  1. Word on the street is that you are easily confused. I asked you not to hurt my feelings.
  2. Success (wins) in football is influenced by the skill level of both the players and coaches. I’m fairly confident in assuming that last season there wasn’t a team in the MAC with a worse coaching staff than the Zips, and that the new staff significantly closes (if not reverses) this gap. The Zips most recent overall recruiting class was rated by 247 as the 7th best in the MAC; better than Ball, BG, WMU, EMU and Ohio, but not as good as Buf, Mia, CMU, Tol, KSU and NI. In the past, some posters to Zipsnation have over-predicted Zips wins by assuming other MAC teams were not making as much improvement as the Zips. Well 6 of them may have improved more than the Zips according to 247 and the Zips are playing 4 of them!!! Just how good the returning Zip players are is subject to debate – their record suggests not very, but maybe better than their record indicates due to substandard coaching. If they were getting good coaching last season this poses a serious problem for finishing with a winning record in 2022. I’m predicting wins over BG, EMU and Ohio and losses to Buf, Mia and CMU, and 3 of 4 nonconference opponents. Toss ups against KSU and NI, results in a record of somewhere between 4-8 and 6-6. I truly hope we do better. O.K., tell me where you think I have missed the mark, but don’t hurt my feelings.
  3. Given the quality of running backs I believe the Zips will be targeting in their next class, I don't believe they would be locking up a future scholarship for Anthony with a grey shirt. Therefore, I vote he is a straight walk-on this year. The question remains, why didn't the staff give him a shout-out on Wednesday like they did several other PWOs.
  4. He must have been using both an invisible pen and paper.
  5. Interesting Why is the university hiding this signing?
  6. Sky high is pretty high, but my expectations for a full recruiting year border on the unbelievable. I predict that next years crop will include two 4* (even though stars don't matter).
  7. Look at the first post in this thread. Players are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
  8. A similar strategy could be used to accommodate multiple demand for number 2. We could have 2, 2b and not 2b. Shakespeare would approve.
  9. Perhaps one of them could be Roman numeral 1.
  10. I thought you were waiting to celebrate until we have a signed LOI .
  11. Fingers and toes crossed.
  12. Was it really 3.5 years? Seemed a lot longer than that.
  13. If you open administrativeGuidelines.pdf - National Letter of Intent http://www.nationalletter.org A transfer coming from a junior college is permitted to sign a NLI, but “Four-year college transfers are not permitted to sign an NLI; therefore, are not bound by NLI signing dates to sign an athletics aid agreement.”
  14. Obviously, they are the same thing. When one is referring to the University of Alabama in the morning one should use Alabama A&M, but when referring to them in the afternoon one should use Alabama P&M.
  15. Years ago 100% used to be the top percentage. Lately I've seen them up to 10,000%. But, perhaps it doesn't matter how committed a prospect is. I noticed on 247 that one of our latest recruits was 100% committed to Campbell before committing to the Zips.
  16. For example Dijon was recently upgraded on 247 from zero to 3* and Brian McCoy from a zero to 2*
  17. Plus we have a bunch of guys 247 is currently showing as zero stars that are likely to be upgraded to at least 2 stars (although the same may happen to the other MAC schools).
  18. It's my understanding that 247 only takes info from the school and my guess that previous coaching staffs were not real good about submitting info to 247.
  19. I believe he is a walk-on. 247 hasn't heard of him. Wonder about 2 things: 1) does he know about the FCS kicker joining the team? 2) is he any good at soccer?
  20. I'm wondering now how Charles was still available by the time he committed to the Zips. And only 2 offers: Zips and Eastern Kentucky. It's a puzzlement.
  21. I take back my argument about the quality of their schedule. I found a way to fairly quickly evaluate schedule strength. Unfortunately, if I plug in the wrong team to start(which I did) it doesn't provide very good results. I got to thinking none of these teams are from SW Ohio. Duh. So now, with foot in mouth, I agree St X played a very competitive schedule in 2021, and more importantly I still agree that Charles should do well as a Zip.
  22. I believe you are correct (even though he did play his 2021 year against a slightly less than very challenging schedule).
  23. Actually they played 11 teams that made the playoffs including the 3 that they met in the playoffs. They swept the other 7 teams in their conference during the regular season; all but 1 of which (Clay) also qualified for the playoffs. Oddly, 3 of the qualifiers: St Johns, Lima Senior and St Francis De Sales did so with losing records! I'm willing to concede they played a challenging schedule if you can live without the "very" in front of it.
  24. Sounds good; first team state D1 is impressive, but I'm not sure how a high school schedule that includes 7 blowouts can be classified as very challenging.
