  1. The Steelers were 6-10 before they drafted him. Since it seems like you can't have a rational conversation about the Steelers, let's use the 1-15 Colts that picked Andrew Luck as an example instead. Were the Colts "Stacked" when they went 1-15? How about the Panthers, stacked when they took Cam Newton? Take the QB and build around him. If the right guy is there early, take him. It's easier to find talent at other positions later and fill holes. Every once in a while there is a Russell Wilson or Tom Brady later, but more often than not that isn't going to work.
  2. And here we go
  3. Which supports my point of taking the QB first if he's available, since they took Ben before those guys.
  4. Oh the irony. Anyway if you've ever watched the Steelers in the past say, 7 years you would have seen Ben lead the league multiple times in being sacked. And Ben is arguably the hardest man to sack in the league. Trust me I watch them enough, I know about the injuries. But if I bring them up I usually hear some "excuses" lingo back so I'll just say the line is pretty subpar.
  5. Biggest myth in sports this year. 4th most points allowed in the AFC if I remember correctly. Anyway I don't mean to take this off topic so I'll quit with the NFL talk unless it's about Bortles.
  6. I'm from PA thanks. The Steelers and good offensive line - lol!
  7. This is coming from a Steeler fan. I hope they pass on a QB, because without a QB they'll never be a threat. But it'd be smart to take one if the right fit is there for them.
  8. Most college QBs will be a rookie, that is a good point. Like DiG said, if a franchise QB is there, you take him. Period. Bortles may or may not be that guy, but you don't pass because the rest of the team is bad.
  9. Interesting theory. So pass on a franchise QB since the rest of the team stinks.
  10. According to realtimerpi.com, the MAC is 11th as a conference. Above Horizon and CAA which we're usually below, sitting 13-14. Nice to see the West putting some wins together. Curious to see if EMU is for real or not.
  11. I think the PAC-12 is the third best conference this year.
  12. Pretty sure I read 9-12 from 3 in the second half
  13. Melo played the first three minutes and that was it
  14. Q continues to impress me. He's improved every game. 7 assists. Dude can do it all right now, with him and Nyles getting the minutes at point, we can beat anyone.
  15. Eh nevermind I think we're saying the same thing
  16. Do we actually watch them officiate other games better than they officiate MAC games? Or do we just assume?
  17. The article is about sports writers
  18. I stand corrected, even our mighty Zips couldn't go 12-0 against that schedule. Mostly due to the fact that they've played 10 games.
  19. Toledo isn't bad by any means, but I have no doubt we'd be 12-0 with that schedule. It makes our old cream puff Novembers and Decembers looks like an ACC gauntlet
  20. Awesome. When I see threads titled after a player I start to fear the worst now, so this was welcome news. Congrats!
  21. sounds scary
  22. I'm not worried about Pat underachieving, we have some promising young bigs waiting for minutes. I am worried about the PGs underachieving because the cupboard is bare. I'll take a few turnovers from Nyles in exchange for some points to be honest, we need somewhat of a scoring threat at the 1 to keep defenses honest. And from what I see lately, Nyles getting the majority of the minutes with Q getting a good chunk and CB getting a few here and there has really helped the offense go. Compared to the first couple games at least. Man I miss abreu, this team would be loaded for bear.
  23. Or should I say always fails
  24. Never fails
  25. Well in that case he can coach when Terry retires.
