  1. You mean a press conference?
  2. +1 I have a final to study for and this is not worth missing out on studying for. I'm very glad I didn't take that bus trip to Morgantown.
  3. Personally, I think Zeke needs to stop focussing so much on blocking shots. It's cool and all when he gets a block, but generally it simply gets him out of good defensive positioning. I wish Zeke would quit jumping & leaving his feet in order to block shots, keep his feet on the ground & just extend his arms to alter shots. That's sufficient. That way he'd also keep his positioning for rebounding. For 7'0" he doesn't get enough rebounds. I think it's directly attributable to his shot-block fixation.
  4. I hope this suspension is really disappointing to Tree & that he learns from it. He had, as we all know, some discipline issues in high school. I'm sure Dambrot was tempted to just let Tree play (we desperately needed him tonight). But KD, as always, did the right thing. Again, I hope this helps Tree in the long run.
  5. I think I'd just sit Nitro and give his minutes to Gilliam in the hope of getting Gilliam more comfortable on the court. Nitro's a liability against these more athletic teams. Gilliam's ceiling is much higher.
  6. +1. AA makes a BIG difference on this team. Q's doing an admirable job. But even WVU's announcers have mentioned, oh, I'd say 3 times already, that Akron's playing without a true PG right now.
  7. +1. With this new team, he and Nitro actually look like the odd men out. Egner too. Michael Green goes w/o saying.
  8. Well, that first half sucked. I know we miss AA, but man.
  9. Nik w/ 3 fouls in the first half. Without Tree we don't have another PF. WVU's going to eat us alive inside. Did they just say Nik has 4 fouls?!?!
  10. And is Gilliam ever going to start contributing, or what?
  11. It's surprising how much slower Nitro & Nik are than the other players on this year's squad. Nitro doesn't really look like he belongs out there. Q is the best player on either team. But man, we really miss Tree against these Big East forwards.
  12. We need Tree tonight. Of all nights to need another athletic big
  13. as much as they need...i have info that the bigwigs of business in the area are involved in this search. What kind of info do you have? Can you be a little more specific?
  14. I think you're talking about Ian Tayek. I think he was the president of the Rowdies last year. Thanks. He's good!
  15. Couldn't find him. I got Chris Farley, Seth Rogen, and the Gungan King though. Ha, that's not the first time I've been told I look like Seth Rogen Who's the enormous guy front and center. I see him at every football/soccer/basketball game I attend. Obviously a loyal dude. (I'm sure you are too - he just really stands out in a crowd!)
  16. I haven't done any post searching or anything like that, but aren't you usually telling us how easy it is to win in the MAC? How the MAC is so bad that a turnip should be able to coach a team to a .500 record (paraphrasing here)? +1. It should be relatively easy to win at Akron. A MAC schedule plus one FCS school = 10 winnable games a year. IMHO it'd be (theoretically) easier to win at Akron than at Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Iowa State, Kansas, etc., etc.... (Frankly almost any lower-level BCS school who gets trounced by the truly big boys every-other week.)
  17. Years.
  18. Wow, Zach. This is a definitive statement. Are you sure? Or do you really mean to say, "The football players have a team meeting scheduled later today. During that time, they may be informed who their next head coach will be"? I'm assuming you heard this from a player?
  19. I think DrZ would disagree. I also think JZ84 might disagree. I also think Zips Win! might disagree. I disagree as well. We pulled a quick lever the last go around. I think some patience and diligence is required now more than ever. My guess is that the poster on Rasor's post is closer to the mark: TW is calling on people like Tressel and Dennison to either take part in the search committee, or act as defacto "search firm" to build the best candidate list he can come up with. Careful, ZW. I pointed out that very comment yesterday (I even specified that it was merely an internet rumor) and got jumped by both GoZips & DIG!
  20. Detroit has an RPI of 281 with a record of 1-4 with their only win being a 1 pointer over Austin Peay. I am sorry GOZIPS but that win is not as impressive as you think it is. Frenchie also mentioned that Detroit was missing their main big man & had already played 3 games last week and so were a little gassed. Actually...I think Dambrot said that just after the game. You're probably right.
  21. You know, whatever happens, I haven't had this much fun on ZNO in years!
  22. Matt Campbell? OC @ Toledo? There's a dark horse candidate. I sent in my little email to TW during the last coaching search and threw my hat into the ring for Chuck Martin. Though he's completely unrelated to Faust & iCoach, I wonder if simply the fact he's now @ Notre Dame would hurt him? Could we possibly even consider yet another ND coach?
  23. SHIT I can't get ESPN3 Neither can I. If anyone hears of Barley House, or anywhere, that is televising the game, please post it here! Thanks!
  24. Detroit has an RPI of 281 with a record of 1-4 with their only win being a 1 pointer over Austin Peay. I am sorry GOZIPS but that win is not as impressive as you think it is. 25. +1. CP could look a HC candidate in the eye, shake his hand, and recognize whether or not the candidate had "It."
