  1. So do we have anyone who we can sub in to flop when Hall clears out with his forearm like the guy who drew the charge on Antino?
  2. They really awarded Hall two free throws on a foul as he was receiving a pass.
  3. +1 on this. Poor Kwan lost his confidence down the stretch and lately is trying to force things. He just needs to relax and play smarter. Not a bad half overall. A few forced threes but I like the defense efforts, except for the offensive rebounds. That is becoming our MO lately. Jimond is such an unbelievable athlete. I wish he'd keep pounding the lane.
  4. At the beginning of the MAC season, who would have predicted that WMU would be a 10 point favorite over CMU, even at home??
  5. Down 3 with 12 seconds left and we have Kwan taking a deep 3? I suppose if it goes in we are all cheering but I'm not sold on the call. Not the smartest shot selection. But c'est la vie. Live by the three, die by the three.
  6. Apologies for my former self (I shamefully admit that I am the uploader of the video). I captured the video using a window capture while streaming the game in Firefox. I think in my excitement about the results I didn't care much about quality as I did getting the memory uploaded as quickly as possible. In hindsight, it kills me to see that I dropped the ball on the quality of all of the videos I uploaded. I attended that game live, though. Such a great memory. Funny to see the familiar faces and realize how long ago that was.
  7. That was a great read. Thank you very much
  8. Definitely a good idea there. Admittedly I haven't been to a game in the JAR for some years so I may not be the most qualified to even comment on this matter, but I'm just playing devils advocate here. Your idea is good, but what happens if there are two moments within the final 8 minutes of a game? Sponsors would have to pay for their products to be distributed during a certain game. Say you line up two sponsors for each game. What if a game doesn't have any such moments? There are a lot of logistics that go into these situations that have to be accounted for. Again, I agree that keeping the crowd engaged is a high priority, but I don't think it's so cut and dry to make it happen every game.
  9. Just curious but how would you like to to see them handle this? This isn't the first time I've seen this mentioned in this thread. I was able to watch the replay this morning and I believe I know which point you are referring to. It was at the 4:38 mark and Kwan had just hit the big 3 to go up 59-55. To me the credit goes to the Toledo coach(not going to attempt to butcher his name) for calling the time out to limit the momentum. The timeout led to a full two minutes between stopping and starting play, likely due to the game being broadcast and commercials being shown during breaks. I will agree that hokey games might not be the best way to keep the crowd motivated but two minutes is a long time to be playing Zombie Nation to keep the crowd hyped up. I don't necessarily know what the right answer is for those situations.
  10. Look; if anything, I consider the fact that we are unhappy after a 26 win season to be a testament to the amount of progress this program has made since Keith took over. I look at the post season rundown from K92's post in the Buckeye thread and it makes me realize how valuable Keith has been. Before he got here in 04, we had been to the post season 3 times. Since then, we've played in 12 NIT or NCAA games. I don't include the CIT game because that didn't exist until recently. Ask any other MAC team to trade their last 10 seasons with ours and see if they say no. You think because OU went to the sweet 16 a couple years ago that they're content with the success of their program? You can't win any post season games unless you make them. And given the MAC as a whole, we've seen how tough it can be to get there. I have faith that KD will get us over that hump sooner rather than later.
