that's a real good point on the kicking game.we had the ball in the red zone alott and came up with no points.no one wants to settle for a fg,but it takes alott out of a team when you dirve 80 yards and come up with 0.points.

should have been (61 against cmu), and (107 against toledo.)

why we lost games this year-rushing stats for our losses( 53 against cinnci),(-4 against ou),(61 against cmu),(73 against Can't),(107 against cmu).i realize some of the stats add losses for our qb,but still it's pretty bad. -4 against ou.how are you going to beat anyone rushing for -4 yards.

i think luke has taken allot of criticism this year. i for one can't put much of the blame on just him. the main reason is when we lose games is we have no running game. how are you going to win games rushing for 60 yards a game. no one seems to mention that.if we rushed for 150-200 yards a game, and lost then you would have to look at the qb. i also think losing hixson,biggs,and montgomery hurt more than i thought it would. how many passes have our wr dropped that were easy catches? not to sound negative,but next year does not look all that promising. i hope im wrong but we are going into the shoe with a new qb next year. we also need three new starters at ol ,and no depth.jd has his work cut out for him next year.

i think for the most part the defense has played well this season.especially compared to years past.you can't blame the defense for giving up points, and yards when the offense is going three, and out all the time.in the ou game we could not run the ball to eat up some clock ,and give the d some rest.until we are able to run the football against the top teams(not buffalo) it won't matter what defense we run.

please.saying the zips are an embararassment is really overdramatic. i don't think everyone at the osu/michigan game is saying."i watched the zips on espn u ,and they are an embarassment to d-1 football.first of all the truth is very few people attend our games, watch on tv ,or even care about akron football. the only thing that will get us noticed is winning.until we do that very few people follow the program enough to even make a statment like that.

i think the season got out of hand after we beat nc state.everyone started talking crazy things like 10-2 seasons. we barely won our divsion last year,and won the mac championship on the last play. that's not to say we did not win it ,but we were hardly a mac powerhouse last year.our defense got rolled the last two games of 2005.i think expectations for this team got way out of hand while the other teams like Can't,and ou got better.for me this season is going about what a thought at the start of the year. i thought 7-5.we could still be six and six.im not happy with that ,but i don't think this team was that good to begin with in 2006.i think everyone thought we were alott better than we really were to start off the season.

who is this talent on the bench? do you have any names ?

i dont agree about jd promising getsy playing time.getsy led us to the mac championship last; so you bench him this year for the whole season?who would lyou ike him to put in? do you honestly think if we had a better qb he would sit on the bench. don't you think some of players would be complaining about it to. i seriously doubt that. as for now hopefully he will let some of the other qb gets some pt for next year now that we are out of it.

i also voted for jim tressell as the number one coach in the country over myself.

unfortunately. i agree with rowdy.no use fighting this thread over ,and over. espn could care less about mac football, or what mac fans think.were basically a fill for air time,and when something better comes; mac games are moved to espnu.espnu which no can get on cable.akron got screwed last year for the Can't game; which we moved for them.we got to clinch the mac east on espn u. we were replaced on espn2 by world poker tour re-run. that pretty much sums it up. that's how much espn cares about the mac.world poker tour re-runs are more important than mac football.they are going to pimp the big match ups,and no matter how much we complain .it's not going to change it.

we lost because we got our butss kicked on the boards. no reason for a team to get a rebounds off foul shots,but u alr did.

my whole point is that it's one game not the end of the world. you said if we could have beat u alr,and texas tech, neveda, we would get an autmomatic bid.we did not so it does not matter. if we win the mac tourney were in. if you think playing well in the regular season gets an automatic bid it does not.we could win 22 games this year, lose in the first round,and not make the ncaa tourney. we win the mac tourney were in. in that's simple.

the regular season is important? unfortunately you need to ask (esp.buffalo)the mac teams that won 22 plus games ,and sat home for the ncaa tourney that question.what you do in the mac tourney is what matter.

this is not football.it's one game,and know one know s how good ua lr is right now. if we are 5-5 after ten games then it''s time to panic. bottom line is the regular season does not mean much.if you don't win the mac tourney the chances of making the are slim at best .we have seen that year after year.the mac is usually a one bid conference.i do agree why did not ced have the ball. he is the one guy who can shoot the three,and handle the ball.

a zips crazy .i never heard of the ncaa about to pass that rule anywhere.where are you getting these freshman transfer rules? if you have some facts somehwere please?

where do you see 9 to 10 wins? we lose our o-line ,dl and qb.im not saying that the zips won't be good,but your going into next year with alott of unproven players.if we had better guys in front of them they would be playing already.

i don't know if it's a good thing or bad when your best player is a freshman.i think h.harvey is the zips mvp so far.

i heard the crouch over /under for penalties in the ou game is three.im hoping by the 11th game he will improve to just two but ya never know.

like the previous poster saidthe only good thing is it gives our kicker some game experience, and confidence. ill take the three. how many times have we went down in the zone and came away with nothing.

from what i have read, and don't know if true or not. a 7-5 team must be picked to go to a bowl before any 6-6 bcs team? i don't know how that would play out of were 6-6?the person said the bcs conferences would do some back door deals to give all of their teams bowls.but if the rule is true could a 6-6 bcs team go to a bowl with a tie to thier conference? all kind of confusing at this point.

ck i agree 100% with you.we won the game,but i hate to see the game decided that way.i just don't see how the ref can make that call.at best it's a no call. we won ,and finally jd went to a double te to crouch's side to protect him.it ony took him 8 games figure that out.

the pass should not have been thrown.luke did a hell of job just to get away becuase our line cannot pass block! it should have been a sack.how times has the de come off the corner, and sacked luke.time after time we see the same thing,and jd does nothing.put a te ,or fullback to help him out if he can not get the job done.if jd can not figure that out we our in trouble.

the bb -ball team is not the football team.kd is a proven winner.the trouble we might have is woods is not near 100%. we did lose a 6-8,6-9 players which we is not easy to replace.if either of the two freshman can give any kind of pt that may sove alott of the problem.
