I've said before that I wish I had the same confidence with Kato under center (btw, that's becoming an obsolete term...) as I had with Woody. However, IIRC, Woody didn't start until part way through his sophomore season. Am I remembering correctly? Just trying to give Kato the benefit of the doubt...

Well put summary on Kato. His raw talent jumps out at you, but Kato still has me on the edge of my seat with my fingers crossed.

I thought the uni combo we wore would be cool as an alternate combo late into the season, but thought it was odd for the home opener. Lol

Buffalo beat Temple 36-29. Kent's hammering the same Howard team which scared Ohio last week 54-14.

I couldn't tell anything from watching this game. Still not overly confident in Kato. D looked good. But again, difficult to say...

I'm on my phone so can't post a link tonight, but we got a verbal commitment from Ali Ali, a 6-7 small forward from East Noble HS in Kendalville, IN. I'm excited about Ali as he's got nice length and is a a smooth offensive player w/ a nice outside shot.

Can't believe we just started this thread. Lol. Morgan State was on tv last weekend. They looked awful. They were taken to the woodshed by Towson 36-10 & the game wasn't even that close. I just hope we get out of this game without any injuries. I'm bringing a group of 15. So I'm praying for NO rain. Go Zips!

+1. Those were two evenly matched teams. If they'd play ten times, each would win 5. I like the demeanor of Kent's new head coach. He just looks like he's got "It." I also like Kent's tempo on offense and the fact they aren't afraid to go for it on 4th down. Bowden better keep on top of things.

If we can't play tonight, do you think we'd stay in Lincoln & play tomorrow like we did at WMU last year?

ABJ/George Thomas: Sophomore quarterback Kato Nelson feeling more confident heading into first season as clear starter I've got to be honest that Kato still doesn't inspire me with a lot of confidence. Wish I had the same feeling with Kato I used to have with Woody under center. I'm also less than thrilled with Van Edwards being listed as #1 RB on the depth chart. He has a tendency to trip over his own feet. Unless these two make a real jump this season, the offense will put us to sleep again. :/

Once again Jared Embick sounds just a little bit too nonchalant about the loss for my taste. Michael Beaven/ABJ: North Carolina State tops Zips 2-0 with two first-half goals I appreciate that Jared is even-keeled, but I think I'd like to see him get a little pissed once in a while.
