  1. Maybe some guys are better coming off the bench. This is the best we've looked.
  2. Regarding the lineup changes... Seems to have worked.
  3. Meh, after seeing them in the Orange Bowl last year and (this) close to a BCS bowl this year, recruits know a MAC school has a chance now.
  4. So basically 6 bowls, with 2 being the semis. The top non-AQ team gets an automatic bid, and another non-AQ could theoretically get an at-large, but like DiG said.. yeah right. I'm encouraged by the fact that a mid-major will participate every year. With Louisville leaving the AAC, there is an argument to be made for the MAC being the best of the rest.
  5. So last night's NIU game got me thinking, since it was the last BCS buster chance for a MAC team. With the playoff format, what is the best case scenario for a MAC team? (Please please please do not turn this into a create our own division/spring football/drop to FCS discussion). I'm wondering what there realistically is for us out there now in the FBS. As much as everyone hated the BCS, we had a chance to "bust" it and force our way into a game. I guess what I'm saying is, what are the "big" bowls now, with the playoff? Can we even get in an Orange Bowl anymore, or are we fully tied to MAC bowls if we don't make the 4 team playoff?
  6. Expensive win for BG tonight. Congrats to them.. Unfortunately a lot of people will see it as NIU being exposed. Which may be true. But it also shows the MAC is more than a one horse show. Hope the MAC can keep it up next year, there's a lot of momentum going for it.
  7. Same. I go to PHX every year for work around the 26-28th, which is when a couple MAC bowls are. I have a ton of vacation, no worries there. I'll be there if it doesn't fall during my trip West and I can drag someone with me.
  8. I think SVSM is sponsoring our new arena
  9. lol GP1 was right. Anyway I'm excited about our recruits. Heck I'm excited for the whole team, this is a first for me in December. Go Zips.
  10. They've played 9 games on the ABC/ESPN network. One of the biggest OSU fans there is (Herbstreit) works for ESPN. If ESPN was leading some charge against OSU, it's been a pretty Trojan Horse-like effort.
  11. This. Never again.
  12. Back to my moving the goalposts comment. It started as "when was the last time an SEC went to a Major school?" ... turned into a "major school north that isn't a rival," and now when the game was scheduled and the history of the opponent is also a factor. I am done.
  13. WVU was played in 2011. Assuming they scheduled around 2006 or 2007... Well WVU was en route to the Nat'l Championship when Pitt knocked them off in the "13-9" game in 2007. How is Tennessee @ #2 Oregon not legit?
  14. You're getting ridiculous. WVU was ranked #16, PSU was ranked #23, Oregon was top 5. All "north," all "major," and all great teams. But go on.
  15. Tennessee played @ Oregon. LSU @ WVU for whatever reason not yet actually explained isn't "going north," and PSU/Bama directly refutes your "Bama won't go north to play anyone" stance. LOL all you want, you're wrong.
  16. You did not say that. You said : So I found the answers for you.
  17. I feel dirty sticking up for the SEC, but buckzip keeps moving the goalposts and it's kind of fun. Soon, the SEC will be afraid because they all don't play the preseason #1 @ their place every year.
  18. So if it's a rivalry game it doesn't count as going to a major school? Noted. Disregard those, and we'll just count Bama @ PSU, LSU @WVU, Tenn @ Oregon, and Auburn @ Clemson. WVU was ranked #16, that isn't a major road game?
  19. At home though. LSU also played at WVU 2 years ago, to add.
  20. Since you ask. Bama played at PSU 2 years ago. UF plays @ FSU and Miami every other year. SC plays @ Clemson every other year. Tennessee played at Oregon this year. Auburn played at Clemson two years ago.
  21. I have no agenda sir. I was the one that said that, and never said it was THE reason for their success. To say it isn't a reason is pretty foolish, to put it lightly.
  22. Nobody said that is the sole reason, and I'm sure Dave doesn't appreciate words being put in his mouth. Not gonna lie, I'm finding it a little hard to have a civil debate with someone that says secheats every time. The move definitely had an impact on recruiting. So did their recent success, Texas' downfall, if you will. There are a lot of factors.. Joining the SEC is definitely one, I'm sure Sumlin mentions that at some point in all of his "relationships."
  23. Not a good enough name, conference affiliation, either or, we are in agreement. They aren't ranked 14th because of some Midwestern inferiority complex. I'm 100% in agreement on no preseason polls.
  24. NIU is ranked low because they play in the MAC.
  25. So you are saying NIU's chances of top 10/Lynch's Heisman long shot are because NIU is from the Midwest?
