I didn't have a problem with it either. I didn't leave. I stayed late and basked in the afterglow of a perfect day. But the game was reeeeeally out of hand. Also, I noticed the crowd wasn't making any noise @ all on 3rd downs. I was stomping on the aluminum bleachers, but I was the only person in my proximity trying to raise the roof for the D on 3rd down. I'll also chalk that up to the game's outcome never being in doubt. But I hope the Info is ROCKING for our D on 3rd next week versus Indy!
Ok, was there anyone on ZNO that knew, but who was sworn to secrecy? Lol.That is epic how they pulled that one off. Yesterday just had to be an absolutely amazing day to be a player for the Zips.
Good for Cameron. I wish him well. It was pretty evident he wanted to be a Zip but we just didn't have room for him. Good luck, Cameron! Except for when you're playing the Zips, of course.
You're right. I asked about that @ the open house a couple weeks back & was told the Team Shop won't open @ all this year. I was disappointed to hear that. They do, however, have two souvenier stands ready to go tomorrow - one under the east grandstand, and another under the west.Could they be waiting until next season to fill an official Zips Team Shop with merchandise due to the fact we'll be switching over to Nike next season & have a boat load of entirely new gear?
GREAT shirt!!! I love the Zoo idea. When I was @ Green high school - '91 grad - we sometimes referred to UA as The Zoo because it was such a crazy place! Also, it was a little play on words as zoo sounds like U, so we'd sometimes call it Akron Zoo instead of Akron U.Yeah, we called it Akron U. Lol
Just my two cents, but I hope we can start a "Fear the Roo!" chant. We've got two legit chants now, "Let's go Zips" and "Fear the Roo." I hope we can incorporate both.
Check out these sweet light blue Akron soccer jerseys. Very sweet.Cool soccer jerseysCould this be a foreshadowing of future Zips b-ball & football jerseys?
Could someone post a link to the GoZips.com page w/ the pre-game activities listed... band marching to the Info, team walking into the stadium, ZipsFest, etc.?
As far as the camera angles go, a consultant from ESPN designed the layout. So whatever ESPN wanted, ESPN got. Can't do any better than how the Info is layed out for television.
Congrats RedHawks!See, I LOVE to hate those guys, and I believe the feeling is mutual. Lol. It sucks that we don't get to play them AGAIN this year!As The Great GP1 says, hey MAC, drop Temple!!!
As long as it feels like a genuine AKRON gathering, I'm all for it. I just don't want to feel like, that as an AKRON fan, that I'm part of a small minority in my own downtown!
I'm at this game right now. Their QB, Gorgio Morgan, looks awful. And they can't run on these guys either. However, Eugene Jarvis looks extremely dangerous returning punts, and their defense looks very good.
Good to hear from you again, Gamechanger44! So glad to hear Zeke is making a smooth adjustment to college life. And, Captain, thank you for such a thorough review! Greatly appreciated!
That's an interesting thought. I'd think it may give them a psychological edge whenever we are visiting any MAC school. Our players are going to walk into the other MAC stadiums thinking, "Wow, this place sucks! We are so much more big time than these losers!"
I'm really hoping the U is planning on buying the Mayflower and converting it to dorm space. Currently, the Mayflower is a serious black eye for downtown. It was a great moving the central bus exchange out of the core of downtown. Handling the Mayflower situation would be another HUGE step.
AMEN brother! Screw Barley House until they realize what city they're smack-dab in the middle of!!!Sounds like OBC is the place to be! You can count on me being there w a small crew.Go zips!
Why is student support so spotty for basketball? Is it simply because football is far and away the king of American sports? With the b-ball team KD has assembled I'd think there'd be at least 500 students at most of those games.
