  1. I can't seem to read these stories enough. Each one makes me smile! Does anyone know how much season tickets run? Thanks for sticking around, Coach Porter. GO ZIPS!
  2. +1What a thrill. I hope we can get a decent crowd up there.
  3. Great atmosphere at Barley House. Pretty crowded and signs on the door state only UA will be on the TVs.
  4. Barley House.
  5. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=78&f=37...5286615&p=1This is four pages of a good read from a different perspective. Most interesting thing is everyone's homersim. These guys thought the ESPNU announcers were against them...
  6. This actually stuck out in my mind too. It was a really offhand comment, almost mumbled disappointedly..."Akron's been the more dominant team all night..."He trailed off, I smiled.
  7. Absolutely THRILLING!!!I'll be at the Barley House Sunday...hope to see a huge contingent and a front page story on Sunday edition of the ABJ. I think it's too late for presses tonight.
  8. That hurts us pretty bad to not have Ampai out there for PKs. Hope he's ok and we can pull this out...c'mon fellas!
  9. I'm going on about 20 minutes with one breath. What a great game...man I hope our fellas show this ACC chumps who is "superior" soccer competition.
  10. Anyone downtown? How's the turnout? How about an online link for those of us that don't get the "U" ?
  11. If you have a digital box you have it... I believe it's 180 or around that area. And for those interested in the first semi that aren't near a TV with cable:http://www.justin.tv/s/7mMVAms/footballsaturday
  12. If you have a digital box you have it... I believe it's 180 or around that area.
  13. Mine's fine. Pres is up now...
  14. live feed starts at noon....if they don't screw it up.
  15. I'll go this way..."It's now what I expected."Welcome to Akron, Rob. Lets get this thing turned around. Looking forward to see the product on the field in the spring and again next September.
  16. I just don't see any way this happens in the next 3-5 years. There would be an utter revolt in the city, unless it were paid 99% through the U & federal money. Even then bitter residents will whine.
  17. I get that they're flying out then and it's an official send off...but perhaps they'd have better attendance later in the day the day before the flight? Then again, perhaps not because there is some student support for this team. Guess I'm just a little disappointed I'll be at the daily grind.
  18. No offense, but what a frigging stupid time. You want the community to attend? Most of us work.
  19. One reason I miss Mike Waddell. Used to love going up to Spaghetti Warehouse for a decent dinner and to listen to the show. Mike made it somewhat entertaining and was always courteous and professional to those in attendance (usually just the guest(s) and myself and my girlfriend).
  20. http://blogs.courant.com/uconn_football/20...moorhead-b.htmlNot a scoop, but another opinion.
  21. I'd think he stays, seeing as he redshirted in '08. Unless dad pops up at a 1AA.
  22. That's fine. I hope he starts in Indiana too.He can have a fine career of last-place finishes in the Big Te(leve)n. We knew we'd lose some kids, but I'm sure the combination of Wagner's breakout season and being called a "future All Big-Ten Linebacker" is enough to scare away a 17 year old kid.I'll tell you this much, the Zips had an awful year, but I'll lay down $100 that they win more games over the next 4 years than the Hoosiers do.
  23. He can be the next Delone Carter when the Zips stomp the orange in the opener next year.
  24. This really does go to show the whole "sleeping giant" statement about this school is true. People like a winner, especially in NEO. The problem is, for people around here to jump on the bandwagon, it requires not just pounding a bunch of mediocre teams, but to be ranked nationally and destroy teams that everyone knows (i.e. Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, etc). I long for that day that the Zips crack the top 25 in either of the major sports, because that next game after an ABJ story about the team cracking the top 25, will be insane.
  25. NCAA interactive bracket has the Zips at 7:30 Friday.
