My 2 cent.................I'm pulling like a mutha for him to succeed, but I'm leary he got famous before he got good.Keep in mind, the 3 workhorses for the club the past few seasons were known quantities he brought over, not recruited and developed (Brett B., Andy and Luke).This year is the real test.

Our good buddy "ZipDude" sent me this note..............and after some editing on my part to maintain annonymity, here it is:I wanted to close this chapter and the loop and let you know that after (some amount) days in the hell known as Baghdad, Iraq, (his daughter) returned home. She is coming (home) next week and I cannot wait to see her. Although we have only talked on the phone, she did not get injured (other than a 20 hour cramped trip on an airplane that used to be owned by the singer/actress JLo), she is ok. She has tales of danger (unexploded mortars fired into the “Green Zone” and then once they figured out where they were, rockets), grateful she does not need to carry a pistol on her hip, and I am certain pictures galore. She does not have to go back unless she wants to and in order for that to happen, she says the financial incentives have to be “out of sight”. She also has a completely different attitude about the “region” and the people who live there as well as an opinion as to our leaders in Washington who voted to pull the rug out from underneath our military forces. Thank you for your prayers and thoughtsWhen she went some time ago, I remember quite a few of us wishing our UA Booster Buddy and his family good luck..............This is better news than a "W" over Can't State I'll bet for him! Coming clean for my boy G.............We can make only 2 games at the bowl, so why spring for season tickets?We'll be at the Stadium (obviously) but I can't imagine not being able to walk up and take my pick of the best available at the gate.So like I said University of Akron Season Football Tickets = No PulseI liked the piece...........a lot. I guess I'll stick my "2 cent" in now, since the Dude has come out of nowhere to put something up in this thread.Well...........if you check back, you'll find there's no bigger fan of C Frye than Z-P. Personally, and Professionally. Same goes for his family and the Willard Posse. They're all great in their own ways.However, every year I shell out for 4 season tickets at the Stadium (never mind the investment in my PSL's). It's a nice tidy sum. I'd like to have a little fun out of the investment, thank you very much.If Phil and RAC thing BQ MIGHT POTENTIALLY be a step up,................I'm all for giving it a look see. And I think the way the selection went down took the "polish off the turd" a little bit too.Here's a crazy thing...........the Sarge and I were in the car when the 1st pick was announced. We both screamed with joy, because Big Joe was the right way to go in our humble opinions. Too bad for all the aholes who wanted BQ taken (biggest being Trivisano) Phil did the right thing. Then we started listening to BQ slide. We abandoned the car (radio) and tee'd off so we were out of touch for a few hours.What a shock to learn what had happened.................but you know what? I'm OK with it. BQ got a taste of the humility we all get fed from time to time. We felt bad for C. He must have gone from sky high to the bottom of the barrell in a short period of time.However..............both Charlie and BQ are now going to have to work their asses off to get the job. I'm OK with that too. That's the real world.I haven't heard Charlie disrespected by anyone officially associated with the team. All I keep hearing from those quarters is the job is open. Hell, my job is open if anyone can prove themselves better than me at it..................that's life. Suck it up.So, good luck Superman! We're with you, but earn the job, and a few victories along the way would help matters too.He'll be OK. If his style of speaking and appearance start to wear on the media (compared to BQ) and they (the media) can pressure a change, so be it. That's some more of the real world. He might have to hook up with another team or two before he can blossom. I'm thinking (to myself) That's your job man, suck it up and stand up for your players, fans and coaching staff! I'm thinking what does he mean GET a good schedule with a few home games on it..............get in there and fight for us man! You go fight and GET US a good schedule with at least 6 home games on it.The way I see it, we are OWED home games. Instead of letting "THEM" GIVE us 4 or 5, get in and demand 7 or 8 because we were shorted!From the lack of response to this thread, it looks like no one else heard the interview, and that may be good for the a.d. Did anyone else catch the 1/2 time interview with the a.d. ?It sounded like Frenchy was talking to a "spokesman" for the "victim".Stuff like "Gee, I hope THEY let us have 6 home games in 2009" and similar. What was that? The a.d. should have a plan, and be sounding like "THIS IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO" not act like a helpless victim...............he sounded to me like an observer and not a MANAGER...........Maybe it was just me...............anyone else catch that?

Here is mine.............the neatest thing about what KD has going this year is the way he can quickly and effectively change the teams "identity" by juggling the lineup.Example.............he comes out conventional with his starting lineup, goes thru his sub rotation until he starts to sniff trouble, then BOOM...............brand new look on the floor with "18 feet of guards" and a high post. The ability to shake up the floor like this is something I'm really enjoying!A close second is the slow but steady development of the guys off the bench (I mean 6 thru 9).............What do you like?

Raw deal? No, not really.When a coach comes into a program at our level (base level for D1A guys) he has a very short time within which to "play all his cards"................by that I mean bring in assistants he knows can get results, and pull in recruits he knows he can "lead' into his program "on the come".............think Urban Myers at BG (whom Lee beat BTW at BG).Lee took his best shot, and it didn't work out. He did some exciting things, but became burned out seeing his best staff guys quit and go elsewhere (think Joe Palmisano and the two guys who went to UM and their names slip me), and his top recruits either flunk out, get kicked out or just plain bail out of a college education. (Think Butter Smith and Kyle Fromholtz)It was time.............He's still tops in my book on the personal side, and I will always "be on his team" in that regard...........to repeat myself, buenos suerte Coach!
