ,and threw for over 400 yards is the bowl. i guess it was just a fluke. does anyone honestly think that the other qb's are better.the problems is not luke. our leading rusher kennedy rushed for 29 yards. that's right 29 yards. we had a total of 59 yards rushing!! luke was 16-33 passing ,and had at least six balls dropped.one for a td to harvey. also what about the all the offsides penalites.if you cannot hear the count then just look at the ball when it's snapped. it's not that hard to stay onsides. i just wish we would quit blaming one guy for the losses. the blame falls on the coaches, and the whole team.

give me a break. there is no way luke is to blame on this game. we have no running game. tons of penalties,and our wr cannot catch the ball. there were at leat six passes that should have been caught. until we can run the football a little bit we are not going to win games.i do wish kennedy would quit trying to outrun the whole denfese by bouncing outside all the time. just get up feild, and take the four to five yards.

i agree it does not excuse the poor play,but akron needs to start scheduling winnable home games. that means non bcs schools home and home. your are right about the 12 th game (north texas). if we did not have n.texas we would have been 1-4 right now!!!

now maybe we can stop hearing about a bowl game, and just try to win one game.
