  1. We may not play in that division, but we have played two teams from that division in the past two seasons and we are 1-1 against them. Now, are we D-1A or I-AA? I know what I think. And VMI, the mighty D-1AA squad we beat, is 1-9 on the year. Interesting, this week's D-1AA pillow fight (aren't they all?) is VMI (1-9) vs. Gardner-Webb (4-6). Oh, wait. Gardner-Webb beat us in our house last year.
  2. If given a few more minutes in the game do you think he would have scored a point or gotten a rebound. Yes!!! (But not 3.)
  3. At least this is fun conversation and was a GREAT game to watch. Everyone's all piss-n-vinegar right now & it's great, because man, it feels good! (Football's been so demoralizing I don't even care about the losses anymore.) Go Zips! Beat Duquesne!
  4. Did anyone listen to 1350's postgame show? Was KD interviewed?
  5. I saw that. I think it was Brett McClanahan on the floor with the ball. He had possession & just seemed to fall down. That was actually one of the handful of times I was wondering why Brett, and not Walsh or Harney, was on the court.
  6. +1. I didn't understand it at all. It's okay if KD keeps Brett a starter, but I would have much rather seen Walsh or Harney out there.
  7. The 'Meister did call for poor shooting from behind the arc for Valpo. Good call.
  8. I was surprised to see so much of McClanahan and none of Walsh. I don't believe he had a minute of second-half action.
  9. I like that we look relaxed. Probably means we've got a lot of confidence. But we don't want to be over confident. Looks like we'd better raise our intensity & execution a bit in the second half. Zeke's gotta stay out of foul trouble. He does change the complexion of the game for us.
  10. Reminds me of dog food. +1. Btw, way to go Tree!
  11. I graduated from Green, but now live in Hartville.
  12. WOW. That video sucked! But the 2nd dude wearing the red sweatshirt was pretty smooth.
  13. Good for him. At least now he's probably having fun playing the game.
  14. Well good. At least some university employees obviously care.
  15. +1. Thanks 'bucket! And thanks for giving this post a bump, Scott. I had somehow missed this when it was originally posted on Nov. 16th.
  16. Simon What's-His-Name (Frenchie's color man w/ the wicked English accent) said that penalty was truly a bad call - a phantom foul - and had a handful of his soccer-savy friends from around the country (and world?) who were watching the game online text him during the game telling him that there was no foul to be called in that instance. Terrible call & really could have shifted the momentum & eventual outcome of the game. Fortunately the Zippers came right back & laid waste to the Northwestern defense as Mattocks buried a ball in the back of their net! Spelling, Defender, NSCAA First Team All-American 1983, the original Perry Kitchen, general badass. In my opinion, Simon Spelling is a starter on the Zips All-Time team. That's right. And thanks! No disrespect intended!
  17. +1. Nobody runs circles around AA. He's the quickest Zips I've seen since Jimmal Ball. However, if Valpo's a guard-oriented team (as are many college teams) we absolutely must guard the 3-point arc tonight!
  18. Iowa scored 88?
  19. We're so bad that it's rendering GP1's interesting paradigm irrelevant. GP1's theory, IIRC, is that a new head coach has roughly 3-years to build a winning program, otherwise his chosen coordinators and assistant coaches begin to jump ship, seeing that it is taking on too much water. However, we're so diabolically sh!tty that I don't think iCoach's staff could find other jobs if their lives depended upon it.
  20. Valpo began the season with a close, 9-point loss at Arizona 73-64. Followed that with a 9-point win at Georgia Southern (don't know anything about them) and then followed that with an absolute, 50-point annihilation of visiting Holy Cross 88-38. Duquesne began the season with an 8-point loss, again both to and at Arizona. The Dukes then followed that with a convincing 18-point home win over Wisconsin-Green Bay. They're probably going to blow-out District of Columbia tonight. I appreciate Big Zip's confidence, but I think we're going to have to be at least hitting on most cylindars to come out of this weekend w/ 2 victories. But the potential is right in front of us to have three nice wins over the SEC, Horizon & Atlantic-10, respectively.
  21. Does anyone know if we received any love from the ESPN commentators during this game? I've got it dvr'd & I'm planning on watching it sometime today.
  22. I'd rather not talk about the post Zeke era Fear not. The coaching staff is diligently recruiting a pair of big men. Hmm, interesting. Recruiting "a pair" of bigs with the hope of signing one, or both?
  23. Just wanted to give a shout-out to the 'Rowdies who did show up last night. It was awfully cold. The, no pun intended, fair-weather 'Rowdies stayed home. You guys are the real 'Rowdies! Now we need all you real 'Rowdies to pack the JAR!
