  1. Tickets are only $10 if you want to eat - it's worth it. If you simply want to hear Tressel you can just walk in.
  2. George Thomas courtesy of ABJ. Nordly Capi will be back. Se'Von Pittman will (or at least "can") play both DT & DE. Deontae Moore & Jerome Lane still projected as LB's. (I thought they might wind up @ DE.)
  3. Anthony Clark - DE, Buchtel. Jamal Davis - LB, McKinley.
  4. We're the #1 turnover-prone team in the nation?!
  5. In last week's semi-finals I believe Trotwood-Madison won 47-7 or something crazy.
  6. Nice Article on Williams. Go Zips!
  7. He did in last year's championship game as well.
  8. Hey! After 20 Columbus State references our Akron Zips finally got one!!!!! Thank you Newman! And wasn't that a great play by Junius?!
  9. Didn't he say it was DT that was so difficult to recruit in the MAC?
  10. I'll copy & paste what I wrote in another thread. This is really where it belongs. Coach Bowden spoke at an event at my church last winter (March?). Before he spoke I was able to spend about 15-minutes with him. Very friendly guy. We talked about the incoming recruits and the current roster. He said then that he thought Jatavis Brown had a shot to play in the NFL. Jatavis is a bit undersized, but man, what a warrior.

  12. Thanks.
  13. Apparently future Zips' point guard Joshua Williams does not have to sit out until after Christmas during his first year at STVM. Ohio.com
  14. I'm not so sure that I could.
  15. Didn't someone post on ZN.o that we're making more money by playing SC in SC rather than in Hawaii on a neutral floor?
  16. Not to pile on the poor guy, as he's a much better head coach than I'd be. But I do wonder if he might be the single worst college football head coach of all time? If not, he'd at least be near the top of a very short list.
  17. This is an exaggeration, but I get it. The St. Ed's -vs- Mentor game at the Info is on t.v. right now and there aren't many more people there than were at the Zips' game.
  18. Amen, amen and hallelujah. I would add that we need not only alumni raising Zips fans, but Akronites & Summit County residents also.
  19. Was watching some of this game yesterday. They had a really nice crowd @ the game.
  20. Story from ABJ. It was noted above that Dante Booker is a physical freak, but, IMHO, Newman Williams is the best player on the team. With his height and athleticism, Dante has more "up side." But in the STVM games I've seen Newman has been far-and-away the most productive player on the field. Even on offense, if STVM needs critical yards, they don't give the ball to Paris Campbell, they hand the ball off to Newman Williams. He's a beast.
  21. A sign of the apocalypse? Next thing you know the Cleveland tv media will actually let people know when Akron plays a football or basketball game. Then, of course, it'll be dogs and cats living together; mass hysteria.
  22. It's about time. Newman Williams is a stud.
  23. PG is a problem. But I'd just remind everyone that we were only down 3 with 12-minutes to play. It was somewhere around 5:00 in the morning EST. Our shooters obviously had no legs. I believe we only made 2 3-point shots all game while the 3 is a big part of our offense. I'd love to play St. Mary's again at a decent hour & on a neutral floor.
  24. That sounds about right to me. I think Nyles is going to be okay. I had a dream last night that while at the Diamond head Classic, Zips wide receiver Imani Davis was named the Zips starting PG.
