  1. So is the turf going in tomorrow then? Or at least some of it? I'd hope they'd have some or most installed by the last open house on Sunday. I'd really like to have a better idea of the views by then...P.S: I took a hike up to the site on my lunch hour today and took some nice photos of the outside and scoreboard supports. It gives a little better scale than the webcams. Those of you that are my facebook buddies can view em now, the rest of you have to wait until tomorrow when I get a chance to upload them on here
  2. Wow...no offense ticket office, but how did I get screwed into the 16th when there's first time ticket holders going the week before? On second thought...that's about right for our sports marketing department.
  3. Yep, I got mine Friday. Says I go at 12:45pm on Tuesday the 16th of June. Good thing I work right downtown and can take a later lunch to hit that time. It's gonna undoubtedly upset some people that can't make the trip on a weird weekday time. I had a friend luck out and get 5:45PM on the 10th.
  4. The post you're referring to magically disappeared...weird.
  5. I've been hanging around reading and not contributing since the end of basketball season...but seriously? You guys are bickering over a recruit's prom tux and how to compliment it? That, sirs, is anti-pimptastic.Zeke, looking good man. Not as good as you'll be looking in that blue and gold in about 6 months, though.
  6. Wanted to post some info to quell some doubts. On the Infocision Stadium tour today, the rep from Welty construction stated clearly that they are running ON-TIME for their completion deadline. This deadline is NOT Sept 19th, nor is it Sept 12th for that matter. The CONTRACT COMPLETION DEADLINE is AUGUST 22nd, 2009. We're in good shape, Zipsnation. FEAR NOT INCOMPLETION, FEAR THE ROO!
  7. Wow, I've been quiet a while on this subject but now it really seems as if this kid is made in the mold of Zeke. Perhaps this is the beginning of making us the "Memphis of the MAC" rather than the "Gonzaga of the East" as so many like to aspire...
  8. Try Fir Hill Towers by the Martin Center. I lived there for a year a few years back...I know their efficiencies are fairly cheap and heat/water are included. Very secure, and garage option is available. Plus there's an indoor and outdoor pool.
  9. AMEN, brother. LET'S GO ZIPS! Can't wait to see the product on the floor next fall...should be favorites to win it all again, jinx or not.
  10. GREAT JOB ZIPS!!!We love you Nate, and all the rest of you guys. Here's to future years of dominance...Can't wait to see you in the fold next year, Z.
  11. Can I just be the first to say....LETS GO ZIPS!!!!BEAT GONZAGA!!!!!
  12. I know it doesn't REALLY mean anything, but for some reason I'd love to see us get a 12... In reality...i'm guessing a 13 or 14. Anyone remember what Miami was seeded two years ago?
  13. Me and the wife have already planned this into our day.Hope to see everyone up there.
  14. Heading up that way in about an hour...It'll be my first pregame party of the tournament despite seeing two games. LETS GO ZIPS!
  15. PASSION, BABY. PASSION!LETS GO ZIPS!!!!!
  16. Men’s Basketball Tiebreaker ProcedureThe following tiebreaker procedure will apply to all sports, unless noted otherwise within the individual sport operating codes/championship guidelines. All ties will be broken in the order in which they occur, from top to bottom, in the standings. When comparing tied teams against positions lower in the standings, which are also tied, those lower-tied positions will be considered as a single position for purposes of comparison. (Example: Team A and Team B, who tied for second place, would compare against Team X and Team Y who tied for 6th as follows: Team A would compare its combined record against both X and Y against Team B’s combined record against both X and Y.) 1. Head-to-head competition2. Winning percentage* vs. ranked conference teams (top to bottom, regardless of division; versus common opponents, regardless of the number of times played)3. Sport specific component (if applicable)4. Coin flip* Winning percentage is used instead of record because of situations where teams do not play each other the same number of times. Therefore, a team that is 1-0 (1.000) would win the tiebreaker over a team that is 1-1 (.500).
  17. K-ent loses to BG...Miami down to OU...Sure hope we can pull this off.
  18. I'm pretty upset that I have to work during this one. I thought the free Horizon League internet feed was a nice feature, I used it to watch Cleveland State dismantle K-S-U (cks). I'll offer up a prediction:Akron 64Valpo 68I just don't see much incentive to winning this one for our guys, a long drive, non-conf game against a 7-20 team. This is the kind of games where young teams fall asleep looking forward to the rest of the year in the MAC. Man, I hope I'm wrong.
  19. I'm thinkin' sleepwalking won't be a problem.
  20. 56-54 Central knocks off Miami....WOW
  21. A friend and I were redeeming the aforementioned vouchers for free GA tickets and had the same problem, upon reaching the ticket counter, i realized why:As I watched the ticket guy ready two GA tickets he had to navigate three windows screens and click about five times to ready and print me too GA tickets for a game with about 2500 in attendance. Is there a reason why they couldn't print a decent stack of GAs for walkups and sell as they go? It's make people a lot less grumpy if they didn't have to wait 15 minutes in a pick-your-poison choice of TWO ticket windows.
  22. I did notice when I browsed a Beacon, waiting for lunch, that they gave a very respectable 75/25 split of the cover of the Sports section between the Cavs/Lakers and the Zips win. Keep it up and I might call it "our paper."
  23. Man, lemme rain on everyone's parade for a minute... I'm excited about the Zips. If you're reading this board, you're excited about the Zips. It's going to take more than running off a few MAC games in a row to interest people around here. They're so used to apathy, it'll take something B-I-G!Run off 17 straight to finish the year and maybe we can talk...The 6 in a row is GREAT, don't get me wrong...but (and this is weird for me to be saying) we need to temper our enthusiasm. Six in a row is the longest streak since 06-07 when they ran up 9 straight, the last win making them 18-4 (9-1) and the sparkling crowd that showed up?Drum roll...3,327 souls.I'd love to be wrong here, but I don't see much happening (at least "Joe Akron" or attendance wise) until there's something that pulls both BJ and Cleveland headlines...and double-digit streaks MAY do such a thing.Oh, and one last thing, I thought about adding this in a new thread but it'll find it's home here: LIDS, the mall-based hats store, currently is running a promotion wherein if you purchase any Zips hat, you receive a voucher for two free GA seats. The voucher is stamped by the UA Sports Marketing Department (who says we don't have one?). Of course, I would've never known unless a friend told me. Long story short, if you like NICE Zips hats, you can spring one there for $19-26 bringing the total cost after the tickets to -$1-$6 for a top of the line hat. Oh, and go to Summit Mall because Chapel Hell is already sold out
