Possible drawback to the above scenario? Idk. P6 conference champions still play to win their respective tournaments, don't they? These are young men & natural born competitors; they wanna win. Also, perhaps the NCAA could reward a team which wins both their conference regular season and tournament titles with a considerably higher seeding? I'd say that should be reward enough to get the regular season champ to play to win the tournament. EDIT: Additionally, say we win the regular season championship & play KSUcks or Ohio for the tournament championship... there's not a single member of this board who wouldn't be thrilled at the prospect of keeping KSUcks or Ohio out of the NCAAT altogether.

Though nothing we really haven't discussed already, I like this guy's thinking. Reward every D-1 conference regular season champion and tournament champion a bid to the Big Dance. Make the regular season meaningful again.

We recruited Jerry Deng out of high school. I don't know how hard, but we were somewhat involved. He had a good freshman season.

Next year they would both have been Pre-Season All-MAC. I loathe everything about KSUcks, but I don't want to see our conference losing so much talent. Especially since I'm going to guess both these guys will flounder during their (what should have been a fun) senior year learning new offensive & defensive schemes, trying to gel w/ new teammates, finding their respective roles on their new teams, etc. They were both primed to have great senior years. Whatever. I'm just hoping our guys learned from Ali Ali that when you've got a comfort zone (especially in a mental game like basketball) the grass is seldom greener.

Wow. He was just starting to play well & looked to be finding a comfort zone. He would have been a load next year.
