  1. Good catch. That sucks.
  2. This is untrue. He stated that once, while he was being interviewed on the campus of Columbus state in front of about 1,000 Columbus State students.
  3. Justin March is an absolute beast. I noticed it for the first time during last year's Tennessee game. During that 1st-series interception return, March lifted up a Tennessee offensive lineman and pancaked him flat on his back. It was incredible.
  4. Safety Anthony Holmes just made the weakest attempt at a tackle I believe I've ever seen. TD Michigan.
  5. Game just started, so I'm probably not going to post much. But the "Z" mark on the side of the helmet is SHARP!!
  6. Then I bow to your opinion, because I don't know much at all about soccer. I just noticed that the GK did catch the ball so we didn't get any 2nd chance shots @ an open net off of a ricochet. Also, we don't seem, as a team, to collectively bum rush the goal. It always feels like it's only our 2 forwards against about 6-8 defenders in the box.
  7. ^^He did. He caught the ball when he stopped it. I don't believe a ball reflected off the GK all night to give us a second shot on goal.
  8. I watched the game online last night & the Zips must've controlled possession of the ball for literally 90% of the match. I read in the ABJ this morning that the Zips led in shots 28-3, shots on goal 7-2 and corner kicks 7-1. But to no avail. We don't seem to have a top-shelf striker.
  9. Tyrell Goodman has moved ahead of L.T. Smith on the Depth Chart. Still no C.J. Mizell on the 2-deep.
  10. Watched Zips Football With Coach Bowden last night & was again impressed by how good the helmets look on t.v.
  11. So Indiana, the #1 team in the nation, gives up 5 goals? At home? Overrated?
  12. With that talent on our Defensive front 7, I'm shocked that I am worried about them. But I am worried about them. How could a 1-AA control the LOS? We didn't have many TFL all game. I can't imagine what Michigan is going to do to us next week. However, our team has come a looooong way up from the 7th ring of hell to which Ianello plunged the program. JMU is a good team. JMU would have destroyed Gardner Webb &/or either of Ianello's Zips teams. So, even though it wasn't pretty, I'll count beating one of the top D1-AA schools in the country as a good win for the current state of our program. Coach Bowden has us on the right track. I just wish our schedule wasn't so tough this year. Giving us the top 3 teams in the MAC West was putting us behind the 8Ball before the season even started. No EMU or CMU. Come on, MAC. I see 3 wins, with none coming over the next 5 weeks. I hope Bowden can keep the guys heads up. UCF - L JMU - W UM - L UL - L BG - L OU - L NI - L Mia - W BSU - L Can't State - L UMass - W UT - L Crossing my fingers for an upset of OU and/or Can't.
  13. Agreed. Pushing the game back to 6:00 makes for a perfect all-day-event. I met friends in the afternoon, ate at a downtown establishment, got to the stadium for the game. Great evening.
  14. I'll be honest that I was very underwhelmed when I first saw the photo of the new helmet posted on Facebook. I was expecting either a white helmet w/ a blue "Z" or a matte blue helmet with a gold "Z." Also, when you see the helmet up close (Facebook, twitter) it does look kind of silly. However, when I got home I began watching the replay of the game on ESPN3 & the helmets looked really good on t.v. Nowadays that may be what's most important?
  15. The schedule is kinda funky this year. The way the MAC schedule is set up is quite different from years past. Additionally, we might play either St. Mary's or South Carolina twice this season, as both are with us in the Hawaii Diamondhead Classic.
  16. I'm excited. I get into branding. I used to be torn between what I like most, gold, matte blue, white... ? Then I realized I simply like variety. I like alternate uniforms, even if they're ugly. As far as helmets go, I'd love to see gold, matte blue, white & matte grey. Shake 'em up throughout the season, aka, Oregon. I know we only get one, so I guess I'll pull for white helmets - I love the all-white look, like someone earlier said, "stormtrooper style." But I hope we keep the gold also.
  17. Ouch. That's a diss... by Yahoo! While Columbus State is an LBJ school, like Miami, Kentucky and AKRON, it doesn't look like LeBron had anything to do with that locker. That's simply a good idea/move on Columbus State's part. We should have thought of that first. 'Bron actually runs ball w/ the Zips & is friends w/ many of the players.
  18. Great opportunity. God bless Zeke!
  19. TB named Connor Hundley the Offensive POTG. But I like what I saw of DJ Jones. I'd like to see: More DJ Jones; less Chisholm. More Fransohn Bickley & Mykel Traylor-Bennett; less L.T. Smith. Our defensive front 7 is just fine. I don't know what to do about our defensive backfield. But L.T. Smith, while being the best all-around athlete on the team, just doesn't impress me as a WR. Move L.T. back to safety. Idk, probably too late for that now.
  20. Not that I recall. I like them.
  21. ESPN 3 from my laptop & on my big screen via appleTV. I bought appleTV expressly for this game. The game sucked, but the appleTV setup was nice.
  22. Question. Are Nordly Capi & C.J. James (both listed as seniors) on the Tree/Harney plan, where they get another "senior" season if they are on course to graduate?
  23. I'm a relatively regular listener. Gotta love Joe Dunn. Go Zips!
  24. You prompted me to check STO's website. Their listing is slightly different than the Direct TV guide. STO's website has Zips Football with Terry Bowden scheduled to begin Monday, September 2nd @ 7:30 & 10:30 p.m.
  25. Thanks, Sarge. Here's an article from the 8/26 ABJ: Parts of RooTown are Rooting for Jim Tressel to Lead University of Akron.
