  2. That bobcatattack thread goes to show you how jaded we are towards our fellas when watching a game. It was even handed poor officiating, on par for the MAC. I'll never whine about the stripes again.
  3. Well, 67-62 final. We tried to blow it but start off the conference season 2-0 now. We'll need to play much better in Canada to come away with the win.
  4. SWEET JESUS. DO WE WANT TO WIN?!?!
  5. welcome jjackson.ONE MORE FT!!!
  6. Congrats Lady Zips! K-S-U-CKS!Now fellas, bring it home. Another bucket outta do it.
  7. You know, I thought he was very even-handed to start. As the game got closer and time ticked down, he's become more of a homer. What a great game. Same as going at the JAR...lady Zips up by 3 with 4 min to go.
  8. It's a bad sign if some tough man defense and press knock us out so badly in an away game.Edit: Roberts apparently rolled an ankle...he's back out there with two HUGE 3s. Buckle down Zips. Nik on the bench with 4 fouls. Need some production from Zeke.
  9. 3 fouls on B McKnight and Nik...Roberts is out with a turned ankle. We're gonna have to win this one shorthanded.
  10. thanks, zw. Looking good out there so far. GO ZIPS!
  11. anyone at the game that could update this thread with scores? Go Lady Zips.
  12. Just pulled up the link: http://www.stretchinternet.com/flush/playe...p;pass=14486895VERY impressed with the quality of the feed. Thanks OU :thumb: :thumb:EDIT: CHANGE FLUSH to FL-ASH. Man, that's annoying sometimes.
  13. I was just wondering about this, as I wait for Akron/OU to tip off. Is there a fan/rowdy bus headed up this Sunday? Anyone else making the trip independently? I was hoping to fetch a bus ride.
  14. I'm shocked Miami is capable of scoring 44 points in a half, regardless of OT or the halftime score. If they could do that consistently with coles style defense, look out MAC! (It won't happen)
  15. The Convo is a tough place to play. OU is relying a LOT on a couple of VERY talented Freshman. This will likely hurt them later in the year rather than early, but I still like our odds. This should be a down year with the kids they're playing, but they've been solid so far. If we want to hold up our end of the bargain as favorites, this is a MUST WIN. We have a pretty tough draw for away games in the first half of the MAC East rotation though (Ohio, Buffalo, K-ent), the top 3 predicted finishers in the east behind Akron. The next 4 games will tell us a LOT of what we're going to get from this team. Lets hope Jimmy can block out the blow zone and continue on a potential MAC POY season, Bardo has another solid game stuffing the middle against a very similar (maybe more offensively challeged) player as Otis Polk in Kenneth Van Kempen, and the shots are falling from the outside.Akron 72Ohio 64
  16. From the guy that started the Canada thing, no offense but Ohio and New York are pretty much the same state if you take away NYC.
  17. Had the same problem last September. My fiancee wanted a ladies football jersey. I was told ONLY the bookstore would have them "sometime before the opener" for $75. No demand if there's no supply...
  18. How do we get an "old guys" forum, mods?
  19. I agree with rootforroo. I hope the AP does Boise St a solid and gives them a share of the Championship. It was so nice of the BCS to let BSU & TCU in. What a coincidence they had to play eachother.
  20. I was HIGHLY impressed w/Ronnie's defense vs URI. There was a point where the crowd recognized him for great D on the URI PG. He's gonna be a big help as the season progresses. Stay healthy, Ronnie!
  21. We'll continue the long line of "almosts" where the Zips have the chance to open some eyes and put away a near top 25 team, a top 10 rpi team (regardless of how you feel about that ranking) and the screw it all away. URI was the better team, and really put it to the Zips in the last 8 minutes. Nonetheless, we should've won that game. That officiating crew is downright terrible, consistently. Did it decide the game? Probably not because they were HORRIBLE both ways, though more calls did go against the Zips in the critical last 5 minutes. The little hair-plugged ref is the worst offender in a poor line of MAC officials and it should be duly noted in his performance evaluation. The tall balding guy is in the ballpark of being just as consistently terrible. Number one thing, amongst many poor calls at the end of the game, that stuck out to me was the calling of timeout by the URI coach as there was a scrum for the ball near mid court. Wasn't that rule in NCAA changed that you must have possession of the ball and be in contact with the court to call timeout? Regardless of that, how was the coach granted timeout when no team clearly had possession of the ball at all? Am I bitter after another heartbreaking loss? Sure, but my blue and gold glasses aren't THAT Zips colored. Lets run the table in the MAC.
  22. I'd like to thank akronzips71 for the typed equivalent of "scoreboard". I blame you.
  23. Sitting in section 9 of GA with friends, I was struck with what an advantage this place could be if it was packed all the time. Probably 55% full in here and LOUD during that run. Keep it goin, Zips.
  24. The line has shifted in the favor of the Zips. Most sites now have Akron -1 or -1.5. Shows how little rpi means for #150 to be favored to beat #8. Still surprising after last yrs debacle. GO ZIPS!
