All of these are the painfully rare exceptions which prove the rule that Cleveland's media ignores Akron 99% of the time.
When Akron gets between 3-5 minutes of coverage, from each major Cleveland television outlet -NBC, ABC, CBS & FOX- every night (regardless of merit, i.e., Browns, Indians, Cavs) for the next two generations (roughly 40 years) then we'll go ahead and call it even w/ the Cleveland media.
Cleveland's media has had Akron by the balls for a looooong time now; literally a couple of generations. That's almost entirely devastating for the Akron community's personal identity, or "sense of place." And, IMO, I don't think the Cleveland media was dumb enough not to realize what they were doing; it was intentional. Fortunately, 6:00 local news broadcasts are for dinosaurs and are quickly becoming increasingly irrelevant to a community's identity formation.
