  1. Just spit-balling here. Do you think the lack of discipline has anything to do with the team's heavy reliance on the portal?, I know other teams use it, but I'm uncertain how many have the player turnover experienced by the Zips. P.S. The current culture can't hold a candle to the D2 days under Gordon Larson (local kids, playing in a pathetic stadium, who would run through a wall for the team).
  2. You wouldn't think that such an occurrence was possible anyplace with a Big Time football program, so that alone bumps the probability of it happening at Akron up to 50%.
  3. I hate missing the opportunity to join hundreds and hundreds of Zip fans at the big game, GO ZIPS
  4. Please provide a list of the three most interesting things you found. I perused the document and the more I looked the stronger the feeling became that the conference may be spending more money on accountants filing tax-exempt returns. than it would have to pay in taxes as a taxable entity.
  5. Look on the bright side. We haven't kicked off to start both halves of a game in a long time.
  6. I think it has something to do with daylight savings time.
  7. Did the Zips leave the MAC and join the MEAC?
  8. I'm glad you decided not to mention James Madison. It would have upset me to think that a team that just decided to play big time ball moved to 3-0 on the year by edging North Carolina 70-50 last Saturday.
  9. I'll wager (and give you 5 to 3 odds up to a million - even money on anything over that) that most people find the discussion of some other topic more tedious than gambling stats. For double or nothing, the over/under on the exact percentage is 60%.
  10. Any chance the jersey numbers could be done in sequins and a couple of rows of fringe run up the outside of each pant leg?
  11. 17 members of Colgate's football squad this year are from Ohio. So there is the possibility that there will be more Raider fans in the stands to watch the big contest than Zip fans! Heard a rumor that the urinals from the Rubber Bowl will be inducted into the Zips hall of fame at halftime. If that doesn't draw in a pot load of Zip fans, I don't know what it will take.
  12. I like the looks of #1 on offense. C.B. doesn't look like precisely the kind of QB JoeMo's looking for to run his O.
  13. I do not believe it is possible for an underdog to cover the spread, but we can prevent the buckeyes from doing so. GO ZIPS.
  14. I am confident the Zips will outscore the competition in a least 7 quarters this season. Maybe even at least 8.
  15. Really interesting update. One question. I noticed the complete tarping off of the lower level has yet to be completed. Do you know the expected completion date?
  16. Check settings, maybe you accidently switched to invisible ink.
  17. Well I'd like him better if he called it Akron U, but I'll take him anyway.
  18. One thing I noted was the apparent difference in KDs recruiting philosophy and that of the current head coach he is working under. From a distance I get the impression the current Zip philosophy is get anyone willing to sign. I don't hear much about goodness of fit.
  19. From now on when I want to know an opinion on the quality of the Zips recruiting efforts I'm heading straight to Rivals. They updated their 2024 Comprehensive Team Ratings today and the Zips come in at #5 in the MAC. Which is way ahead of #16 Temple, but trails #1 and #2 rated UCF and Marshall.
  20. Although I hope for much better, I think 4-8 is most likely given the Zips penchant to blow a couple of games they should have won.
  21. The TWO home OOC games in both 25 and 26 makes them equally attractive to me. This should be the Zips template for FB scheduling.
  22. Perhaps, but we need several over-sized guys to make up for Marshon. 2025 VERBAL COMMITMENTS Cibastian Broughton, QB, 6-0 175, Fleming Island HS, Fleming Island, FL Tairan Davis, S, 5-11, 180, Ursuline HS, Youngstown, OH Marshon Gregory-Bey, DE, 6-4, 230, Miamisburg HS, Miamisburg, OH Gavin James, LB, 6-0, 215, Lincoln HS, Tallahassee, FL Vann Kavals, DE, 6-5, 235, OLSH HS, Coraopolis, PA
  23. The CAM, where dyslexics go to get noitca.
  24. Not much football value inside Illinois State either.