  11. So much negativity around here. Understandably so. But the sky is not falling. I hope everyone takes a deep breath and regroups today. Am I heartbroken about this loss? Hell yes. Am I furious with the team? Sort of. They battled hard as hell last night when they had a horrible shooting night. Yes we should probably have done some things differently. There were mental mistakes. There was exhaustion. It wasn’t just one thing that lead to this loss. And the bottom line is we had a chance at the end to put the game away and weren’t able to come away with the win. I was very worried when OT began, and for good reason. Big Dog played 38 minutes last night(!). I’m not 100% sure but I’d be willing to bet that that was a season high for him. Him going 1 for 6 from the FT line in overtime was an obvious sign that he had nothing left in the tank. Keith is right, though. If he can get himself in better shape he could be unstoppable. As it is right now he is a hard man to keep contained, and has some great moves for his size. If he can shed a few pounds and work on his touch around the rim for next year, look out. He could be a monster. (on a side note, I had never noticed his calves before until they zoomed in on them during the first half last night and holy s*%$!!) Very, very similar ending as the Buffalo game… Jake turnover late, Antino mental mistake. In this one we were lucky that the Buckeyes were so terrible at finishing at the rim, but how many of those misses inside were due to Big Dog altering shots? As great of an opportunity as this was, we need to realize who we are for a second. How many of our players would start on that depleted Buckeye team? Maybe Isaiah Johnson; that’s it. Down year or not, that’s still a very athletic, long team unlike we’ve seen much of this year. How many of those games where a mid-major team downs a P5 team did the mid-major team have a poor shooting night and still win? Not many. Bottom line is that for a mid-major team to beat a P5 team, it generally takes an exceptional game. This was an opportunity where even a less than exceptional game could have resulted in a win and we just didn’t have it. They’re human, they’re going to miss shots. How else can you explain a team like the GS Warriors to lose to the Lakers? Even the pros have off shooting nights. So while I am very very disappointed in this loss, I’m not quite as bitter as the rest of you. Does that mean I’m okay with mediocrity? No, I want this program to succeed in these big games, but I’m not going to give up on them until they do. Thanks for a great season and thanks to Reggie, Jake and Pat for 4 years of service.
  12. So since the season is officially over will those 'in the know' fill us in on what really happened with Pat?
  13. Food for thought.... Most predictor/game simulators indicate that this could be a very close game(within the OSU -5 spread).... Looking at the results from both teams, Zips are 4-3 in games decided by 5 points or less, Buckeyes are 5-1 in the same category. Not 100% sure I trust this team should it come down to a possession or two late in the game. We saw nerves on Saturday with the Buffalo O-board and turnover on our last possession. Zips need to get a lead early and maintain it. Bottom line.
  14. Looking back at the 06-07 season I saw that that was the year we faced #25 Nevada at the JAR. Dru Joyce had a chance to tie at the buzzer but missed. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recap?gameId=263562006 Also, apparently former Cavalier Ramon Sessions was on that Nevada team. I didn't know that.
  15. Personally I disagree with this idea. If we think Kwan sometimes loses himself mentally during some games, what do you think demoting him to the bench would do? I'd rather start the same lineup we have been, just have a shorter leash on Kwan and Aaron in tonight's game. OSU isn't a team we can afford to spot 10+ points early, at home.
  16. Good find. I agree, nice to see us get some respect. Now let's go get a win and give a reason for the rest of the pundits to respect us.
  17. Jae'Sean Tate is out for the season with a shoulder injury. Buckeyes do not defend the 3 very well. But since we haven't been shooting that well from outside the last few games I'm not sure how much of a factor that will be. Marc Loving seems like he could be a handful for us.
  18. I'm not happy about the seeding. Time to go down and wax the floor with them.
  19. there it is. #6 seed At Ohio State. BS
  20. not good. Zips are going to end up a 6 seed at the bottom of this last bracket.
  21. Zips not even on the 'Bubble Board.' yet for some reason Ohio State is. Why do we let ourselves think the corrupt ass NCAA would give us a chance? Like earlier let's just watch at 8:30 and hope one of those top 4 seeds in the different regions in the NIT.
  22. For reference, the 2012 Zips team that got a 5 seed in the NIT had an RPI of 55 with an SOS of 81 and a 21-11 record. Kent in 2010 had an RPI of 47, SOS of 96, and a 22-9 record. This 2016 Zips team has an RPI of 41, SOS of 122, and record of 25-8 (realtime rpi does not count games against non-Div 1 opponents). Looks like we will probably be a 4 or 5 seed in the NIT.
  23. Just for reference, the only time in the last 8 years the MAC has hosted an NIT game was Kent in 2010 as a 4 seed hosting 5th seeded Tulsa. Akron was a 5 seed in 2012 at Northwestern, and every other time the MAC has been a 6 seed or worse. The last 3 years the MAC has been a 6 seed.
