I don't know if it's the point, but college athletics keeps some youngsters busy and prevents or delays their life of crime.
-
I heard a rumor that the athletic department has taken your comment to heart and is about to unveil a new advertising campaign with the theme: We have a great soccer team, come watch our football team.
-
Some how I knew you wouldn't be able to admit that your claim that nobody is wearing their mask correctly was crap.

The Canadian government will not allow the Toronto Blue Jays to stage home games when the baseball season starts this week, saying cross-border travel poses a health risk. The team is likely to play at a minor-league stadium in Buffalo instead. How can the Canadian government not realize that Buffalo IS in Canada?
-
I am not on a side. I want some evidence that everyone is wearing their mask wrong.

Because this sentence caused the needle in my bullshit meter to spike, could you please provide a source to support it?

I can't think of one.

debbie; they could all pretend they are in a UFC cage match.

There is a 5-10% chance the Zips will participate in some games this season.

COVID 19 are the magic words BIG schools can use to get out of paying the guarantees . It's really generous of some BIG schools considering making the payments any way, but I will be amazed if low tier BIGs pay a dime because they cannot afford to be as charitable.

BUMP Nobody with a comment?

Here is a part of an article published in the Lincoln Journal star. I'm not sure I believe that Nebraska will be paying the guarantees to the teams they have dropped from their schedule this year, but that's what their AD (Moos) says they might do. Nebraska had been scheduled to play nonconference home games against Central Michigan (Sept. 12), South Dakota State (Sept. 19) and Cincinnati (Sept. 26). NU was set to pay $1.3 million to Central Michigan, $515,000 to South Dakota State and $400,000 to Cincinnati. Moos is sensitive to the financial hit those schools incur as a result of the Big Ten's plan for 2020. "Depending on what things look like in the future, we want to bring them back at a later date," he said. "But certainly we're very open to discussions about paying the (contractual) guarantees and such. You know, that's only fair."

It's my understanding that there may have been ulterior motives for some of the cuts at Stanford. For example, I heard the main reason synchronized swimming was cut was to head-off a gender discrimination lawsuit by 72Roo who wanted to try out for the team. ?

A better nickname than the JAR for the facility would be The Dungeon.

There is hope that the composition of Akron's BOT (and others) will improve over time. Think of what university security guards looked like when you were an undergrad; a couple of unarmed old guys roaming around campus carrying a bunch of building keys and wearing uniforms that looked kike they were obtained from Goodwill. But once events demonstrated that security had to be improved, it was. Recent financial difficulties have demonstrated that individuals with the financial acumen to address such difficulties would be better board members than those who view the position as some kind of honorarium.

Shouldn't present an undue risk to us. I cant find a photo to prove it, but I have heard that this years Zips uniform is a full blue and gold hazmat suit with a chrome helmet.

I have, upon occasion, suggested that we are only numerous tragic bus accidents away from a MAC football championship. Since COVID 19 seems to be less serious for young people, spread of the virus among opposing teams seems like a much less tragic way to facilitate the Zips path to football greatness. The link you posted indicates that social distancing is being encouraged. Wonder if this will result in the Tigers switching to a spread offense.

Now hold on a minute there 5; are you trying to eliminate (or reduce) what could be the most interesting thing to watch at most games?
-
UofA's board members would not be eligible for committee membership given your requirement that the members be smart.

I was referring to myself. Happy 4th.

One way to tell that a guy has way to much free time on his hands; he writes a piece of crap like "How Would West Virginia Fare in Newly Realigned Mid-American Conference?" Another way to tell is if a person takes the time to read "How Would West Virginia Fare in Newly Realigned Mid-American Conference?" and then posts a comment about it on ZipsNation.

Any chance X will now be playing for Red Scare?

The committee should be limited to university and college presidents and members of the school's board of trustees.
