  1. I'll help with the "Z-I...". I'm in 121.
  2. I cannot find an NCAA limit. I suspect it is self-limiting by the University/team and the players' desire to play. You also need to account for some of the new recruits redshirting. However, I agree that it is probable that not all of the players currently with the Zips will be there in the Fall.
  3. It's official http://www.timbers.com/post/2016/03/14/portland-timbers-acquire-attacker-darren-mattocks-vancouver-whitecaps-fc
  4. I agree we should be hosting and that the system is rigged. The selection criteria changes every year, but the makeup of the committee is always skewed to the power conferences. NCAA in some ways is worse than FIFA. I don't recall if it was stated on this board or elsewhere, but the NCAA is supposed to look out for the student athletes. March Madness is all about money. I understand that the Zips resume lacks because we've never done anything in the NCAA Tourney, and we got crushed the last time we were there. That game was over 10 minutes in and wasn't interesting. But, that does not excuse the improper seeding in the NIT. Also, I feel for you. It's bad enough being anywhere in Ohio with all the blOSU honks, but I'm sure it's magnified in the heart of Suckeye land. Of course, the local news here jumps right on the Suckeye bandwagon with 'well this game does nothing for Ohio State yada yada yada..." Why the H*ll don't they all move to Columbus? How many of them actually attended blOSU?
  5. Perhaps he has decided to change professions. If I remember correctly, Kofi majored in biology and had aspirations to go into the medical profession. Edit: I should add that I don't know. This is total supposition on my part.
  6. @SpinThanks for starting this list and @chris for adding to it. I tried to re-compile from and group to get a feel for how many former Zips are in MLS, foreign, etc. MLS Saad Abdul-Salaam Sporting KC Chad Barson RB Columbus Crew SC Teal Bunbury ST New England Revolution Evan Bush GK Montreal Impact Scott Caldwell CM New England Revolution Chris Korb RB DC United Richie Laryea - Orlando City SC Darren Mattocks ST Vancouver Whitecaps FC / Portland Timbers FC [pending] Darlington Nagbe CAM Portland Timbers FC USMNT Dillon Serna CAM Colorado Rapids Wil Trapp CDM Columbus Crew SC USMNT Zarek Valentin RB Portland Timbers FC Ben Zemanski MF Portland Timbers FC Europe / Other Foreign Anthony Ampaipitakwong MF Bangkok United F.C. 7. 8. It's fun to go down there for a soccer game (except when we should be hosting). They know we're the better team, and they hate it.
  9. Probably the top reason I hate the Buckeyes so much. I've watched how totally classless so many of them are to any other team's fans. It's sickening. I'm so glad that Thad hasn't worked out for them.
  10. What? We just played 3 games in 3 days in a "cavernous arena".
  11. Nice....Who can name all of the players in the picture?
  12. Hearts: Perry Kitchen preferred Tynecastle to 'big MLS offer' ...The 24-year-old has returned to the USA to finalise paperwork after securing a work permit that should allow him to complete his move next week. "I was pleased to get him and quite surprised," said Neilson. "He had a big offer in the MLS, but he wanted to come to Europe to get into the USA team more consistently."...
  13. Yes, TheTank123 - Uncle. Bisbee - Grandpa I hope to see Bisbee later this month (if DeAndre is among USMNT roster for March 29th match in Columbus)
  14. Hearts seal deal for USA midfielder Perry Kitchen Scotland, interesting.

  16. Just read an article today that Perry is very much interested in going to Europe. Not so driven by MLS money. I can't post now from my phone but will try to post later. Edit:. http://wapo.st/1OrFPQU?tid=ss_tw article is titled about obafemi martins but scroll down and there is info about Perry.
  17. I'm not sure what Perry is expecting to find. $400k is a pretty good deal by MLS standards. Given that level of money and that DCU has his MLS rights, I'm not sure a deal is there elsewhere in MLS. I don't know enough about salaries in various European leagues to comment.
  18. Columbus Crew SC's Wil Trapp, Ethan Finlay and Tony Tchani bullish on USMNT prospects following January camp
