you know we had a huge discusion on how to get people to like the band and I think you just gave us the answer. after this the band could come out and do nothing but stand still and play Mozart and the audiance would shower us with thanks.p.sit would take a confident man to do that in the snow

That's the key...... Not only "can the coaches do something with the talent", can the talent come through in critical time of the game. This is what the Zips have been lacking for the past 20 odd years.I've actually thought that they've been rather good at that. every year under JD we've had atleast one game where they pull it out in grand fasion of course as I type this I can think of several times where they've "crapped down their leg" (trademark zips win)

I'm betting "suspend student section for being to rowdy" or maybe relocate the game due to cloud coverage.I'm not very knowledgeable in the soccer area (do my best to follow the zips and team USA) so I'm kinda surprised to find out that we are suppose to do so well after losing Bush and Z

things are not nearly THAT bad. the people on the field atleast know how to play and there has been steps started to trim the fat (atleast in pre-game) I wouldn't go as far as saying they "suck like no other" please keep in mind that the director is also a teacher and needs to provide an education experience for the members while entertaining the masses not just give YOU what YOU wantswitching to a brass only band would be a fight and one that I'm not totally sure is worth going through there are a lot of great college bands out there that march wood winds so it can be done.I'm all for eliminating the music ed dealone extra week of practice (even if it's optional) is an amazing idea but first we would have to make it so there would be living conditions for those members even if it's just local band members opening up their homes.I see nothing wrong with letting students/grads pick the shows just as long as when it comes to the final say the fans are taken into account and we aren't fielding stuff that only musicians would enjoy.if we did have an audition for the band then it would have to take place around this time of year so that the students who didn't make it would still be able to scheduale their classes acordingly

I'm at the Jake right now, supposedly OSWHO promotes themselves and called them (the indians) to set this up. Well that is what i just heard from two "3rd best band in the land" members.maybe we should just go down to cowlumbus and do ourselves a Blue Jackets game The CBJ's are going to be playing for the cup, what better time to embarrass that school down south than now by playing in their hometown arena during the NHL playoffs?Somebody get that organized.it would be a long shot but worth looking into all the same. problem I see is the fact that whenever we travel we have someone else pay for it (like high school shows and such) but maybe they could get the B&G brass together to do something. maybe my Kappa's could get something rollin.

ok I just watched something sad. I was watching all bets are off with bruce drennan and they were at the Jake (don't care what it says on the side of the stadium it's still the Jake) and they were all excited to have the OSwho band there for opening day. it makes me sick that they would pass up a school in their own backyard to go with those guys. The band needs to get things going and make sure crap like this doesn't happen. rant over
