  1. I don't understand the comments about UCLA and UNC getting screwed worse than Akron. Akron RPI #2 ---> #5 seed UCLA RPI #5 ---> #6 seed UNC RPI #9 ---> #9 seed I think the Zips got screwed the most. The Selection Committee scams the RPI whenever they want and refer to it only when it's convenient; why bother having it when the big conferences collude anyway. We have 2 home games and only one possible road game prior to the College Cup. I know the Zips can do this. I'm just beyond p'ssed that the NCAA can so completely disrespect my team.
  2. That's you. I wouldn't trade anything the Men's Soccer team has done for anything. It was a GREAT weekend for this Zips fan, hopefully to be finalized with the correct announcement at 5:30 pm today.
  3. Yes, Steve came in late, but the Sounders still went down 3-0. Big deficit to overcome.
  4. K-Roo You may be nobody, but I'm not. There's nothing more fun to watch and no group of players who take more pride in being Zips than our Men's Soccer teams year in and year out. I strongly suggest you should keep your statements to yourself if you don't like soccer. That's your loss. Attitude like yours is the reason for failure. If you really want Zips sports to succeed, contact the AD. Offer your help; ask him what you can do. Put him on the spot, and ask him what he's doing, but don't bash our proud and successful Zips whom I'd travel anywhere to support (and have).
  5. Excellent article about Reinaldo Brenes.
  6. Four Zips in the Conference finals. Sounders (Zakuani) vs Galaxy http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-...RSL-v-SEA/recap DC United (Kithen & Korb) vs Dynamo (Sarkodie) http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2012-...8-NY-v-DC/recap
  7. Buriram United wins Thai FA Cup
  8. NCAA.com: Akron’s Meves sets shutout record Consistency, longevity and a solid defense in front of you — those are all ingredients that help make a successful goalkeeper, and Akron senior David Meves possesses all of them. ...
  9. According to the site you linked, it doesn't seem like much of a projection reading this note at the bottom of the page: The RPI will change dramatically as the season progresses. The projections are not reflective of any national polls nor are they attempting to gauge who the best teams are. They are designed to predict which teams would be selected to the NCAA Tournament if the selections were to be made at this moment.
  10. + one of Maryland's best defenders will be out for their next game after getting a red card in this game.
  11. Since I don't have a twitter account, I e-mailed @ZipsPaul. I think we'll be hearing about it soon. (Edit: He was already a step ahead of me.)
  12. A question ... If Evan Bush had 49 career shutouts, why is he not listed in the NCAA record book? See page 6 (bottom left corner of the page) of the 2012 record book. A comment ... According to page 6 of the record book mentioned above, the NCAA career leader had 50 career shutouts. David Meves now has 52 (Hartwick, MSU)...and is the new NCAA career leader. Did I miss this being mentioned somewhere previously?
  13. Come on Zipsnation, Scott Caldwell needs our VOTES
  14. Awesome! I'll see you there. Bisbee doesn't know what he's missing. Safe travels my friend.
  15. I didn't see Ben until the end of the game; so, he may have come after the Crew Award Ceremony. That explains why he was "dressed up".
  16. I agree that Alfred still looks out of sorts. Men of the match...Meves (great saves), Caldwell (great block), Trapp (nice shot/assist on rebound), and Brenes (only/winning goal) It was great to be there with so many Akron fans. Kudos to the AK-Rowdies for bringing it to blOSU. Finally, it was nice talking with our current member of the Crew, Ben Speas, who was in attendance to support his friends.
  17. Remember to vote for Scott Caldwell.
  18. Must have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Can't.
  19. Scott Caldwell Named One Of Ten Finalists For Senior CLASS Award Vote here through November 19th
  20. I'm very happy for Jared, the entire coaching staff, and our team. GO ZIPS!
  21. I think best performance during the regular season was the 3-0 win at North Carolina followed by the 2-0 win at Wake Forest two days later to start the 2010 season.
  22. By the way, it was great seeing Matt Tutich and his father at the game.
  23. Meves probably had 4 or 5 (maybe more) excellent saves in the match.
