I saw a Spectrum commercial on TV this morning featuring a large young man wearing a t-shirt with the new Akron logo on the breast. At one point he is entering a place with a Zipburger sign on it. I’m saying to myself “that kid must play for Akron. By the end of the commercial he identifies his hometown as Cincinnati. If his name was mentioned, I missed it. So I check the roster out and there are 3 guys with Cincy listed as their hometown. The weight for two of them was listed at 200 and the third was listed as 6’4” and 235 - Conner Cravaack. This may have been the guy in the commercial, but he looked way bigger to me. I figure this got whoever it was some NIL money. Any help out there with an ID?

Didn't the NCAA specify time periods during each year that limit when players can enter the portal? Assuming they didn't bar entry during the season any week could be the cut off week. Week 4 may be the cut off for most players, but not necessarily all of them. Week three would be the cut off for a kid who played in week 0,1,2 and 3. Week 8 would be the cutoff for anyone who played in only three games before week 8 and week 8. And so forth. If there are limits during the season, never mind.

Zips win by 14. With 2 missed extra points and a safety.
-
Well, that's nothing to brag about if you started in 2021.
-
Washington State and Oregon State might be looking for games.
-
Sorry, I have blotted the Kentucky game from my memory and, therefore, it does not count. Hence, Morgan State must be in the SEC.
-
How in the world did Morgan State get into the SEC???

Clark, it's difficult to break from tradition. On a different issue: I looked forward all week to watching the Zips/Indiana game as advertised on the big ten network. It even was mentioned during half time of the preceding game. But at the appointed time they showed a game between 2 big 10 teams. I was bummed. Question, the missed field goal at the end of the game; which was it: bad snap, bad hold, bad kicker?
-
Are you predicting the Zip's kicker will hit two field goals or miss an extra point? Personally, I'm thinking the Zips might go for the rare triple safety.

The UK/UA game should be a classic resistible force versus a movable object game. Go Zips.
-
I put those on the ground crew. They should have mowed the artificial turf shorter.

Miami-Hamilton!!! If the Zips are still looking for a couple of games, they could ramp up local interest by scheduling the Goodyear Wingfoots. There must be enough of the players still above grass that they could put together a team. Also might consider contacting some of the area YMCAs to see if there is any interest in playing the Zips.

Most of these teams have a lot in common this week. EMU, Ohio and WMU are playing non FBS opponents so let's focus on the others. Your tier 1 team is a 9.5 underdog Your remaining 1 tier 2 team is a 16.5 underdog. Your 6 tier 3 teams are an average 16 underdog. Your remaining tier 4 team is a 35.5 underdog. Not a lot of respect from the books in week one. They say the MAC finishes week 1 with an 0-9 (5 of which fall into the money game category) record against FBS teams. Ouch.

That's not surprising. The EJ / Kurt relationship hardly ever gets mentioned.
-
NO WAY. In 2026 this game will have been played 3 years ago.
-
At this rate, by 2026 it will be an even money game.

Got sacked by two guys. Neither one seemed to have hit him very hard. Got up slowly on his own and walked to the correct sideline. Maybe one of the tacklers said something mean about his mom.

Come up with your best answer to each of the following three questions about this season’s football team using just your brain (***NO PEEKING at the roster or other written information sources***). 1. There are currently 106 players on the roster; how many of them are listed as being less than 6’0”?” 2. Which of the following three states has provided the most players to this season’s Zip squad: Florida, Georgia, or Pennsylvania? 3. What is the total weight, in tons, of the 106 players on this season’s squad? Big prizes may be available for the person who supplies the answer closest to the correct answer for each question (but probably not).

OK, it's the count down to a BIG announcement about Zips football (but don't tell anyone else).
-
Nope. Count down to Zips football. ZipsNation apparently cannot afford one of those countdown programs, so I'm doing my part to build the anticipation. 3
