  1. It's downright paradisiacal compared to the part of town Hoban's in 😂
  2. I wasn't a D1 athlete so went to Malone College to play college baseball. While at Malone they and Walsh (their rival) had a yearly event that was pretty cool. To kick off the beginning of each basketball season they'd invite two teams to town, let's just say Team A and Team B. We'd have doubleheaders on Friday night and Saturday night. Friday night's doubleheader would be hosted at one of the schools and then Saturday night's doubleheader would be hosted at the other school. If Malone hosted first, the first Friday night game would feature Walsh playing Team A and then in the nightcap Malone would play Team B. The next night, Saturday, the games would be at Walsh with the first game of the night being Malone playing Team A with the nightcap game being, of course, Walsh playing Team B. We'd have a lot of fans from both teams attend both nights. Two good games two nights in a row. You get to see your team in early season action. Plus you get to see how your biggest rival looks & imagine how the rivalry games might play out that year. It was always fun. We should do that with KSUcks. We also need to renew our home-&-homes with Cleveland State. Get a home-&-home going with Duquesne. Continue the MAC-v-Sunbelt Challenge. Tell the MAC we & Toledo want a home & home every year. Get a couple games/year with Big East schools, who you'd like to think would be more willing due to our soccer affiliation. Of course these would be on the road, but maybe our soccer buddies would throw us a bone & give us some 2-for-1's away/home? We could play 2 BE teams on the road & have 1 at home.
  3. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Robotham hurt his knee his freshman year, right? Then Antino, also a freshman, stepped up? I just remember watching Robotham for the first time and was amazed he was only a true freshman.
  4. Just anecdotal but (as far as I remember) I've only ever seen two Zips TRUE FRESHMAN point guards really make legitimate impacts: Jimmal Ball & Noah Robotham. So I'm tempering my enthusiasm for a true frosh PG. But I'm excited to see him play & stoked he's a Zip.
  5. Tre Chapman is exactly who he reminds me of as well.
  6. @catdaddyp or anyone on ZNo, Tahj looked so out of his depth last year. Have you ever seen a QB -who looked as overwhelmed as Tahj did- ever make large enough strides to become a lynchpin D1 QB?
  7. I voted 1. Freeman 2. Wood 3. Romeo Honorable Mention: Tree
  8. That's my toughest list. Most of my favorite all-time Zips have been power forwards. Can't believe I didn't vote for Tall Ass Tree 🤯
  9. I second the motion to empty the @clarkwgriswold fund.
  10. Good point. It could be seen as keeping talent IN the MAC. I just hope our conference as a whole increases, and does bot decrease, in talent level.
  11. Agee's a stud. I also like the big from NIU, Klaus Schwab Niedenhouser von Trapp or something. I'd LOVE to see SDSU's William Kyle III in the blue & gold. I've been following him all week seeing if he'd enter and today he did. 🙏🙏🙏 NIU's Coit still not in the portal. I wanna see another LCJIII/X2.0-esque PG running the show. But I do get not wanting to poach from our own conference. Given the choice I would prefer to not cannibalize the MAC. Hopefully everyone in the conference (excluding KSUcks) can land some nice, exciting-to-watch talent.
  12. This is ridiculous. Is this what's it going to look like every year?!
  13. Very hopeful Seymore is an impact transfer. On Miami-FL's website it said that during his senior year of high school he was rated the #6 offensive guard in the nation by ESPN & #7 by Rivals.
  14. SDSU’s William Kyle III has entered the portal 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
  15. Duquesne Dukies getting roughed up by Illinois. Down 50-26 at the half.
  16. Possible drawback to the above scenario? Idk. P6 conference champions still play to win their respective tournaments, don't they? These are young men & natural born competitors; they wanna win. Also, perhaps the NCAA could reward a team which wins both their conference regular season and tournament titles with a considerably higher seeding? I'd say that should be reward enough to get the regular season champ to play to win the tournament. EDIT: Additionally, say we win the regular season championship & play KSUcks or Ohio for the tournament championship... there's not a single member of this board who wouldn't be thrilled at the prospect of keeping KSUcks or Ohio out of the NCAAT altogether.
  17. Though nothing we really haven't discussed already, I like this guy's thinking. Reward every D-1 conference regular season champion and tournament champion a bid to the Big Dance. Make the regular season meaningful again.
  18. We recruited Jerry Deng out of high school. I don't know how hard, but we were somewhat involved. He had a good freshman season.
