I understand increased enrollment would increase university revenue; it's how increasing enrollment would reduce athletic department expenses that giving me trouble.

It sure sounds like you think increasing enrollment would reduce athletic expenses which makes no sense. I guess this could be true if, for example, suppliers agreed to provide athletic equipment at a lower cost as enrollment increases occur, or if coaches agreed to lower salaries tied to enrollment increases.

The Mrs. and I were in the same (but dramatically less populated) stadium a few years before you to witness the Zips destroy the Bearcats. The Cincy fans sitting near us all attributed the result to the fact that Akron had a real coach and they didn't. This was the same coach that was a world beater as a high school coach when he was one of the few coaches who could recruit, but then couldn't win at ND, and my out-of-state friends raged on me when we hired a proven loser. It's interesting/depressing to see the trajectory of both teams since that day.

A few additional questions, and a suggestion, have occurred to me. Will there be divisions in esports just like in real sports? Are there going to be esport scholarship limits? Will the school be required to provide ejocks with insurance policies to cover esport injuries like carpal tunnel? And I'm probably missing out on an a life-changing opportunity by not doing this myself, but somebody in Akron should establish the eSport Hall of Fame so Akron can keep up with Cleveland and Canton and their Halls of Fame (The eHall of Fame).

The reason we are not there is because we are in a conference. If we were not in a conference, each season we could schedule 12 sacrifice football games and scads of sacrifice bball games. If it's good for BYU, it has to be good for us.

I've always said that the farther south I go, the smarter I get. Alabama, Mississippi and Texas have 3 of the highest 5 COVID infection rates in the country. Come on Bubba, let's play us some football.
