Don't be sorry. I hope you are right about him joining the team in the summer period. I'm always reluctant to count my chickens before they have hatched. I'm also pretty sure that most football fans realize the importance of the kicking game whether or not they watched the NFL playoffs.

Paxos is not on the roster so it appears we will have to see how the kicking game develops without him. Before the last signing date I said the Zips roster was going to be incredibly deep with foot specialists. Now I have changed my mind. The Zips have only one place kicker on the roster - Smigel, and two punters - Hazlett and Romenick.

Where did you find college film on Cameron Threatt? The only film I can find is from his high school days and shows that he was excellent at back-peddling on wide receivers. https://gozips.com/sports/football/roster/cam-threatt/7950 has some interesting info on him. According to them he has grown two inches since playing for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College last year. It also claims that he was a two year member of the Mississippi State football team. He was not; he was on their roster for only one year, 2020, as a freshman who did not see any game action.

He may be. He runs the floor fairly well and is a decent free throw shooter. Based on his (COVID shortened) 20-21 stats, he probably considers himself a stretch 4. He made 48% of his 42 3-point attempts. However, he was less impressive from beyond the arc in 21-22 when he hoisted up 138 3-point attempts – 3rd most on the team. I'm was hoping for a 9 seed and a first round rematch with THE (always over seeded) osu. Now, if both teams actually wind up in the Midwest Region (even though the NCAA seems to like to send Akron teams as far away from Akron as they can for tournament competition) it looks like I have to hope osu can win a game or two to set up a thrashing at the hand.s of the Zips.

We have a lot of catching up to do. In the most recently signed recruiting class 247 reports that the 9 MAC teams with higher rated classes than ours signed 119 3*. We got 5. On a positive note, right now 247 has our 2023 class ranked tied for 5th best in the MAC.

Think how you would feel if we actually signed this guy! Do not look at all the offers the Zips have made on 247; your heart may not be able to take it.
