Only if he's a good recruiter. Recruiting is 90% of the battle. That coaching staff had become so inbred it was getting pathetic. We needed fresh blood. Desperately. And we got it, baby!

A former player, sure - perhaps Matt Futch, or hopefully Rome &/or Dru III one day. But, other than Thomas, I'm relieved no one on the current staff was retained. We sincerely needed a very real reboot & Duquesne bailed us out of a situation which was becoming tedious and awkward. Zips athletics is one of the three passions of my life, and even I had a hard time dragging myself to the JAR last year. Thank you, Dukies Hope you enjoy

Gavin was offered by KD a while ago. I'm surprised we didn't yet have a Gavin Bizeau thread. He's a 4-star recruit, but doesn't have that awesome of an offer sheet. He's a skilled 6-10, but absolutely thin as a rail. EDIT: As an aside, I wonder if Groce will honor current outstanding offers?

Well, if he signs with Robert Morris I won't be too disappointed about him not playing here (no offense to Robert Morris). But I still think he's a little better than that & could help us out at this level. But, like I've mentioned, Im biased toward the local products.

Ohio North-South All-Star Classic / D-1-3 North roster The Zippers are very well represented on the North D-1-3 roster in the upcoming Ohio North-South All-Star Football Classic. Marquise Bridges (Ellet) Tracy Jordan (Springfield) De'Andre Brimage (East) Reggie Corner Jr. (McKinley) Marquess Callaway (East) Bubba Arslanian (Aurora) And I'm also quite sure East's Jemarulin Suggs is on the team even though I don't see him listed here. I don't believe we've ever had 7 players on this prestigious team before. TB's cranking it up.

Agreed. The only high school player I'm interested in at this point is Trotwood-Madison PG Torrey Patton. He is a 6'4" PG who was the D-2 Ohio co-POY (along w/ Jayvon Graves). But even he gives me cause for concern as to why he wasn't more highly recruited. Is he slow? Other coaches don't think his skill set will transfer to the D-1 level? Idk. Still keeping my fingers crossed for LePear Toles.

+1. 'Tino should have been the #1 PG playing 30 minutes per game last year.

I thought 'Tino turned into the much better player but KD was infatuated w/ Noah. During Noah's freshman season I was too. I'd never seen a true freshman PG come in and have such command of the game. Unfortunately, I don't think Noah was ever half the player he was as a freshman after suffering that knee injury. If given the choice between the two I'd pick 'Tino. Especially if Coach Groce wants to pressure & run. Not a style seemingly fit for Noah's game, but perfect for 'Tino.
