  1. 1) not every major college band has nothing to do for practicly the entire time they're there and with the down time they do have they have a place to duck out of sight2)what OU does is flush and trash so for them to remember the notes is like asking a 5th grader to remember what the color blue is first of all second the UA band only has three days a week for class. now if the U bumped up the credits and added a few days things would probably be different but to learn one show perfome it then learn another show in another week and keep the old show fresh from last week in order to perform it at some high school band concert thing and then go back to the new show again your gonna need a little help with only three days a week. as far as pregame goes they should have that down.I think a lot of the standing around issue will be solved once we are on campus and have some places to duck out of sight insted of just standing at attention for hours on end.
  2. hell I hated marching on the stuff let alone playing football
  3. I don't like the idea of doing the pre-pregame sessions (sorry just can't bring myself to use an OSU name) in the guzz or EJ because it's just a tad to far away from the stadium and everything else going on. I would like to see it start either in the JAR or Memorial. I agree that those might be to big but we could shut down one side and have everyone on the other side while shutting the curtains up top like they do for the womens game. I was in band a number of years and I've said to people before that they should keep the more artsy things for concert band. HOWEVER I would like them to find the fine line so that the band can continue to play songs that aren't easy cheesy arrangements (like that band to the east) play popular stuff yes but just find some way to not play popular and stupid. I also hope that the band has some way of making a cool entrence to the stadium so they don't have to just stand around and mingle like they did outside the gate of the old bowl. and even though not everyone agrees with me on this I think it would be awesome to see the old tire drum come back (even if it's a polymer tire) it's just that the band needs some gimik (sp?) I love them to death but as of now they just kinda melt in with all the other bands and have nothing that really stands out. atleast now that I'm not there to make them the sexiest band in the land
  4. on a sad note. my dad is a super for Ben Imhoff and they tried to get some work in this joint and it didn't happen if it would have I would have gotten some great "insider" pictures for you all
  5. don't mind those people. just a bunch of people with nothing better to do than try to start a fight.
  6. LOVE IT! thanks for the link flipand I just hope that "authentic tailgating" does not mean "Can't state tailgating"
  7. or is Y-Town gonna get that beating they've been asking for?
  8. I was looking around and came across this little articlehttp://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog...rn=ncaaf,149836
  9. so whats greater freakish wingspan or moster hands?
  10. a new arena is needed but I think it would be in the best of interests to wait on this football stadium to be totaly up and running (dorms and all) before we start taking on a task like this (especially with an AD who wants out)
  11. and within the next 3 years this entire nation will be doing the humpty hump
  12. tonight is gonna be awesome. watching our boy b-ball team in HD AND!!! one of Akron's greatest soccer players in HD
  13. If you are lucky, that probably still happens. it's a tuesday tradition
  14. I was looking around the net today and I found this neat article of famus alumni from all 65 school check it outhttp://www.fanhouse.com/news/ncaa-tourname...nt-teams/386694p.sAkron is the last school on the list
  15. what LBJ gives us is exposure. I agree that Nate, Nik, Humpty ect should get more credit than LBJ I do think that when you are a mid major in Ohio (especially with OSWHO down the road) you take whatever angle you can get untill you start winning and winning constantly.
  16. in 1986 I remember being held upside down and then being smacked in the a$$
  17. it didn't have to be a hard punch. Nate was running in and already moving fast so as long as chris's punch was sturdy he wouldn't have to thow it with great force to inflict a lot of damage.
  18. the guy is a thug. nothing more. after his "college days" are over it's gonna be back to the streets and eventually to jail
  19. So greater "manhood" would have been shown by also getting one of the Zips ejected? It takes far greater strength and self-discpline to walk away and do the right thing for your team than retaliate and show you are no better. Even over on the Can't boards there are calls for addtional suspension time.I don't think one of the Akron players should have hit back but one of them should have step up to Mr. THug and told him that this crap isn't gonna fly. just get in his grill a little. not doing so shows that you have no respect for your team mates or backbone. but again it's something you have to go the right way about doing. I'm sure if I walked up and punched one of your family members like that you wouldn't just "walk away." atleast I hope you wouldn't
  20. No game suspension because is was not a fighting foul. According to the talking heads on tv.            you must be kidding
