It seems as though Coach Bowden must be building a good relationship w/ K.e.n.t Roosevelt, which is good; they've been putting out quite a bit of D-1 talent recently.
Curtis Black is ginormous. Being a pretty solid basketball player and with only one year of football under his belt, I think this guy's got an incredibly high ceiling. His biggest challenge may actually be keeping his playing weight down.

Coach Bowden on Daryan Martin: "I'm very excited that Daryan Martin from Princeton High School is our first signee. He represents the type of player that Coach Amato needs on the defensive front to run his 4-3 defense."
According to TB & CA, DM will be a DE as opposed to an LB.
OK!
Um, it's a one-year move while he practices w/ the US Olympics team in Vegas.
I don't know if the PD article mentioned that, but I do know that Cleveland sucks.
Go Zips! Go Akron! Fall into the lake, Cleveland.
That does suck. Hopefully it'll only be for one year - and it probably will be, as the article states that LeBron moved the camp to Vegas this year so he can participate in the camp while also training w/ the U.S. Olympic team.
Here's a question, probably deserving of another thread, but I'll just ask NewZipsFan here: in Coach Bowden's version of the spread offense, is the QB typically/ideally more of a Pro-style QB who slings the ball all over the field, or is the QB ideally more of a Dual-threat player who often looks to run w/ the ball?
Of course I agree with the top four no-brainers: Akron, Buffalo, Ohio & Can't.
However I am also in strong agreement with your somewhat surprising number 5 pick in Eastern Michigan. They've been so horrendous for so long I don't think anyone on ZNO is able to take them seriously. This, IMHO, is a BIG mistake. They've already beaten Ball State - in Muncie - and I was very impressed watching them play on STO last week. They have a true 7' C transfer from 'Cuse that really has a good, athletic physique and good mobility. I think he really might give Zeke some trouble. The Zips better be ready to give it all they've got when they play EMU this Saturday.
Good job, Zach!! Thanks for all the great work!
With the players currently enrolled plus the listed verbals, the total comes to 25. So that should about do it, no?
I'm not sure. There used to be frequent postings from a certain ZNO member concerning club baseball, but I haven't seen them in a while. Was it RootforRoo?
+1.
We have the individual talent to often overcome poor team play. That may work (most of the time) in the MAC, but won't fly if we have sincere Sweet 16 aspirations. Heck, it didn't even fly against Valpo & Duquesne.
Excellent point, Scott.
Xavier, Dayton, Rhode Island, Cincy, Depaul, Butler.
Definitely want to keep Cleveland State; love to hate those guys as much as Can't, and those games are always the most fun.Keep the rivalry with Marshall as well!
