  1. These are only players I've seen personally (I didn't really start paying attention to Zips b-ball till '95 - Coleman Crawford's last season). PG - LCJIII Honorable Mentions: Dru Joyce II, Jimmal "Spider Man" Ball, Xavier Castenada, Alex Abreu, Noah Robatham, Antino Jackson, Darryl Roberts, Humpty Hitchens 2G/W - Quincy Diggs Honorable Mentions: Derrick Tarver, Jamie Bosley, Tron Jenkins, Tyler Cheese, Nick Dials, Jimmond Ivey, Steve McNees, Scotty Gooden SF/W - *Jimmy Conyers Honorable Mentions: Ali Ali, Darryl Peterson, Brett McKnight, Dan Hipsher, Nate Linhart, Jawanza Moore, Daniel Utomi PF/P - Enrique Freeman Honorable Mentions: Romeo Travis, Demetrius "Tree" Treadwell, Xerius Williams, George Phillips, Kwan Cheatham C/P - Zeke Marshall Honorable Mentions: Jeremiah "Big Daddy" Wood, Isaiah "Big Dog" Johnson *Jimmy Conyers only had one good year... his senior season... but man was it special.
  2. Dude, you're amazing! And now that the Zips basketball season is over I'm beginning to itch for some Zips football again!
  3. Jonas sure had a tough weekend. He couldn't throw it in the ocean.
  4. He had a fantastic season. He's a 3-point deadeye. Luke was on the short list of Mr. Basketball candidates. Would love to see Luke in the blue & gold!
  5. And wait, there's more! Someone is operating the camera! 🙌
  6. Colin’s only a junior so if he’s worthy I hope we pursue him hard!
  7. Hoban junior guard Jonas Nichols has been offered by Akron. That's it as far as I know. Hoban senior guard Will Scott may be someone the Zips should invite to walk on. Buchtel has 2 future D1 players in PG Khoi Thurmon (IUPUI IIRC LOL) and 2G Amire Robinson (Nevada). Khoi is built like a bull & Amire is a physical specimen but neither have great outside shots; they're just more athletic than anyone trying to guard them. So I don't know how their games are going to translate to the next level but I'm not losing any sleep over them not being offered by Akron. Buchtel's hottest player will be playing FCS football as a WR next season at Wayne State. His name is Marcel Boyce, Jr. & is the son of former Zip Marcel Boyce, Sr. He's been on fire & has been Buchtel's leading scorer since the tournament began. Buchtel has a 6'3" sophomore in the starting lineup named Stevie Diamond. He's Buchtel's starting QB. He's also an athlete to keep an eye on. Hoban's Jonas Nichols is the player I'm keeping my fingers crossed for. He's smooth as silk, has great handles, is 6'3" & has a sweet mid-range fadeaway jumper. Extremely smooth now... I can only imagine how good he's going to be a few years from now. Hopeful he'll be a Zip.
  8. Wow, no doubt.
  9. Zips swept both games of the double header -v- BUGS today.
  10. 9:30 a.m. 3/17 How we currently stand: PG: Tavari...... Garvin W: Dawson... Prather W: Tribble..... Nate..... Marvin P: Sammy..... Darrion P: Freeman... Amani Currently 2 open scholarships
  11. Kobe got zero minutes today in WVU's tourney game vs. Maryland. I'd be shocked if he doesn't transfer.
  12. I believe he could play next season due to this being his first transfer.
  13. Hmm. He posted this on March 4th And this on March 5th And then decided to transfer?
  14. Wherever you go, there you are.
  15. I think he’s saying there are a number of schools who’s administrations are not giving adequate support to their basketball programs so it ends up there is a lot of dead weight at the bottom of the conference dragging down the conference as a whole. The top of the MAC is good basketball! Akron, Ohio, Toledo, Kent, Buffalo, Ball State. But the bottom of the MAC (the directionals: EMU, CMU, WMU, NIU) are awfully weak.
  16. From July '22 a nice little Rivals.com article on Darrion Baker one of the most pleasant surprises at this month’s adidas 3SSB Championships in South Carolina, Darrion Baker spent his time at the event proving that he might be a touch under-recruited. The 6-foot-8 forward flashed high-major athleticism and the ability to guard most positions on the floor while also showcasing a versatile skill set that should translate to the next level. Baker, who handles the ball well for his size and position, can knock down looks from deep and impact the game in the high-post. He recently spoke to Rivas.com about his growing offer list and which schools are in the mix.
  17. The first trickle of information
  18. It looks like you're watching Intellivision Baseball 😭
  19. This is what I'm thinking. If the staff thought the same starting 5 were coming back maybe we play in the CBI & get even more games under our belt in looking toward next year. But I think the team is going to look drastically different next season & the staff likely wants to get ahead of the curve on the work which needs to be done. Today they're likely starting their exit interviews & going to have heart-to-hearts with a few guys about their futures with the program. We may know who is going to transfer out by tomorrow, and how many available scholarships that will open up. Better that than waste time at the CBI with a squad that's going to look significantly different next year. Just my $0.02.
  20. I'm sure Tribble hit the gym. In fact I'd bet he's hit the gym religiously since his middle school days. It's not fair but shooting a basketball has a lot to do with the genes the good Lord decided to bless you with. I had a friend in HS who was a natural. He hardly ever practiced but could simply stroke J's from range without even paying much attention to what he was doing. But he also had a nice, fluid golf swing, a fluid baseball swing & a fluid pitching motion, all without putting much work into it. Life's not fair!!! Lol. Clarke, on the other hand, has a much more natural looking jump shot. He's just terribly inconsistent with it. When the ball leaves his hand I never know where it is going to end up. To me, Clarke looks like he still gets too excited - his shots are almost always too long.
