Zips get first FB commitment!
Zipmeister replied to ZachTheZip's topic in Akron Zips Football Recruiting
If we cut him in half he could play both corners. -
Yes, he died. Rest assured that if the family wanted anyone to know how, they would have included it in the obit.

I thought the same thing. Not a Zips fan.lol learn how to take a joke. Two words: situational awarenessLighten up Francis. Two wordsOver reacting.I usually have your back on a lot of things, but that comment was about as bad as it gets. Why on earth would you want to crack the program when someone is expressing interest in bringing a player here? I guarantee he went running back to the kid and told him to stay the hell away from this program. If we can't help sell the program and the potential that it has, we are screwed. Our glorious record during the last several years isn't going to have recruits lining up to play at UA.Yes, I am certain you are correct. The whole scenario started out so believably. A high school coach wants to know what kind of offense a team runs so instead of contacting the appropriate coaching staff, the high school coach posts the question on a fan message board. Then reading that one poster on the message board had a negative comment about the college team, the coach rushes back to the recruit and warns him away from the college. This all makes perfect sense. I hope the coach didn't get injured by any crap falling from the flying pigs in this story.

Try this in your address bar:http://cincinnati.com/blogs/preps/2011/06/...r-james-turner/If he can just lose a couple of inches he will be perfect for us at cornerback.Great! Another small, undersized LB (5'11", 205). Same old, same old. If he can play SS, that's a diiferent situation. SEC schools thrive by playing undersized DE's and LB's that can RUN. 5'11 is not too small. 205 turns into 215 in no time once they get into the strength and conditioning program.Brian Rolle was a 5'10 and 202 pound recruit coming out of high school and that kid was a human missile on the football field in college.215 would definitely be a move in the right direction towards undersized.

Second round of conference expansion is beginning.

Zach. Thanks for the laugh, man. Really. I gotta give credit where its due. That is one of the funniest things I have heard in quite some time. Are you laughing at your own lack of reading comprehension? Striving. We may not compete at the top of the football world, but at least the athletics department is trying. To willingly allow ourselves to be pushed down a step on the ladder so that others can benefit is to give up.I have to go with Zach on this one. The post in question can't hold a candle on the funny scale to his post where he thought maybe a fball player wasn't on the summer roster because the player wasn't attending summer school. -
Anyone with ANY Zips hoops news?

I don't know who we will be playing, but I hope we schedule Carleton, Saskatchewan, and Dalhousie or teams of their caliber. I fear we will instead schedule teams like Chabot, Ohlone, and Siskiyous. Regardless, the extra practice time should be beneficial.Just out of curiosity, ZM, why would Akron travel to Canada to play three California community college teams? Maybe we could get scouting report from Derrick Tarver. The Zips could have scheduled tougher competition lining up games with 5 of the better high school teams in the state, but they couldn't legally get the practice time an international trip allows by doing so. -

Not so fast there Dougie. I believe Abreu has been saving up a growth spurt just for that reason. -

If the $2 (Canadian) price of a ticket doesn't draw a crowd, perhaps they should have a $1 hot dog promotion. -

We still need a center..not another undersized PF.I am not disappointed in this at all. I hope KD will go out there and find a true big now.I forget...how tall were Butler and VCU's centers? Butler had a 6' 11" kid that played about 20mpg, and Matt Howard was 6' 8".VCU didn't have any 7-footers.KD needs to find another rebounding machine. Then we're set.Butler's center is 6'11"" with a 6'9" backup.VCU has a 7'0" center and lists three 6'9" forwards. -

Regardless, the extra practice time should be beneficial.Well, the schedule turns out to have a little of both with a tendency towards the weak side. The last game against Carleton could be interesting. The first 4 against Sheridan, Quebec, McGill and the Champlain hasbeens should be name the score outings for the Zips. -

It may be interesting to follow his basketball career. Dunbar has a habit of graduating players who are not academically qualified to play college DI ball. -
Only difference, in Cleveland that walk involves traversing a gauntlet of exhibitionist, hookers, and thieves.

I think dreal's upcoming prediction of 13-0 is a bit optimistic. Therefore, I'm going with 6-6.edit: because dreal believes we will win every game, I provided my season prediction. For this particular game I see the Zips winning by 14.

Your first guess was 40% correct!Did you try Goggling "glscl"?Come on, you are a sports nut and a computer wizard.Your vote should have been in days ago.The pole will be closing soon and so far only one vote separates first from second place.

I hope the baseballers do not take your lack of interest personally.

Why are Democrats good sprinters and Republicans good hurdlers? -
I am interested in seeing if the OSU can win more games than Akron this year. The season starts with a head to head match of the 1-11 Zips and the 0-13 Buckeyes.

I think the Republican members of Congress could put together a football team that would beat the tar out of a team composed of Democrat members of Congress. The score would be more lopsided than a Mount Union/Akron 6 on 6 game. -

The document looks routine to me. What part of it leads you to conclude that the case might not go away so easily?
