  1. Looks like this guy is coming for a visit this weekend. A couple of the Zips coaches Liked the above tweet. Trey Coleman, RB, 5-11, 213, Hutchinson CC, West Monroe HS, West Monroe, LA The Hutchison CC Football website states his previous college as Tennessee. 24/7 lists him with offers from us, UMass & Toledo. Rivals.com lists him coming out of high school as a 3-star prospect with offers from Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana Tech & Iowa State
  2. Keyondre White entering the Transfer Portal. Not terribly surprising. Good luck, Keyondre!
  3. I'm sure he'll sign his LOI on the 2nd Wednesday of November - the NCAA early signing day. So we'll know whether or not he'll be a Zip next year prior to the start of this season.
  4. ABJ/GT: Snail's pace on offense leaves Zips to dig out from under problems
  5. I think so. I think we get him next year. It'll be fun to watch how he performs at Mott JC this season.
  6. 7:09 & ESPN+ is still telling me the event has not started yet?
  7. ABJ: Another nightmarish first half dooms Zips The writer is correct: 3 weeks, 3 slow starts.
  8. I think @zzx thinks UA should think about recruiting Marquez Parks? ?
  9. ABJ Akron -v- CMU "scouting report" ?
  10. You could watch Jordan get better as the game went on. It was fun to watch. His high school film impressed me. He's gonna be a good one.
  11. Well, 6 P's, actually.
  12. ABJ/GT: Zips looking for a run game to balance the offense I'm still utterly perplexed by the whole pencil thing. But I do appreciate Arth's differentiation between it being a "Takeaway Pencil," not a "Turnover Pencil."
  13. Excellent article. Learned more from that than I have in the last 5 years reading the ABJ.
  14. ABJ/GT: Zips' secondary struggles in loss
  15. I left after the 3rd Quarter, so I guess I missed us playing our best ball. (I was with friends who aren't as diehard as I am.) Having said that, what I saw was that our OL is still a major liability. Both in run blocking and pass protection. Run blocking is obviously pretty weak. But I also watched UAB's 4 DL get consistent pressure on Kato without the need of rushing any linebackers. Their LB's could simply fall back into coverage & clog the field for Kato. This is a major issue which, I'm afraid, we're going to have to suffer through all season. Alvin Davis was playing Dime back today. We ran 5 DB's pretty much all day. Lako & Bubba had good games today. They are obviously players whom we can count on all year. Yes, I just used "whom," properly. Jest also had a great game. Good grief, are our DB's young.
  16. Jokes are never funny when they need to be explained. So I guess I just don't get it.
  17. Top-shelf pics once again, good Doctor! ???
  18. Can someone enlighten me on the Turnover Pencil idea? It's obviously tongue-in-cheek. Is it supposed to emphasize the academic side of being a student-athlete, as opposed to a turnover chain, or whatever? I'm just guessing. I don't get it. It's so obviously silly it's an attempt at irony? And (now I'm going to sound like a curmudgeon), but Riley almost pokes Tyler Gilchrist's eye out with the dumb thing. Jesus.
  19. I do have to say, though, that the article on Coach Arth is very good.
  20. ABJ/GT: Zips coach Tom Arth shows traits necessary to lift program ABJ: UAB -v- Akron scouting report Read the scouting report. It will certainly make you a more educated viewer of today's contest.
  21. Hmm. The link was working yesterday... ?
