  1. and this is in the football forum because..................
  2. You have probably forgotten the Alamo too. Surely everyone else here remembers when he tried to take coach Kest!
  3. I tried to Google the Grate One's question to get an answer, but there was too much interference. I like the idea of forcing a runner out by hitting them with the ball. They could do the same thing in golf.
  4. Lots of ways to increase scoring. Just a few: 1. Increase goal size by 50%. 2. Last team to score has to play two men short. 3. Establish a basketball like 3 pt line; e.g., any goal from more than 25 yards out worth 2 points. 4. If goalie makes three saves he has to play the rest of the game with one arm tied behind his back. 5. If goalie makes three more saves with arm tied behind his back he must play the remainder of the game with one arm tied behind his back and his shoes tied together with his (regulation length) shoe laces. 6. All corner kicks taken from the penalty kick line. 7. Eliminate offsides as a penalty.
  5. If he has his grades in order, I'll wager he lands a full-ride.
  6. What kind of issues is the Storm bringing with him?
  7. Thomas ranked second on the team last season with 361 rushing yards, but was suspended twice for disciplinary reasons. Maybe he's headed to K.en.t S.ta.t.e.
  8. According to their web site they sponsor 21 varsity teams. Half the school must be in one sport or another. What does a young lady do with a degree in horses?
  9. I'm with Aaron, but my best guess is it will involve two playahs in a single incident.
  10. Their athletic department in general is certainly on the upswing and Frank Solich is a top notch coach. I hope we can be competitive with them this year.
  11. I had not heard about Syracuse, and couldn't figure out what team other than West Virginia would be WVU . Thanks for the update.
  12. This is an elite east coast university we are talking about here, packed with the finest minds available in every department.
  13. I think they know the point elasticity at any particular point along the demand curve as well as the arc elasticity.
  14. Yes I do. I also think they know what a 2 or 3 percent change would do.
  15. I seriously doubt that they understand the supply and demand curve, but I'll bet they have a pretty good estimate of the demand elasticity for their tickets.
  16. The MAC just got better. How long before the University of Phoenix joins cusa?
  17. Here's your sign.
  18. Why hold football back. We would dominate the A10 in football.
  19. So we better all hope (1) Temple does real well in the BE to help convince someone in a more desirable conference to invite us to join them, and (2) that in the mean time all the more desirable conferences don't complete their reformulation process and have no need for us or anybody else. If we could just find an all sport conference (there really aren't many) that had a reasonable geographic foot print that would be really good. For Akron, that would appear to be the Big Ten or the MAC. What are the odds in a decade we will be anywhere other than the MAC? One in a million. That's right, I'm saying we have a chance.
  20. I was at that game. Nippert looked like a first cousin of the Rubber Bowl. I could hardly keep from laughing as the Bearcat fans around me kept saying if they had a coach as good as the Zips had they could be really good. Apparently they were focused on his high school coaching prowess and not what he did at the collegiate level.
  21. Maybe so, but I'm sure the Bulldog footballers will handle VCUs squad.
  22. We are all entitled to our own opinion, but I just don't see the similarity between pages 7 and 13. True Zach had 11 of the posts on page 7 and 8 on page 13; otherwise they look pretty different to me. For instance, Buckzip had a post on 13 , but not 7. And not to pick nits with you but "Eerily similar"!! At least Ryan spent some time in Akron; John never made it out of the hood.
