I'm not sure exactly. That's my recollection, but I have been known to be wrong before. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can confirm our deny my statement. *edit* so it appears that MTSU was not a part of the bracket busters matchups. VCU was, though, twice.

For the record I believe the series we had with MTSU was a result of the Bracket Buster games. Same with VCU IIRC. Just because it's not called a bracket buster doesn't we shouldn't be scheduling at least one high mid-major school a year.

Like others have said, I'm worried about the motivation with this one. It's got to be hard to get over the disappointment and get prepared to play the next game. I'm glad that the Houston connection will help, and the Wednesday game does give us an extra day of prep. Just doing a quick bit of stat browsing and it appears that UH is a guard oriented team with talented Junior guard Rob Gray Jr averaging 20.5 ppg, and Senior Damyean Dotson(who is listed as a guard but must be a wing at 6'5", 210lbs) averaging 17.3 ppg. Dotson also averages 7.0 rebounds per game to lead the team. They do not appear to have a lot of size as the only player I can see that gets many minutes with any size is 6'10", 200lb Danrad Knowles. He only averages 7 ppg though and it appears down the stretch he didn't play significant minutes. My guess is that we will have trouble defending their guards but should have success with our bigs in Big Dog and Kwan. I actually want to watch their game against UConn to get a better idea of their style of play and will probably be able to give a little better insight once I've done so. I'm still disappointed about Saturday but I love Zips basketball too much to not get excited to watch them play again. Their small NIT run a few years back is one of my fonder memories as a fan and I'd love to see them put another one together.

Tough way to close the season, but I feel like that game was more won by Kent than lost by us, if that makes sense. Credit goes to Kent in that they played motivated and quick and kept us off our game the entire game. We just couldn't seem to get over the hump, and when we did, they went on a big run that we couldn't recover from. If they play like that next weekend they could bust some brackets, as much as I hate to say that.

Agreed. I really do despise OU. Their players are whiners, fans are trolls, and coach is a baboon. Kent, I just appreciate the rivalry for what it is.

So excited for the game tomorrow. No doubt the Kent is a hot team having won 8 of their last 9, but we were their one loss in there. Zips did a great job handling Hall in the second half of last weeks game. Looking forward to Big Dog having another big game!!

That was a pretty entertaining game tonight. I thought Kent going on the 10-2 run to end the first half was the turning point in the game.

Very pleased with the first half so far. Have to close the final 3 minutes out strong. This is the Zips team that no one in the MAC can beat. Still 23 minutes left though.

Shame here. Toledo was up 32-17 but allowed OU to close the half on a 12-5 run to get things back in range. Good news is that usually you can say "well they won't shoot that well the rest of the game" under most circumstances. However Toledo is a team that could keep shooting the ball this well. Let's hope they extend the lead to start the half and get the momentum back. I'd personally love to see OU and UB go down tonight. Edit: Didn't even realize the second half started, and of course OU goes on an 8-0 run to tie the game just over 2 minutes into the second half.

PseWith 8 minutes to go in the first half Toledo is up 21-11 over the Bobkittens. Can't say I'd be upset to see them exit Cleveland early. Still a lot of game left though.

To be fair at full speed it looked a lot worse than in the replay. Noah went flying, either because of his size difference or a little bit of extra acting. So I wasn't surprised to see Jimond defend him. Also yes their leading score Will Mangum was suspended for a violation of team rules.

Jimond got the T for mouthing off to the guy that took Noah out. Noah stopped to intentionally draw contact and got a bit more than he bargained for.

Yeah I'm not mad about the calls during that stretch. I'm also not really that mad at Ivey for picking up the T. At full speed it looked like a rough foul. But the refs got it right. Keep feeding Big Dog!!

Good job weathering the storm. Zips playing tougher defense and have taken the lead with under 4 to go. It's all about effort. Gotta keep it up and try to box out better

Right. During their win streak they didn't beat anyone with an RPI above 150. In fact, Ohio is the only team they neat the entire season with an RPI above 150 (121). Also 6 of those 8 wins came at home. I would probably agree that they scare me the least, with the exception of maybe Toledo.
