I do applaud their effort. They did try and there were a good number of Akron fans. I will say that the tOSU fan sitting beside us was actually pretty tolerable. However, I still preferred the atmosphere we get at OBC way better. At least you had a decent one, we had one with an eye on the Zips game, and he cheered for every negative play the Zips had. I guess that's fair though, because I let out a hoot when Navy got in the endzone the first time

Hey! Thanks for being a jacka$$. I was merely stating that I wanted Zips fans to outnumber Suckeye fans at the Barley House, as was everyone else. I want to go to an Akron establishment and hear the audio from my team's game and see it on the majority of the screens. What's the best way to do that? Check my earlier post: SHOW UP. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing OSU on a couple screens so I can root against them. And if you don't like me, and others, openly rooting against another team from Ohio on Zipsnation, feel free to leave and not chime up with your insulting little rant. GO ZIPS and GO MIDSHIPMEN!

I'm happy to see lots of folks are heading up there. Tell all your friends where to be, and most importantly, what to wear. I'll be showing up at 11am (when BH opens) with about a half-dozen other Blue and Gold clad fans. This is our city and our team, let's take it over from the Lemmings!Inspirational speech over.

It's just no fun to make fun of their football team anymore...

What is the Zips First Play From Scrimmage?
RowdyZip replied to Captain Kangaroo's topic in Akron Zips Football
1) Play action fake, 5yd out to the te.2) deep route streak to bowser.Where's the tailgate? Lot 9, I hope? I don't want to venture far for my free beer. -
Well...let me push your buttons a little bit here...the Alumni Association made it their official watch party location, so why not give them a chance? They've made several "Zip friendly" improvements in the last few weeks, including a stadium shuttle bus and several Zips banners (no OSU ones that I could see). And one last thing: In what world does it work to convince an establishment that your team is worthy of their attention by staying home? I say we make it the "Unofficial" Zipsnation watch party location as well. Show up en mass and decked out in blue and gold. ZN should have no problems outnumbering a few suckeye fans.

I'll be at the Barley House for the game...they seem to be making an attempt to support the team, so I'll give them a chance.Afterwards I'll be next door for some tasty brew.

Haven't seen Bleacher Bum around and we ARE getting close, so...Akron 357Penn State 2

I still think you should quantify that a little. BASKETBALL support was poor. I think each football game had at least 500+ students (which would be a major let down this year) but that's still awesome compared to the 50 or so that showed up sometimes to the JAR.

from what I have been told from the high-ups in the AK-Rowdies, this is correct.Love Scorchers' support, but I just wish it were a little closer to the "action." I'll be at the combo of OBC/Barley House. Hopefully a good showing at OBC...I could use some tasty beers.

I LOVE this. Great idea...using the technology! And the best part? It's free. He seems enthusiastic and knowledgeable, especially for a newbie to the Zips world. I can't wait to see a fresh set of ideas... come on MARKETING!

One way to rid yourself of an internet troll is to not respond to said troll. I'd be jealous too if I saw a conference foe investing deeply in athletics and in the center of a major population base. Especially if my school were built in the middle of some hills in BFE with zero potential for growth. OU does well in attendence for basketball, sure. Have you tried to find something else to do in Athens on a winter night? Basketball or

Yep. 'Cuz Penn State sucks. We're within 3 weeks. RowdyZip's gloves come off. I'm going to feel bad spoiling your perfect season so early on...no...not really.

Looks like GP1 was looking to have some fun in the bathrooms...

Back to our agricultural thread: anyone else notice they fixed those ever-so-worrisome brown spots in the sod?

Our tour guide told us it would be General Admission and Students....

Lately it seems, half the Nation! Funny part is, you won't even be able to tell once the dorms are completed wrapping around Spicer to Exchange. Do we really think they'd build light standards that wouldn't be powerful enough for television? You guys think they just want to cart in mobile lights for old times like ESPN at the Rubber Bowl?
-
Drove down Exchange on my way home from work today and noticed that the rear of the scoreboard is complete, just like the UA stadium site showed it to look like. It's made of the same stretched canvas look...I'm not a big fan, it seems as though it will wear out very quickly. Perhaps this is another preparation for future upgrade down the road, maybe that exterior video screen that was previously discussed?
-
Hopefully whoever is leading the rowdies this year has the foresight to make this into a tradition. Line that walkway with students and fans before the game. Now THAT would be an adrenaline rush for the players...

22'X39' Full video capability. I can't wait.

I voted for 20k-30k. The sad thing is, so much depends on the weather. A huge step for Zips football will be when it moves from being something to do when it's nice out to THE thing to do on Sat.

Glad you enjoyed the pics folks, I'll make one more tour around the area on my lunch hour during the middle of next month. I'll remember to bring the good camera with me to work for one last update.

Well, I used our very own ZN uploader to host the pics on site. I hope this link works:http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?au...um&album=29
