City passes $966 million in 2017 spending plans Akron City Council wrapped up a month of budget deliberations Monday by passing a $375 million operating budget and nearly $590 million in capital projects for 2017. The city is spending $590 million in capital projects this year alone and can't afford to build a downtown arena?

This is what frustrates me. The staff just needs to get on the phone w/ every middling P5 school in the country & say we'll come play you at your house, no strings attached.

Not to hijack the Jerome Lane thread, but this explains a lot about Pittman's lackluster year: Pittman is still waiting. This past season was supposed to be his for the taking. But a deep bruise in his heel forced him to play hurt most of the season. He was limited and not as explosive from his defensive end position...

I didn't read the article, but one would expect a blogger from Buffalo to be strongly biased toward UB just as we're strongly biased toward UA. No biggie. I'm for anything that stokes the rivalry.

Does anyone know if we're recruiting 2018 Solon PG Sincere Carry? He's been tearing it up for a couple years now & just this past weekend dropped 38 on St. Ignatius. Next year (Sin's senior year in high school) we're going to have 2 senior PG's, but after that we're going to need one. Don't yet know if TDM will make a viable starting PG at this level. I love TDM's potential & moxie, but he's awfully undersized.
